  1. Hey Sach, well I just got one too! $220, I can see the headlines "Rev does runner 23km over the limit in small country town", I guess a good lesson learned, however I would have paid that much just for the fun of the drive! Rev.
  2. yeah that's right! this is what makes this forum great, the ability to share information and ideas that not only saves a few bucks but also inspires some creativity.
  3. Go Lurch! that's cool.....Ben reackons he wants the cred for coming up with the idea? I reackon we should call it a combined effort ha, Ha
  4. I'll post some side on shots tomorrow. The great thing so far is my new prothane bushes haven't let out a squeak! Let's hope it stays that way! Rev.
  5. It will be interesting to see if you maintain the profile of the car if you lower the rear a bit more, the quick fix of strut tops will be an easy way to check it all out I guess. Lurch is right, the fronts are spot on with the rear probably needing a bit more, I was wondering if you could just fit front springs on the rear to even everything out?
  6. O.K so today I got sprung! with the help of Lurch! New lowered King springs on each corner which has allowed the new rims and rubber to snug up nicely to the guards! the other great thing was that my new bushing kit arrived from the States last week, so we replaced a heap of bushes while we were fitting the springs. Lurch you're a champ, Ben and I learnt heaps and really appreciated your help. Here's some pics of the days work.
  7. Hey joel, You can send them to me and I can resize them or else download some freeware photo resizing software via google. revzed at gmail.com Rev.
  8. Thanks for an awesome cruise guys! Ben and I had heaps of fun not only finally giving our Zed a bit of time off the leash but being able to put some faces to names was great. Sorry I had to bail short of P.I but I had work commitments! looking forward to next time round. The cars looked great and to see them all together was fantastic. Thanks Sulio, Lurch and others for making us feel so welcome. P.S It might be good to give thanks to God for Sach's mighty comeback, I know I did! Thanks everyone, Rev.
  9. Hey Lurch, Pedders quoted me 170 a pair +240 fitting and 66 for alignment that's about 660 all up....what's your thoughts? Rev.
  10. Hi Guys, well they're on! and they're awesome, not only am I happy with the look but it feels like I've got way better handling, can't wait to give it a good run on the P.I cruise. Next week it goes in to have lowered king springs fitted which will help fill her out a bit more. Rev.
  11. Hey Guys....well I did some investigating today and 245/45/16 are hard to find....especially on a budget! I had a real helpful guy in Berwick (who's been in the tyre business for 30 years! I guess he's tire..d!) who encourgaed me to go for the 225/55 in a Falken brand, he trial fitted one and the walls of the tyre on the 8" rim was nice and straight. I was hoping to get as wide as possible however he reckons the gain of a 245 on an 8" rim was maybe an inch or so...Unless someone thinks I'm really missing some info here, I'll go ahead and get them fitted tomorrow. PICS WILL FOLLOW!
  12. That's some great advise guys, thanks for the time you have put in to work it out. I'll take this info to wherever I end up getting tyres. Rev.
  13. I was hoping to run 225's on the front (7") and 245's on the rear (8") do you think I might be going too wide on the rear?
  14. Thanks moonstonebluz, I'd be keen to know how much they were and where he bought them. I was looking at some pirelli's but they are a 40 profile which I think is too small.
  15. Just thought I might get you guys to celebrate with me! My wheels arrived today from the U.S and now I'm busting to get them on. Any recommendations you guys might have for tyres would be a bonus as this is my first job come Monday morning! The best thing is I'll have them on for the P.I cruise. Rev.
  16. Hey Thanks Lurch - Yeah I kinda guessed that it was my turn for a day off! so except for the second coming i'm there!!!!
  17. Hey Guys, My son and I will be there for the Saturday, Dave (Rev) and Ben
  18. I bought these rims after seeing them on a mates car in the U.S who loves his!, all I did was get another friend to buy them from the dealer and ship them...all this and I still don't know what brand they are? I'll let you know when I get them out of customs this week!
  19. hey guys - Thanks for your approval of my wheels, still after any leads on a good tyre shop on the South side? Rev.
  20. Hey Crowe, good to see Zed guys from my home town! I am working with a 0 offset on these wheels, A mate of mine in the States has them on his car. I hope to have them on by the P.I cruise, so I'll be looking forward to catching up with you guys.
  21. Hey sulio...I've included a pic of what should arrive at the airport this week! I've bought a staggered set 16X8 rear & 16X7 front, now I have to think about tyres etc (anyone know of a good tyre shop?)....should be fun. Rev.
  22. Hey Guys, My new wheels will be here in days so I thought I'd put my current set up for sale to see if there is any interest. Up for sale is a nice set of Cheviot Hotwire 14X7 rims with almost new tyres (95%tread) 225/60/14 BF Goodrich radial T/A. These wheels are rare as for a Zed and have a great 'old school' look to them, check out the pics and let me know if you're keen $850.00. Wheels are located in SE Melbourne
  23. Moochos grassias Moochacha, you are corecto ....andre....andre....areeeeeeba, pass me another el paso taco! I guess the idea is that mexicans are south of the border! however I choose to believe that here in Mehico (victoria) we are in God's very own Zed Heaven....pass me another Corona hombre! Rev.
  24. Hey Pauly, It all depends on what someone is willing to pay, if you are going to sell, advertise it with all of the positives right up front (the engine mods etc.) and let people know that an incredible opportunity exists for them to paint the car in the color of their choice!...WOW how many opportunities do you get like that? All the best if you decide to sell.....for my thoughts I think that you are in the 2500-3K bracket but then again....the market determines what's fair! Rev.
  25. Hey pauly, It could have been some crap that got through to the carbs, what are you doing for fuel filtration? I had a similar thing a while back however mine was blowing more blue/white smoke, however it runs fine now? Rev.
