  1. We need "like" buttons on the pages!
  2. I've asked Rob at the Z Factory about this a while ago and with all the zeds he's seen over many years, he told me they were on random cars. Unless they have been changed with engine transplants etc.
  3. Been playing with old street lights since my early teens; can never explain why? Have some mounted in the garage now and yes, they all work!
  4. If I can get Hemco to make me a set of seat belts by July I should be there too.
  5. Welcome and more congrats! The best way to buy a zed; all the hard, expensive, time consuming work done.
  6. I think they might be relays fitted for headlights; just grab a test light and find connector marked with the 87 and with the test light probe on that, switch the headlights on and if the test light comes on, that's what it must be for. After all these years zeds wiring looms tend to get butchered after many owners / mechanics try to fix issues. Takes a while changing it back to stock.
  7. Go to "loadshift.com.au" and put in a request for a quote. Its a site for truck drivers coming back empty and wanting to take a load for some extra cash.
  8. Depends if anyone has ever removed the drive tongue from the original distributor. Best way is to get the crank to TDC at #1 (both cam lobes for #1 cylinder forming a V) and check location of rotor button. Should almost be pointing forwards towards the radiator. If its pointing to the firewall, its 180 out.
  9. For that price you'd have a nice set of ITB's and everything you need! Just my opinion..
  10. I just remembered! If Peter doesn't need it, I may have to grab it. Mine has a bit of annoying play which I need to get rid of.
  11. Welcome! With the rust don't forget the battery area and firewall near there. Common place and a b$^&h to repair.
  12. When I did my RB conversion I used the CRS kit; one of the engine mounts needed to be modified as it didnt line up with the cross member and block. I did send it back with a drawing of what I needed to be done and that went well. Got it back a few days later and fitted the kit without any issues.
  13. I just zinc plated some nose cones, lower indicator panels and valance. Even though it looks a bit different, I've been told its the best way to prevent future rust issues and its almost ready to paint (they are pretty damage free other than some small issues). One little thing I didn't do before the zinc plating, was to repair some holes that were drilled in one of the nose cone for a lens cover. Question is has anyone else done something similar? Was it something worth doing? Cost wasn't much; about $60 plus another $55 to sandblast. Pic below of the finish before any painting has been done.
  14. Never seen a zed with anything underneath. Even fully restored ones I've seen don't have anything there.
  15. Is it a Zed or another make?
  16. If Bruce is unable, I may be able to do it for you Pete...
  17. Great to see another zed getting some lovin'. Nice work!
  18. Hi all, Won't be doing many club sprints anymore so just seeing if anyone is interested in purchasing Simmons that I had made to suit a 240Z about 8 years ago by the Mag Wheel Centre in Richmond (VIC). They are 17 x 8 (all four) and have 225 x 45 Nankang semis that havent seen the track yet. I do have coilovers but from memory they should clear the standard struts. Tyres have just been driven on the road a few times. Can seperate the tyres / wheels if anyone is interested. For both, I'm after $2600, or just the tyres for $500.
  19. Welcome to the forum Kohan, Quite a few members wanted a zed after their friends had one (myself included!) and we had to get one after that. When I started to look for one I almost bought a car from a wrecker that looked like it had chassis damage; some panel gaps didn't look right and that was when I wasn't that knowledgeable about chassis and mechanicals. Luckily I bought one that was almost full of bog! haha Its all good though; works out well in the end.
  20. A guy came into my work the other day from "Retro Looms". He does wiring for new truck / ute bodies for Cooks Body Works. Asked him about looms for a zed out of curiosity and he said it was possible. Might be worth giving them a call?
  21. Welcome to the forums! Great zed to start with; just drive and enjoy! They are Hotwires by Aunger? I had a set for my first zed before I started the hunt for 15" wheels as they were pricey back then and 17"s were for the wealthy.. Polished and painted black they look the part.
  22. Filter was usually mounted near your carbon canister on the drivers side between the rad support panel and strut tower. It has a metal clip to hold it and that's bolted to the side of the engine bay. Look for the fuel lines running along the chassis rails and they bend up and then you'll see it.
  23. Hi all, Thought I'd advrtise these here first before fleabay, I have a pair of Velo seats, both wide versions, the passenger side FIA approved, with Sparco 3" wide harnesses. Passenger side is out of date, but the drivers is either close to that but from memory is still fine for club sprints. These alone were worth $1400 but obviously not that much anymore; these are very good quality and without any incidents. Come with DIY alloy mounts to fit a 240Z. To fit in a 260Z, you will either have to modify or make your own. Drivers has a bit of wear as can be seen in the pic on the side and belt holes in the back. Passenger side is in excellent condition as it was hardly used. All these new would be around $2300, asking $650. Can help with freight if needed. We can do a E-Go depot to depot thing which should be pretty cheap. BTW, the seats are black; just look lightish because of the camera phone!!
  24. Your 260Z unless its an early 74/75, should have an electric pump at the rear. If you hear one ticking then its an electric one. There should only be one pump fitted. If you have a round mechanical one fitted opposite the distributor, remove it and put a blanking plate there. No need for two pumps! If you want to flush it, remove the line before the filter and just turn the ignition on for a while and place a glass container to catch the dirty fuel.
