  1. I hear what you're saying, don't get me wrong when I talk about the DIY guys, I'm just saying it's a great way to mix it up and there are guys like me who have done most of the work by ourselves with help and/or advice by other guys on the forums. it helps to inspire and encourage guys to keep going, to achieve their goals and realize that it is possible to get their 'project' to a stage that is not only drivable but appreciated by others. Rev.
  2. Gav, I think to do a front page on a 'real' resto with all of its trial and errors and victories would hit the spot with most of the guys who call this forum home. We often see vehicles that either someone else has done the work or someone has gone out and grabbed a heap of strings attached finance and bought something already done. Most of the guys are building theirs on the go and to feature someones car that has been helped along by members of this forum would be an encouragement to all. Just my thoughts
  3. Lurch can you tell me a little more about this kind of conversion or point me in the direction of some info?....I appreciate your input.

    260 Gearbox

hey guys, well after the cruise on Saturday it has made me think that a gearbox rebuild is a priority as changing into second either up or down is getting more difficult all the time. I am on the lookout for a 260 5 speed box that I can work on as a rebuild. thanks. Rev.
  5. more footage should be up tonite...problems with my firewire card! some good footage to compliment Dimitri's.
  6. hey Sulio...It went pretty well, I think everyone had comm's...except me! but Craig had a spare handset which bailed me out. Good fun day with Mayhem and I giving it a good blat on our way back home.
  7. Great cruise guys, thanks very much! Big thanks to Craig for the maps and Ben for taking the lead up through the hills. It was great to meet Matt and see Dimitri, and Richard again. The weather was perfect and the Zeds performed well. I will post the video footage tomorrow. Matt took some good photo's which we'll look forward to seeing. 6 Zeds at short notice was pretty good! Rev.

  9. hey Bruce, If you come in on the M1 take the Narre Warren exit, turn right, follow down until you will see krispy Kreme on your right (about 500mt)at the roundabout turn right, and again right at the next roundabout and you're there. give me a call on 0409620443 if you get lost. Rev.
  10. Well guys this is the list so far, by the way great to have John on board. Rev - Dave Mayhem - Ben Biggles 240z - Richard ZZZ8 - Craig Zedman240 - Dimitri Matt Drago - Matt Zedls1 - John The idea of bringing something to throw on the BBQ is great, I'm sure if anyone needs to we can stop at a town before lunch. 11. Hey Craig, It's right out the front of the Fountain Gate Shopping Centre. If you were coming on the Belgrave Hallam road, you could turn on to the M1 get off on the Narre Warren Exit, turn right, follow down until you will see krispy Kreme on your right just before the roundabout, turn right at the roundabout, right at the next roundabout and you're there.
  12. By the way, does anyone on the cruise have room for a navigator? I have a mate coming with me but my 18 Y.O son Ben (zed head!) wants to come as well
  13. Hey Ben, saw you in the Zed, I take it that all is well with the new clutch?
  14. Sounds great Craig, anyone want any updates or info you can call me on 0409620443. Remember meet at Fountain gate krispy Kreme at 9am for a 9.30 kickoff. Rev.
  15. As far as I am aware the original finish would have been either a lacquer of baked enamel finish. The great thing about lacquer is that it will go over just about anything without reacting whereas 2 pac will not go over lacquer without often 'frying' up the same with some enamels which will react to any silicone or grease (even hand marks). If you are doing your own paint you can't go past lacquer as not only is it an easy home setup but it is also very durable. Example is someone put a large scratch down on of my doors, I was able to sand it out of the clear with 1200 and then polish it, you'd never know. The code for the paint is on one of I.D plates under the bonnet normally a 3 digit number I think. Rev.
  16. I think stopping for lunch at Sugarloaf would be a good idea Craig. I'm not sure of the actual route there however if you could give me some extra info I could plot it out on a map and have copies for everyone if you think that is helpful. Rev.
  17. Anybody?

  21. We'll look forward to catching you on the next one Sulio! Gav is there any way to have this on the front page in the upcoming events section to keep it in everyone face? Rev.
  22. Hey Guys, Some friends of mine are getting married on the 1st November at Berwick (vic) and I'm in need of another tidy 2+2 to feature as the bridal car alongside mine as the grooms car. It would be a few hour gig with petrol covered and some great photo's of your Zed by a professional photographer. What a great opportunity to bless someone with your pride and joy. Let me know. Rev.
  23. Hey Hunter, Talking to Scootag yesterday about my electronic dizzy and he pointed me to this site http://www.datsunzgarage.com/engine/ which if I recall spoke about this exact issue. Hope it helps. Rev.
