  1. Man the dollar sux! I was all ready to buy new foam inserts for my seats when......the bottom fell out of the global economy. So as always necessity is the mother of zed ingenuity! A trip to Clark rubber, some high density foam and a sharp knife and I'm an instant DIY upholsterer and I am really pleased with the results. Only the drivers chair done at the moment but the passenger is on its way!
  2. I don't want to hijack here but it prompts a question i've been asking. I recently lowered my car but had the front bottoming out on the shocks (which were in good condition) if I want to stay that low which I really liked! what are my alternatives? Rev. (the reason I ask at this point is that if I have to buy what others are buying we could either get a group buy or save on freight?)
  3. ROFLMAO (I hope I got that right!) Rev.

  5. Hey cazbee, welcome to the forum. one of the oracles , er, I mean moderators will probably tell you that the sms type of speech doesn't much cut it around here, they will tell you to relax and take your time and honor the queens english so that those of us who are (or almost) part of the grey haired brigade might understand what you are actually on about! again welcome Rev.
  6. Well after fitting the triples some time ago and then finding out that the manifold and linkage system wasn't the best setup for the Zed, I purchase a brand new OEM manifold that is the 'business' (thanks BenZed). Things were running heaps better but still with problems of running rich with a flat spot on quick acceleration and after a tune before the recent vic cruise, they still had a 'flat' spot also in high revs under load. (the guys from the cruise may remember me lamenting about this!) But with some great advise from Daniel Moore I purchased and installed some smaller (140) main jets (was running 155) and just took it for a spin and WOW! my thinking was that there was so much fuel being dumped that it was flooding I could always smell it! I know that the 'nose' isn't the most valid of tuning tools however as soon as I run the carbs with these new main jets it no longer had the heavy fuel smell that normally accompanied heavy acceleration. Probably still needs a little more tinkering however i think I'm finally getting somewhere!
  7. Hey brian, I may have one! and it's mint, I just need to check with my son first who I think is parting out his Zed, I'll know in a day or two. Rev.
  8. I'm there...and I'll bring a spare bucket! Rev.
  9. hey crowe, have you tried Jenkins rubber shop on Aumuller street? if they don't have it they can probably get it for you. Rev.
  10. I'm with Craig on this one, yes it will be great to get as many Zeds as possible, but it would be equally as great to have somewhere we can bring the family too. I guess it's important to me as my resto has only gotten where it is because my wife has done some, my eldest son had done heaps and it world only be right for them to be included. I'll travel wherever and help organise whatever. Rev.
  11. Hey RBZ we'd love to have you along...you guys have an open invitation! Rev.
  12. pretty tidy...don't know about the 'Z' on the bonnet and hatch, but that's probably just me!
  13. hey guys, sorry for the delay But I had computer gremlins! A little disappointed because I shot the video in widescreen and edited in Premiere pro however it seems that youtube doesn't accommodate widescreen image, so it's a little stretched. May show the 14 minute video at the upcoming meeting. Rev. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=3iKGiCHB-u8

  17. Think a tri state meet is an awesome idea and would be great to pursue for 2009, but for reality sake I think a state Christmas meet is probably more achievable at this late notice, especially if we are trying to make it a family event. Rev.
  18. It sounds as if the interest is there, so I'll start putting some ideas together and get some consensus on dates, sounds like fun!
  19. Sounds great! if we can find a centralized venue that is a reasonable distance for most it would be great....any ideas? Would be good to include families and I can supply a huge jumping castle for the kids. I'll work on some suggested dates and see if we can find a date that gets good buy in. bring on the suggestions and it would be good if someone else wants to put up their hand to help. Rev.
  20. Craig what a great idea! What about us trying to do something for a Christmas get together? I'd be happy to help organize something. Rev.
  21. uhmmm...budget! I have about 4k to purchase the vehicle and then some to make a start..... Ash that's about what the shipping charge would be so if you can get one for free, I'm a starter!!!!
  22. I know it's a long shot....but i'm putting it out their anyway...I think it's time to start a new project so I'm on the lookout for a 260 2 seater! any leads? Rev.
  23. Let me put it right up front, the last thing I would ever want to do on this forum is to upset anyone, I understand completely the need for work to be carried out by others, my comment was to attempt to have the forum find a balance. Again if I have upset anyone, I apologise
