please help i was out driving the other night and then stoped got out of my car, then i went into the shopping center came out tried to turn my lights on again and all my lights shit there pants. now i have no lights on any of my gauges has this happerned to any 1 and how can i fix it ps all the rest of my lights work and there are no blown fueses cheers pauly

i dont know if it is a 350 or a 500 duel barrel but as for the manifold i was going to get mine cut and re welded for a holley carb dont know if i will go linkages or cable any 1 got ideas how to set up a cable cheers pauly

cheers for the moment i just put my rebuilt downdrauft cab back on and its producing decent power but now i think like many otheres ill just get round tops thanks for all your help pauly

well i took the flat tops off only to have a down draugft carbie spray fuel all over my car. now the needles on the flat tops look fine not bent or worn ect but how there set may be a problem so how do i lean the carbs out with the needles. pistons look fine the carbies would most likely be out of sync though. now for what happernes when i put the carbies on they wouldnt idle they would fluctuate from 1100 rpm then it would jump to 2000 rpm+ but once they where above 3000 rpm they worked a treat , now i stoped the carbs from fluctuating but pluging more hoses in ect but now its running contantly rich an when u put your foot flat too the floor it just looses all power as you said its like the choke is always on, ive also ajusted the needles but then ajusted them back to where they were but that done nothing now i dont know if they ever worked fine but they where in good nick and in the boot of the car when i bought it no idea why the person put the down draugft carb on but it may have something to do with the prob im having hopfuly that helps cheers pauly

i have overhalwed them i got a flattop kit when i bought a gasket set for my L26 the only thing it didnt come with is a set of needles but i think i might try to track down 1 of those vavles i might solve the prob cheers pauly

ive done both but no luck i think it may be because of the throttle opener control valve i bypassed it would this effect it

i finaly have the buggers running without the throttle opener control valve but now i have a new problem its running rich and as soon as you plant your foot it sputters and nearly stalls also i cant get it to idle below 1250 rpm any ideas cheers pauly

yeh im very sorry about that i was quite pissed off at the time. i have been trying to set up flat tops on my 2.6 but cant get them to run properly. the main problem is that i dont know if h ave every thing hook up corectly so a couple of pictures would help with that 1. and i truthfuly have no idea how to balance them or change the fuel mixture, also i think i may be missing 1 peice off the manifold its a throtle opener control valve is there any way to bupass this. thanks pauly ps sorry about the confusion

now many of you strait away will say through the pains out and that may be true but i wanted them for my 2.6L im buying a 2.8L with dome tops. now the problem i have is 1: i have set these carbs up how i think is write ause the haynes manual i have says crap about them and cant find any info on the net so if some 1 has some pics that would be great 2: i have the carbs running and by god there good when your above 3000rpm but when there below that there shit to put it they dont run it contanly stalls and wont even idle and its stating to piss me off cause i have know idea how to balance them or tune them to stop this prob 3: of all the info in the haynes manual it says i should have a pipe coming from my exauset to my balanceing tube or something and theres none there so if any 1 has any info on these bastard of carbies plz post cause it could be a realy tiny thing thats scewing it up cheers pauly

i agree my stock 260 2+2 went 200km/h isnt so bad i didnt even notice i was chasing a mate in a magna yes a magna doing 190k's + and its felt smoth as silk no idea that i was going so quick i didnt even think it would go that quick lol

hey i was just wondering if any 1 has herd of a p 53 manifold i have 1 on my car with a downdrought daf carbie (rip off of a 36 webber thats what i gather any way) it seems to be not too bad but have trouble getting settings right eg air to fuel mix its always running rich any 1 got any idea what i shoud do or any info on the manifold cheers pauly

this is gunna sound realy dodgy but i duck taped a piece of builders foam to the back hatch and it preaty much solved my probs wif fumes any way cheers pauly

well my car got regertsed in december and im still runnin just 95 or 98 premo and it runs like a treat then i use some flash lube and it ran like crap ever since then i ran 95 98 octane fuel and its back to normal has this happerned to any 1 else cheers pauly
