  2. its getting a bare matal resrpray and what looks to be filler isnt its primersurfacer and yes i also thort it was bog. but i do agree with you about it being a datto, but im yet to see a 2+2 unlmolested and that doesnt contain 10kg of bog mine has less than 500g and that was gorrila hair not plain old bog. as for the indercator i have know idea why the last owners done that. if push come to shove and i cant get what im afte it will be getting parted which i dont think should be done but all the parts are less than 6months old and you goto do what you goto do cheers pauly
  3. it will be getting painted this week i was thinking after it was painted about $6500 with 12 months rego whicdh i think is fair if un reg $5700. there is also quite a few spare part, more pics to come. cheers pauly
  4. hey all i just thort i would ask how much you think my car is worth and i dont have pics yet cause its not currently painted. now for the description. i have had the car for the past two years since then i have replaced the shocks, front end, steering rack, all front end bushes, has a 350 holley re kitted, new leads, plugs, dizzy from a 280zx with all new interals and cap, has a set of 14" simmons rims with brand new tyres, a radiator from a 280zx, new front spoiler, head (from a early 240z and mods for the head include cam, larger valves, and larger inlet and exaust, also shaved about 0.7mm and has a comp of about 10.1 i worked it out at may be wrong though ), has had interior re done at one stage in red valor which is in godd condition has 1 hole though, has a cracked dash, gbox is in ok cond but has worn sincro in second and needs a new bush and heaps of rust lol just kidding had three holes in the whole body the size of 5c coins one in the sill, one near the fuel cap and one in my hatch which has all been fixed also its a 260z 2+2 cheers pauly
  5. hey my 1977 2+2 just passed roadworthy i has no hazard lights so i removed the switch and my rear dimister doest work either and it passed with flying colours also in in nsw it also passed a blue slip (whent over the pits full inspection) in the same setup and they said nothing cheers pauly

  7. yeh it is a daily but as for 3rd party i had it and gio said they would give me full compo for $630 if i myself had anothercar through them or my parents for some odd reason changed to gio but they wont budge the reason y i want full compo is due to me repacing everything i mean running gear struts motor and interior has be re done in red valour etc and the parts have cost me a mint but anyway im going to ring the insurence onbudsment tomorow and see what thay can find a woman from aami tod me they might be able to help but hey crap happerns cheers pauly
  8. talking about insurence i can barely get mine insured im 20 yrs old have a no claim bounus with just car insurence and the best price i get quoted is $1016 a year plus $950 excessand thats only for $3850 (gio they said they would increase it if i get it valued higher than that) which is a joke considering it has 4g in parts alone and thats just to start with, i even tryed shannons and they said the wont insure me due to the fact i have only had my licence for 3 years but they said ithey would insured it if i raced it. also i live in nsw and have no speeding fines no claims etc they also said my car was classed as a high performance car. so for shits and giggles i thort i would ring up and get a quote for a brand new 08 $49 000 ve s pack and guess what i got quoted you guessed it $360 a year and a $600 excess that is replace if damaged in the first 12 months any one know of a good insurer for young enthusiest like myself and not just rich little mummies boys cheers pauly
  9. yeh i did see them and also noticed they where not 240z carbs i think they may be jag carbs im now thinking of efi. does any 1 dissagree, also i have a new cam,polished ports ,widend inlet and exaust and larger valves in my early E88 head and its sweet as cheers pauly

  11. hey all ive got a problem with my motor. my motor was running fine 2 days ago and then today it was running like crap it was missing and carrying on, any way i continued to drive it and then it started blowing alot of black smoke which nearly killed me, then all of a sudden it nearly died so i turned it off and then back on and it was still doing it. now for the strange part, i cracked it and thort if it dies i dont care i had enough then it came good and had awsom power output and is now running fine. so can any one tell my why it is doing this as its realy anoying. (also i have changed my head, points, rotor button, dizzy cap, leads, but i am yet to change the coil and plugs as they where only 6 months old did clean them though) please help me cheers pauly
  12. personaly dont see why you couldnt do it as long as it matches up. as for the erg solinoid mine was running fine with it disconnected so i dont see it as an issue just give it a try and see if it works its not hard to change back to the original one cheers pauly
  13. the first thing you should do if you puchase a haynes manual, this little manual helped me out so much and i was useless now i can change front ends, heads ,diffs, gboxes etc so its realy worth it. also helps if you learn fast and some help from the local mechenic helps too cheers pauly and good luck
  14. cheers bout time some one thought so lol as for the bodgy single 2barrel carby, you just replace it with a 350 holley or webber its relitivly easy to change and and performs preaty good ( not bad on fuel either) so if any one is stuck with this problem of a 2barrel carby let me know cause i can help cheers pauly
  15. i had the same problem when i got my z. try changing your plugs first use ngk bp5es plugs, change your points, rotor button and cap if they need it also a new set of leads doesnt go estray. you should have that thing purring like a kitten cheers pauly
  16. yeh 5k is not unpossible but it will end up costing you if you dont do your reaserch. the number one thing to look for is one with little rust, as its much easier to change parts over the to fix a molested body and a lot cheaper. as for the rust make sure you check the sills doglegs etc usualy molested cars have bog hanging over slightly and it wont be smooth. just for a example i paid $2650 for mine and i thort it was reasonabley strait and it was. the previous owners had cut the rust out and welded plates on etc and done a good job but as usual there was bog not much though. i dout you will find one bog free/rust free but make sure you thoughly check the car over for ripples or bumps in the body as its a good sign theres rust or bog there. and even if the car doesnt run and the bodys strait you will be better off in the end buying it then one full of bog and running fine also just to let you know im now nearly upto $6000 in total on my car and it has taken nearly 2years of replacing worn or broken parts but im extreemly happy with it now and am very glad i got mine and not a boged up one. well good luck with the search and i hope you find what your after just be paitient cheers pauly

  20. yeh i do sort of understand its not rocket science, they would also look quite crap with my gaurds as they have been flared ill just keep looking for a set. do you in your personal opinion think a +15 would be ok cheers pauly
  21. hey all is the offset diferent on a 260z 2+2 to a 2 seater 260, if so what is the maximum positive offset you can use as i found a nice set of rims but they have a +35 offset cheers pauly
  22. couldnt be too hard. the best bet would be to just change heads, to the n42 from a L28 etc. but as i said earlier when i added flash lube my car ran like crap and was constly blowing smoke and yes i did add the right amount. cheers pauly
  23. well im paulis87 on xbox live and my 432R is black with white gt stripes, i will be on live again soon as my old 360 was baned for life due to moding even though i own all original games dam microsoft. good news though i have a new 360. long live forza cheers pauly
  24. hey everyone im in a bit of a pickle. i cant undo the nut sercuring the cam sprocket to the cam on my head and i was wondering if any one has had this happerned or knows how to remove it. so far i have tryed to put the car in gear while the hand break is on and tryed to loosen the nut, didnt work just ran over my foot so please help me, im out of ideas. cheers pauly
