  1. Hi andrew, Had a good look at your photo's and like already suggested general tidy up and detail will go a long way in helping you to achieve a sale. It also looks from the pics that the rear bumper/valence hasn't either been fitted correctly or is just sitting there, the old bumper mounting point is still visible. I look at 2+2's all the time and avidly watch what they are achieving at sale, it would be my thought that $3500-4000 might be closer to a realistic starting figure. You may find that the body kit is more of a hindrance than a help as it detracts somewhat from the classic styling of the rear of the Zed, all that said I wish you luck in getting the best price possible. Rev.
  2. Hi guys, being that I am now running a 5 speed and a fairly heavy cam I think it might be a good idea to change my diff out, I'm looking for a 3.9 if anyone has one for sale. Rev.
  3. Done, let's see how long it takes to get it....who cares, it's free! rev.
  4. hey Pete, I have some time this week and wouldn't mind stretching the zed's legs so if you want to PM me details or give me a call tnat would be fine. Rev.
  5. Hey Glen, The stripes were done by my bro who used a new kind of auto vinyl that is done in a slight sheen, fully washable and guaranteed for 10 years, I like the almost matt look as it helps mine to 'grunge' a little in it's look by giving it a contrast not only in color but in shine. Can probably get more of this stuff if anyone wants some. Rev.
  6. The response from the forum at least with posts seems as though there is some interest in my offer of rust repairs and fabrication so with this in mind I'm willing to take 10% of anything I make from doing this and donate it to AUSZCAR....everyone wins! Rev.
  7. Hey Brabham, You can straight away forget the idea of arc, the metal used in automotive is much to light a guage and you would blow through. Gasless (with the right wire) or gas mig welding is the best go for anything automotive and gives an A1 penetration and fill of the weld. Rev.
  8. hi guys, Yep lurch is right i'm south of the border! still interested in doing any work for guys down this end of the country though. Rev.
  9. I know what you mean Lurch, but I do enjoy it and it gets my head out of my regular week. Hopefully I can earn some pocket money along the way to keep going with my Zed. Rev
  10. few more pics The fuel filler surround is about 80% at this stage with a few internal welds on the seams then primed and spot welded back in, more pics to follow
  11. Hi guys, thought I'd post a few pics of some of the recent repair and fabrication work that I have done on my sons Zed. I did a fair bit of panel work in my younger days and have enjoyed pulling out the old skills again. I was taught panel work 'old school' which meant you had to shape, shrink, expand, dolly and hammer until you had something as good as the original. With the rear valence almost rusted out I came up with a new design for the exhaust with reinforced corners for strength. With the fuel filler panel which sits behind the filler door I had to start from scratch and fabricate a completely new section. Would be good to get your feedback on these couple of items as I am considering putting my limited time up for grabs to Auszcar members who need parts or panels fabricated at a fraction of the cost of a panel shop. I have now got my backyard workshop up to scratch and I could be available for small panel work and fabrication and rust repairs. Let me know if anyone thinks that this may be of service to the members of this forum, it may help some of the younger guys to keep some money in their pocket as they go through that exhaustive resto. Rev.

Bought a complete front to rear kit from the U.S for about $200 landed, could give you the seller details if you like. Rev
  13. Hey michael, good to hear of your progress, keep up the enthusiasm. How did you cover up the holes from the previous mirrors? it's really important when you are doing your resto to not bog to many holes as normally this is where it will give way under movement. Better to weld what you can. Rev.
  14. Hey Michael, you won't need to keep the metal blinker panel as the spoiler integrates this. you can just see mine in my member pic. Rev.
  15. Hunter! I think i'll leave this one alone....fair to say though that it takes ALL kinds of people to do ALL manner of things to help us appreciate what it means to be among the more mature and refined owners of the most classic sports car on the Australian road....THE ZED! Rev.
  16. yeah, I'm with Chris! a 2+2 will allow you to make a smaller upfront investment and allow you more cash to put into setting up your Zed as a great daily driver. As a 2+2 addict I bought mine for under 5k it was a one owner with a good service history yet after driving it for 2 years it definitely needed work. My zed is now nothing like it was and probably owes me somewhere around 12k and it's still not finished, although it is a perfect daily driver. Just remember that it is an ongoing appreciating asset, that if looked after will give you higher returns in fun and finance than any other late model rice wagon could ever hope to give! Rev.
  17. Anything this side of $1300 is a good deal seeing that they have come off a zed therefore hopefully not a lot to do in regard to setup. Rev.
  18. Hey Michael, As a fellow 2+2 owner I.m glad that another one gets a new lease on life. What are you planning to do about the chassis thats bent? are you planning to put it on a rack to try and get all the corners even? If you're going to all this trouble just make sure you get some of those essential chassis/rust areas properly fixed. Rev
  19. Spotted this on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tripple-Dellorto-Carburettors-240z-260z_W0QQitemZ330254235346QQihZ014QQcategoryZ43807QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Item number: 330254235346 Hope this might be helpful. Rev.
  20. Yeah Lurch, go figure! of all nights Mel was using it for an event she had planned which left me with the Zed which on most other occasions would have been AWESOME! But on this one....walking was not an option!
  21. Sounds fantastic Craig. Ben and I sat at home thinking bad thoughts about our Zed! No, not really! After installing the new triples on Wednesday we haven't had the zed running 100% so it goes into the doctor on wednesday which will hopefully iron out the last of the bugs from the new motor/trans/carb transplant. We hope to see you guys on the Apollo Bay run. Rev
  22. Could someone let me know how their fuel return works on their triples, if I can get that nailed I may make it the Meeting tomorrow night. Thanks Rev.
  23. This may help www.e31.net. Rev.
  24. Hi Sulio, Yes it starts and I can drive it however it is a little 'flat' with some backfiring through the carb. I also noticed fuel leaking from under the carbs when I turn the motor off, which is probably due to the fuel return isssue. Do your Delorto's have a fuel return and what does that setup look like? rev.
  25. Hi guys, well the triples are on.......BUT....I NEED HELP! I've included a few photos because I'm not sure about a couple of things. 1/ not sure if there is meant to be a fuel return line on the bottom of the carbs and if so how and where does this go to? 2/ I have a vacuum pipe coming from the block and not sure if that needs to be hooked to something 3/ the 3 lines running from the fuel system have got me beat, one goes to the filter from the electric fuel pump, I know that one went to the charcoal cannister (that I ripped out) not sure if the other was a fuel return line, I've hooked the 2 of them together as fule was leaking out, not sure if this is the right think to do. I'm trying to get this right to be able to make it the club meet tomorrow night, so I would appreciate any help. Rev
