    hey all ive finaly bit the bulletafter my stupid holley set my car on fire and now am after a full efi setup ( manifold, injectors, wiring harness,dizzy etc) a set of su's in usable condition, they dont need to be 240z carbs just not flatops will be happy with brittish. also im on a tight buget :-\ just pm or post if anyone can help. cheeers pauly

    cheers i just ment the slight flair in the back my 77 2+2 has them aswell and didnt no if it was standed or not. also looking good ill be joining the paint crew in a couple of weeks so keep posting. cheers pauly

    lol my z tyred to kill me today too. early this avo i re kitted my carby due to many problems any way long story short it backfired spraying fuel every where and all over me my gf was in the car, then my girlfriend continued to turn the key and it backfired again setting my carby, engine and my jumper on fire i was smart enough to close the choke which stopped the source of the fire and then extinguished the rest of the fire lucky nothing was damaged. dam our zeds and there need too try and kill us lol. cheers pauly

    well the bloke at autobahn as usual is a fool, i have a black widdow kit in my 260z 2+2 that i installed. any kit will do because the actuators are the same, as for for fitting a central locking kit it took me nearly 4.5 hours to get the actuators in the wright spots so if i can get my door trims off ill send u a pic but be warned you will have less than 1mm between the moving parts of the window and the actuators so you will still haveto figet with it for a bit. cheers pauly

    i bought a 260z gasket set from ebay in the usa and it contianed all the gaskets for the flat top sus, if there still working keep them on please dont do what i have done and sell your sus, only to find out it was a problem with a head gasket like i did. cheers pauly

    is this a recent problem, when i changed my dizzy my firing order went out and fixed it and it was all good. good luck cheers pauly

    when you get the head off try soaking the bolt in crc or wd 40, then get one big pair of vicegrips and try to undo the bolt worked for me before but cant say it will work for you but safest option to start with cheers pauly

    Ive had similar problems and i also thought it was fuel related worked out it wasn't, if you can open up your dizzy and take out the plate that the points sit on and give it a good clean don't disassemble the plates though as i done this and lets just say i needed a new plate. my plate had rust and dirt all over it and when i cleaned it it worked a treat give this a try it only take a couple of minutes but you will need to reset your points gap. good luck cheers Pauly

    nearly the same thing happened to me i was turning right at a set of lights and it started to slide bad my 260 finally grabbed, it was heading strait for a nice big pole and the car didn't want to turn so in my last effort i put my foot on the clutch reved the car to 3700rpm and dropped it, needless to say it actually worked but i ended up facing the wrong way like yourself, scared the crap out of me i was also screaming NO NO NO and no longer take my z out in the rain. cheers Pauly

    well unfortunately for me i live in albury which is bout 350 to 400km away is there any chance u can pm me the details on the bracket and ill get one made, id say it will fit but might need some slight modding. cheers pauly

    hey i Simon i was wondering i you or anyone else knew if your setup eg the bracket would fit my 260z 2+2 as i have a full set of 300zxtt brakes in great condition at my disposal and was wanting to do a brake upgrade like yourself, if so are you able to send me the dimensions of your bracket so i can get my brother to make some up. cheers pauly

    first i would check your timing and if thats fine ( mine usualy around 7 degrees ) then i would say you have the same problem as me and your dizzy is rusted to hell internaly which was causing my car to missfire when ever it felt like it. cheers pauly

    that not a bad idea i had some ass kick my tail lights, although they didnt break my ligts the broke the surround. i also had some one try to steal my car but they didnt screw driver it they drilled out the lock didnt work though but i did have to replace the lock, just do what i did and install remote central lock now my car cant be opened by a key/ screw driver etc but it can be a pain if your bat goes flat as you need to climb through the boot. cheers pauly

    check your spark plugs if there ngk bp6es change them to ngk bp5es i think your problem will vanish as mine did. cheers pauly

    if you have a manual us castrol VMX80 ( you will need to buy 2 1L bottles ) or if your using a auto use castrol TQ DIII. ive been using VXM80 for the past couple of years and have had no problems. cheers pauly
