  1. The splitter looks great, nice work Scott.
  2. Love the colour, looks sensational in the sunlight. Nice work
  3. Thanks all, we had a perfect day. We just got back home from the honeymoon yesterday. The Tassie cold is a little hard to take after a couple of weeks in Fiji but we're adjusting back. Hopefully now the wedding is done I might have some spare cash to spend on the Z again
  4. I'll 2nd that, best track I've ever driven by far. You Victorians are so lucky to have it in your backyard.
  5. How did the car feel at PI? Did the diffuser feel like it made much difference?
  6. Something we had happen with my car. When we installed the new computer we didn't run the power to the coil through the tacho as per the factory wiring. The car would get to around 4,000rpm and the timing would go haywire causing it to start missfiring. We spent a long time chasing it and in the end found it was because we had used the power supply from the computer to power the coil instead of the factory power supply which runs through the tacho. We changed it back to the factory Z power supply and it's been fine since. There is something in the tacho that takes away the electrical interference we were experiencing. Anyway, I hope whatever it is isn't too hard to sort out
  7. That's one sexy looking Z. Nice work on the engine conversion, it all looks very neat and tidy. Good work!
  8. PM sent but I'm happy for Scott to have first option on it if he wants the turbo from 260DET and this housing.
  9. We had a guy run something similar in our class but in the end it was found they didn't fit the rules of the class as they weren't for road use and he wasn't allowed to run them anymore. But if you're just running sprints it doesn't really matter and I know they did work really well on his car.
  10. We just ran a hose from the diff under the car to the engine catch can on mine. Good to hear you're really starting to get the car sorted now.
  11. I'm looking to sell my R200 LSD. It's a 3.7 ratio and has a KAAZ centre. It's very tight and probably best suited to track use as it makes the inside rear wheel skip a little on tight turns (like a welded diff only not as bad). I bought it off another member of this forum "Vindicare" a few years ago. It's only ever been run with KAAZ oil and is in excellent condition. I'm selling it because my car handles just as well with a welded diff and I can pick and choose different ratios for different events with the welded diffs. I'm looking for $1,000. PM me if you're interested. I'm happy to organise freight interstate at the buyers expense. Cheers, Shane
  12. I can only talk for the boxes I've used (FJ20 & R31). Both of those are the right length to use the Z tail shaft but both require modified gearbox mounts. For both of these the position of the gear lever was fine and required no modification to the tunnel.
  13. I've used both a FJ20 and a R31 box with the same modification.
  14. Not sure but it sounds like something he should see a doctor about. It'll be interesting to see if Z's do keep going up in value in years to come as 80's cars become classics.

I didn't think they would want things like turbo 240Z's running? But maybe if they had a blown EF there! An N/A 240Z would fit in much better if it's finished this time next year?
  16. I use Sunoco 260GT but it's a turbo circuit car. I'm keen to switch over to E85 in the future as lots of people are getting great results in boosted race cars with it and it's a fair bit cheaper than the Sunoco.
  17. Very nice! PS, thanks for posting up the pics of the wing mounts
  18. That cracked me up. Maybe you should put in a third option for "unsure".
  19. lol, classic On mine we actually cut the guards higher than recommended and mounted the flares a bit higher than they're supposed to sit. It was a little extra work to get it right but it meant we could still have the low ride height and plenty of suspension travel which is what we needed.
  20. haha, too many walls there for me. I've done a few over the hump when I've had too much bias on the rear, especially in the wet. When are we going to see the RAT 510 plates on the road?
  21. I'm running RB's 17x8.5 front and 17x9 rear with 245/40's on the front and 255/40's on the rear. If you go to 17x9 on the front you have to go to a skinny tyre like a 225 which kind of defeats the purpose of putting wide wheels on in the first place.
  22. Yeah, it would suit better if I was into drifting or rallying rather than circuit racing
  23. Mine goes back to my karting days. In juniors at times we were less worried about who won the race and more concerned about who could pull off the biggest scandinavin flick, otherwise known as a scando.
