  1. They are like the ones in the picture. The 280ZX ones are very small in comparison.
  2. /\ /\ /\ What he said . . . . Apart from the bit about tiny pads on the R31 Brakes and pushing them and they will fail. I did a burnout demonstration in my V8 Zed and Busted a uni joint on the axle because the rear brakes worked that well.
  3. Hey John i am certain Matt would take you up on that offer. I could pick them up seeing as he is all the way up in Sunny Queensland.
  4. Howdy. I'm the one who sells the rear conversion R31 Kits you can see on ebay. I can do a special club member price for them and even help you get a full kit sorted for for well within your budget. I run Hilux/R31 setups on both my Zeds and have done many conversions on other Zeds. Send me a PM if you're interested. Mark
  5. No worries i shall ask him.
  6. This isn't a site it's a Community and being that a new member can't just walk in with a car for sale at that price without people wanting to know a little more. Being a member here for 8 years tells me you are certainly not a Datsun guy and you probably shouldn't even have that car for sale unless you are willing to Let People Look at It and take necessary information and overall condition of the vehicle. Your price might be low but some people are up to the task of full restoration and some are not. If we as a community have to go by the word of someone none of us have ever met we may as well be sending our information to Nigerian Princes for them to deposit large sums of cash into our accounts.. What a joke!
  7. Tried to organize someone to look at this vehicle and seller doesn't want anyone taking photos and putting them on the internet. Make up your own minds on this one, i'll keep my opinions to myself on this Zed.
  8. Hey i am interested. Anyone want to look at it for me for $$?
  9. These are my Weapons of choice for tear down. Buy four containers one for each area (Interior, exterior, engine bay and under carriage)
  10. Nice Zed. You'll probably need to change the length of the tailshaft but should be no issue with the yolk. Cross that bridge when you come to it.
  11. I sold a front cut to Matty Zed that had that part attached. He may not need it. I can ask if you like, he's down your way but be prepared to drill out about 183 spot welds.
  12. This is Brendans. Might need some pics of what you have so i can get something that suits if ya'll would be kind enough.
  13. Turbine grey VY.
  14. If not i have one.
  15. Thanks for the quick replies everyone. For some reason my mate thinks he has a lucas on his which is just horrible. He's going to send me pictures this afternoon and i'll post them up.
  16. Hi peoples. Looking for a functional alternator for an L Series if anyone can assist. Mark
  17. Been a while since an update, stick a fork in him cause he's nearly done.
  18. This link is to an XT Falcon where i repaired the same area. https://www.facebook.com/Ford-XT-Project-Phoenix-460416307423982/photos/?tab=album&album_id=596894747109470 Any vehicle that is front damaged (late model) they usually front cut from the k frame forward. If it's damaged beyond that it's written off. Any engineer will tell you the national code permits any repair or modification from the firewall forward without an inspection or certificate.
  19. I replaced the floorpan rails on a Zed recently and that came to nearly $1000 with parts and some floorpan repairs so the quote is probably right. To do this properly one should take the Zed and mount it on a Dolly connected to chassis point so you have a point to measure to. 1mm out at one end can mean a lot at the other end. Some shops have a computer measuring system used for smash repaired vehicles but i doubt they would have measurements for your model. Once you get into it i'm sure by the end that quote will start to look better all the time. Thing is once they start they may look at the rest of the rails and say "Nup no good need to be replaced too" as the rear section is usually the most heavily affected. At this point you may be held to ransom by a shop who had no clue what they were up against. One question comes to mind. Why are you replacing the entire front section of the rails?
  20. You're on the right track, i did a set on mine. Once you have the right size staples you can fit it up and bend them over easy with small pointy pliers. Keep your old bits and use them for a template to drill the new bits and that way you can fit the staples without using force. I did mine over 3 years ago still going strong.
  21. I have one here that is pretty minimal on rust. I can post photos if you like.
  22. Yea i have one mate, probably one of the last parts left.
  23. I may have some of these but have to check my parts stash. Mark
  24. Subscribed, good to have video it adds dimension to the build. Keep up the good work Rudi
  25. This is the same one i have. Not sure if they ever had a factory on covering both models. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260Z-Genuine-Factory-Workshop-Manual-/331821926196?hash=item4d4220c734:g:mOQAAOSwGOxXAdfi
