  1. If you were struggling with a lack of front grip a front diffuser would help solve the problem. But since you're struggling with a lack of rear grip it could potentially unbalance the car further and make it worse. With Peter Mac's rear wing fitted, I'm sure he will be able to show you how to adjust it to get the car balanced. Are you running a rear swaybar? If so, what size? I'm watching this thread with interest as I also want to add a splitter and rear wing in the future. I'm looking forward to hearing how the test day goes.
  2. I think it just looks big in the photo It's the GT35R I was running on the L28. I think I'm going to go for a split pulse 1.06 a/r housing on it now.
  3. Progress has still been slow but cricket season ends next week so I'm looking forward to having more time to spend on the Z again. Got a mate to make up the mounts and did another trial fit with them today. Looks like the engine is sitting just where we wanted it. Now for the gearbox mount and tailshaft and then I think we'll start on the roll cage modifications.
  4. Great to hear you're getting it sorted and punching out some good times Mick. I better do a trip north sometime soon to see this thing in action!
  5. Looks great with the flares fitted. I like the darker centres on the Rotas too.
  6. Looking good Mick. It's coming up very nice.
  7. Can't wait to hear how it goes
  8. That's incredibly cheap for an engine conversion done by a shop. A lot of places would charge that just in labour!

That is sexy as. Awesome colour. The triangulated strut brace?
  10. Yeah mate, it's sold. If you need one let me know. I know somebody that should have one.
  11. It'll be great to see yas out there having a sledgehammer fight with Cooper and Dann! I'm sure there's ex kb parts floating round all over Aus.
  12. Picture taken from a mates Facebook. Reminds me of the Piranha 2 movie except you can't see the strings making this one fly..........
  13. Haha, Gold!
  14. You'll have to come down next year, that's if you're not running in it yourself. We can take the boat down to surgers bay and try our hand at car catching
  15. We put the tinny in this morning and watched the Cygnet stage from the river. Top way to do it as you don't have to be in the stage before the road close and we had an awesome view. The Devenish Z sounded very very sweet. Huge drive from Mick to be running top 10 for outright classic in what's a fairly basic Z. He'll be stoked if he hangs on. Bluerat, Daniel went to hospital but is ok from the reports I got. Nasty trip down to the water for the Subie!
  16. I heard it's a direct bolt in using engine mounts from a Lada Niki.....................

Fantastic result. That's a very wide powerband to use.

Nice work Pete, about spot on what you said it would make! How does the torque compare to standard stroke RB26's you've built?
  19. With wings like that, as long as you can mount it high, away from the boot/hatch, then the car its mounted on has less effect, especially on a car like a 240Z which slopes away gently from the roof line. If it's mounted too low then the low pressure zone under the wing which reduces lift also creates a low pressure zone above the boot/hatch and has the opposite effect, increasing lift. Also, the further you can get it back helps because this keeps the low pressure zone behind the car rather than above the boot/hatch. I found this for anyone that might be interested. http://www.marsperformance.com/html/MARS-3DI-144CM-Carbon-Fiber-Rear-GT-Spoiler-Wing.html From the website, I'd say you're right, definitely just a cosmetic part so I'll give it a miss. lol, could just see it on the Swift! Actually I think I've seen something similar before!
  20. That's what I was wondering when I saw the C-West sticker on the end of the wing on the car in the pic. I found this info here: http://www.c-westusa.com/labs/fudo1_rx7spec.asp But maybe it's a copy of some description? Anyhow, might still be interested if you can provide me some info on who makes it and the model, etc.
  21. Can you give us some more details? Do you know if there's anywhere on the net where I can find wind tunnel test results on it from the manufacturer?
  22. They did that to me too :-\
  23. That's a very nice looking power curve Sinisha
  24. I was running EBC yellows but at Symmons Plains which is supposed to be the hardest track in the country on brakes, They would fade in the longer races and I would struggle to get though a meeting on a set of pads! They did have really nice feel but simply weren't up to the job. I've now switched to Project Mu compound H16-03 (same as the control pad for the supertaxis). They're brilliant. They are double the price of the EBC's but I now get 3 times the pad life out of them. They are hard on rotors but rotors are cheap anyway. As soon as I started using them I could go much deeper into corners than with the EBC's and had a lot more confidence that it would pull up. The H16 compund is quite hard and does need to warm up a little before it works properly so it's probably not suitable for your application. It would be well worth looking into some of the softer compounds though.
  25. I've got a BA XR6T as a daily/tow mule and it's brilliant for both. It tows the race car and a tray full of spares up hills at 110 where the 7.3 litre turbo diesel F250 from my dad's work is back to 90 with the same load. Having said that, you could put another couple of ton behind the F250 and it'd still do it at 90! I went for the XR6T cause it's a bit cheaper to run than the XR8 and I drive about 50km each way to work. If fuel economy isn't an issue than I reckon the XR8 will be great.
