  1. i installed my extractor myself but it was not easy you best bet is to remove itake manifold eg carbs and old exaust and i found it was easier to feed the extactors up into the engine bay (going from the bottom of engine bay to the top)then to go from the engine bay to the bottom of the engine bay if there over 2.25 inch mine where 2.5 and id say thats y it was so hard but good luck also change your gasket and get some gasket selastic and make sure you get a good seal or u will have a lawn mower on your hands and youll need to remove the extactors and seal it all over again cheers pauly

  11. Hey I had the same problem what type of carbies are the su are they flat tops or round also I set my timing to 7 degrees and presto it now revs to over 6000rpm I also scraped my su s and put on a 350 holley my su s where rooted and it could only rev to 4700rpm and used heaps of fuel so set your timeing to 7degrees before top dead center fixed my prob Cheers pauly
  12. it hammers doesnt it the 240z on forza try taking of all the traction control stability control etc and see how hard it is to drive cheers pauly
  13. was the alternator changed it and i ran great no misses or anything i also cheaked the wiring andit had a crack in it but i fixed it prior to the problem wif my alternator, as for the regulator mine was external and it took me a while to figure out why my new alternator was'nt charging, it was due to it having a built in regulator so having two was a real problem so thats one thing to check if your changing you alternator after that was done the z lives thanks for all you help cheers pauly
  14. the needle was all over the place it would go to nothing then right to 16v then would mellow out and seem to be charging fine but i would say it is stuffed because the exact same thing happerned to my brothers 300zx thats y i realy do think its the alternator anyway tomorw will tell all as im going to be removing the 1 from my other z and if works a new i will get another for my second z cheers pauly
  15. I live in albury ill be pulling the alternator out of my other z to see if it fixes it if not ill be quite anoyed but anyway and I'm running a carby not efi
  16. hey all i have a eletrical problem more or less its like a short but im starting to think its the alternator is stuffed. i was driving home tonight and it started backfiring missing etc and then finaly after i lossed all my lights and other eletrics it just died and the batery had no juice what so ever can any one confirm this problem or know what it is from experience cheers pauly
  17. take my advise go the hotter plug unless you like cleaning them every month or two also the bosch super 4 plugs seem to be a bit better then the ngk dont foul up as easy cheers pauly
  18. i would have to agree with you partily i realy do agree with you that the 260z 2 seater looks better and is more sporty and i would love to own 1 some day but as for practicality the 2+2 wins for me the fact that it is wider, parts are more avalible and the extra 100kg isnt that much of a issue just remove the spare and some other parts and presto you back to 1100kg as for the 280zx and the z31 i agree there realy ugly and nissan nearly destroyed the z name with them but dont judge the 260z 2+2 till you drive 1 everyday cause there a great car and handle sweetly my 2cents cheers pauly

  20. welcome you shouldnt have much trouble with the motor many people here have spare motors and parts for the good old z cars as for the spoiler i call dibs if you get a new one im quite handy with glass and want 1 of those spoilers lol. have fun with the new project and just post if you need help and im sure we will answer cheers pauly
  21. i would personaly go the 260z 2+2 but many ohter people would disagree, the reason y i like the 2+2 is it is wider and seems to handle better etc they just dont look as good so the 260z 2 seater would be better then the 240z in my oppinion. as for the engine setup id go for a 2jzge vvti or the 2jzgte vvti due to lots of torque and plenty of power also ive read many posts on people doing converions in just a couple of full days check this web page out it will help if you want to do a toyotoa conversion http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127163 cheers pauly
