  1. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2276.0.html 5th post down has a photo and details of a diff mount made by chris wood. i'm interested in getting one and he lives quite close to me, i'm not in a rush, hence y i've done nothing about it yet. my only concern would be ensuring it was mounted in the right spot to still use the existing crossmember too, although i guess its not actually needed...also it looks like there may of been some additional plates welded onto the area? ideally i'd like one which used the existing mounts for the strap that came on my 260z, but i dont think it would be worth the measure up and get made over the above setup
  2. since you already have the gold throughout parts of your car my vote would have to be for millenium jade off r34 gtr NUR's - which have gold rocker covers conincidently
  3. yep, i just measured up the squares on my 260z and a five by five patch measured 84mm horizontally and vertically i personally prefer the larger diamonds of the 240z, but after looking at the interiors of a lambo large squares look pretty nice
  4. just koni red's - so have to be removed to be adjusted. the car felt really well balanced with them on the settings they're on - so i think for now i'll just put the front strut tops in the rear to lower it that extra little bit and leave it for if i'm ever rolling in money lol - then go coilovers. Although i probably should of just gotten them to begin with.
  5. i'd give toperformance a call (in vermont, vic) as they are the koni distributors for australia and are familiar with zeds - they put mine in for me, but can't remember what settings they said were used
  6. i think that might be true of lots of 350z owners - particually the ones who dont know what a 240z is. but the 370z has a shorter wheelbase, is lighter, and has more power so its going the way it should be unlike the 280zx
  7. i'd have to say i'd buy one if they were US$30g converted directly to australian dollars and it was a year ago - and ofcourse i had the money lol it seriously just looks like the 350z and 240z had a love child, so there are still bits about it that dont look so true to the 240z, but its still a step up. and while some bits of it are ugly - particulaly that nismo one, nothing some other body kit may not be able to fix. some angle still look kinda weird though... http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/2008/12/05/issue-3-sneak-peek-datsun-240z-nissan-370z/ http://www.370zblog.com/2008/12/06/new-nissan-z-photos-from-nissan-gallery-ginza/#more-215 if it's deamed that i require a side indicator on my car it looks like it will be a nice option also - but would still prefer one off a current statesman
  8. ...is this proof that everyone prefers the 2 seaters??? hehe i'd be interested in getting the parts required for an RB conversion at the same time as you to save on postage, and since you can actully weld, if ur modifying bits and peices i'll happily fix you up to do a set for me at the same time how much does a set of arrowlites cost? i can see y you dont want to go down the flare path - i currently have the front flares off my car and it looks really tough with the rims on it, although they just stick out to far to not have flares
  9. that sucks, i'm surprised they dont just use some undercover section when it rains!?! but then i guess a few of the cars prob dont get driven in the rain anyway for reasons like ur mates cars lol
  10. what kinda times are most of the cars there? i was thinking of going, but the weather seems pretty crap
  11. so with this setup you'd loose some of your suspensions compression travel yeah? although thats the case no matter what unless you section the strut and get some shorter shocks for it? it looks interesting, would they b legal to have on a street car?
  12. gav, is there a way in the gallery we can make it so everyone can upload their pics to a certain section? i dont know if this is how the events are currently setup, although there is no 2008 folder lol here's a couple of automatically merged pics i took of the line up when we pulled over - thanks to those who let me ride along dam i miss driving my zed
  13. http://epanote2.epa.vic.gov.au/EPA/Publications.nsf/2f1c2625731746aa4a256ce90001cbb5/c90ec843f3bbbe8fca256d9f00181c59/$FILE/1031.pdf specifically the following would make it seem as though, if you had the motor with the factory induction setup you wouldn't need an engineers? (although 3f could be argued i guess?) specially since in their example the engines are even of the same brand! or is this just the EPA's point of view? and its the difference in power which means you need an engineers cert?
  14. dam your car's clean When i was taking off the vents on the bonnet i have i noticed the passenger side seems to have one stud thats long enough for two nuts to fit on it - one effectively being a spacer for the shield, which i assume is there to help with assembly. Where the drivers side doesn't have it - which makes me think it wasn't there from the factory on Aus cars atleast. 240z you're right, it would be easy enough to make up one that does the job, although looking orginal would be hard without access to some nicer equipment.
  15. thanks for the info - i wonder y someone ever took one side off then, as it appears as though the bonnet still has its orginal paint on it etc I dont like my chances of finding one - unless someone has a smashed up bonnet?
  16. on the vented bonnet i picked up, it has a shield below the passenger side vent, yet the other side its straight through. It looks like this is the way they were from the factory, and i am curious as to if anyone knows the reasons y. Also if anyone has removed the shield to help vent more air? On the bonnet it also has a sticker that states the motor type as an L26T - any ideas as to what the T stands for?
  17. you realise the 240z and 260z trim is different yeah? 240z is actully a diamond where 260z is a square. if i were to get mine redone i think i'd want it stitched, not stamped - although i'm sure this woudl be dam $$$$$
  18. http://video.kenblockracing.com/flash/player/index.php?vendor_id=204&video_id=9183 pretty cool
  19. that guy's posted a few pics of his car up on hybridz before, particually in regards to his side emblems. he also basically has the number plates i want, his being rb24oz...dam not being in nsw lol would be a nice car to own!
  20. looks awesome! Get some more pics up! I'll hopefully start painting my car over this summer the colour of that in my display pic, which will look quite similar. I think orange front lights might look quite cool on it!?!
  21. sorry can't copy and paste on my stupid phone but add me to the list, pending final price and finances at the time, but 90% sure
  22. if its all done right anyway, shouldn't the engineers only cost $700ish? Only a bit more than a years normal rego? do you have a price for your ecu and throttle body set up too? or your attached to it after the effort you've put in, and have hopes to put it back in one day?
  23. Hey, stupid/weird question. I'm wanting to go to a costume party in a race suit (this weekend) - yet have the issue of not owning one. So was wondering if anyone knew of a place you could hire one for a few days, or has one i could hire off them? Or would recommend a particular style/best value for money one to buy, as eventually I will need to own one Thanks -Evan
  24. If only we had as many car trailers as zed's which weren't currently registered!?! then my car could make it also...
  25. the previous owner of my car had a beam made up that goes between the bumper mounts under the grill, using the same bolts, and mounted some hella 150watt driving lights there. I've also retrofitted e46 xenon projectors (only low beam) into some 7" housings (pictures in a thread here somewhere), which was a huge improvement over the sealed beams - and the proper way to do HID's as the lense has the correct focal length for them, and you dont blind oncoming traffic as you do by putting hid's into reflector housings which aren't made for them.
