  1. After running carter pump and then a holley blue on my car with old v8 i was never going back to that noise My solution was to fit hi pressure internal walboro pump in the tank. It was bit of work cutting access hole into tank welding in a swirl pot and fitting pump but i love the result no pump noise mick
  2. interesting mount looks good like how it sit motor well back keep the good work up

    Scarab

Well targa cant let anything in that might beat a porsche now can they just wouldnt be cricket Remember the datsun 1600 that beat a porsche and won the classic section was promptly disqualified for having 240k struts what a huge advantage that was Mick

  5. Good to see Jon Siddins 240z win Early classic handicap class and second in classic outright another great targa result for the mighty 240z mick
  6. LS1 Z project

Having built a 240z with ls1 you will find that to get a mod plate you will need to upgrade to at least 4 spot calipers and vented discs on front along with disc brake rear Suspension need to upgrade struts along with springs and depending on car most likely all bushes sway bars would be personal choice your 260z is good choice as it weighs heavier than a 240z so should pass the engine capicity to weight formula for engineering As paul said the arizona z car stuff is pretty good gear and reasonably priced for what u get Ps 400rwhp in a zed alot of fun Mick
  10. The weight according to tasmanian road authority for a 240z is 1068 kg funny enough that is same as wikipedia says 1068kg The thing to remeber is that according to code of practise for purposes of engine changes u can use weight of heavier version of the same body car with larger motor for this exercise the 260z 2 seater 1207kg Big difference here is that the capacity of engine you can have changes at 1100 kg in that below 1100kg u multiply weight by 4 to get capacity eg 1068kg by 4 equals 4.27 litre that you can have above 1100 kg you multiply by 5 so eg 1207kg by 5 equals 6.035 litres fun arguement to have with road authority getting them to believe a 260z 2 seater exists lol mick
  11. Hoping not to offend Woza but i have been given copy of design for mount plate going to get some laser cut and milled out if anyone is interested i can get extra done message me in next week or so if anyone wants some Mick

  13. Was good to meet you too shane Sure was a shame i had to leave last run on damp track was a blast but would have much rathered stayed and lowered my time Was shocked when mate rang and said i won my class with one dry run Turbos might go hard but they cant beat a v8 for sound Did hodgo offer you a full time works drive in team blue rat since u showed him up in his own car lol Mick
  14. Just a suggestion but when i needed to make tailshaft for my car to suit r200 diff i cut end off half shaft might be option if u cant get a tail shaft mick
  15. having just done the engineering to get my mod plate approval orginal 240z was 1068kg with 160hp at flywheel My car with ls1 now has around 400hp at wheels cant say what weight is havent been really too concerned with that mick
  16. Well im not a footy nut but did do it few years ago happy to go again Yes we do have tvs down here in tassue but is bit hard to tell some of the teams apart in black and white be great when we get colour tv mick
  17. Geez hodgo dont go sharing all our secrets they might not go home next time they come down Might have to get adoption papers organised for the imports Im thinking i might have to wear suit to kart dash in march so i can go straight to driving duties at a wedding in the afternoon Maybe i could bring dads car down for kart dash 6.9 litres is still class E then i could go straight to wedding might not handle like the zed though Mick
  18. Looking good hodgo now the work begins Mick
  19. Because of the rules i had to fit standard belts plus as well as harness to get my mod plate approval I bought set of brand new klippan think they where to suit 180b lap sash without Inertial reel type At work we have used ea falcon ones in lot of older cars that needed new belts they a pretty universal fit Check out the klippan range at your local repco pretty sure u will find a new set there
  20. i would be interested in buying or even having a set of mounts made the urge to do the arizona z car brake is just getting to strong to resist
  21. Had 5 zeds at workshop today plus a gtr looked good wish id had time to get a photo
  22. Might have to build a zed ute to follow u guys around next time Mick
  23. I run one on my diff never checked diff temps but seems to work good just like the idea of extra oil cant hurt Did have the same problem with breather forever blowing oil out so i connected a tube to the breather and now it feeds into a oil catch tank Most times when i empty it seems to be more water than oil comes out keeps the mess under control though I did fit a arizona z car moustache bar which i welded holes up on and had new ones drilled to match cover mick
  24. would be good to see u up this end of the island I am hoping to get down south for the hillclimb at baskerville later in the year
