    WIDEBODY 240z

modding those fenders to have sugar scoops still looks like a bit of work
  3. you can't go wrong with a DSLR, i've had fun lately playing around with my bro's older 300D - although to get the most out of them you really wanna start buying a few different lenses and it does start to add up (he wants to get a really wide lense, which alone is $600ish), and it possibly gets annoying to change between them - and then its something big and bulky to carry around, so it depends how important a really nice shot is to you since you go fishing you might want to consider getting a crapper drop/water resistant camera, while they are only point and shot type ones you can get photos you could never get otherwise, just from the fact you can confidently hold it 1cm above the water and not worry about destroying it - half above and half below photos look quite cool too i'm planning to get a tz5 (tz15 in australian shops) or tz7 when they come out as they are a good compromise between an slr and a point and shot - while also doing HD quality video, and a wide angle lense (25-28mm) with 10x zoom. here are some photos taken from one of them http://www.brendanstromberger.com/hdr/ the other camera which is catching my eye are those from fuji as they have a larger sensor (like DSLR's) so get much better night time shots, while still having 5x zoom starting from 28mm - check them out at www.dpreview.com
  4. is that the one that is wide and bolts into the floor in a few positions? does anyone know of a gearbox mount which you can buy for rbz's that can easily be dropped out so you dont have to take the engine out to get to the gearbox? or is it as simple as using one from a skyline etc and welding appropriate tabs to the car?
  5. i've gotten a couple of cash settlements from insurance companies (always the person at fault's company, never my own) on cars i didn't care about, and replacements were easily obtainable from a wrecker for alot less - but i'm not sure how your actual insurance company would feel about it as you are not meant to be driving the car around with any damage on it etc. Normally the cash settlement they offer is a bit lower than the average of the quotes you obtain, so discard any low ballers
  6. where abouts are you located?
  7. i generally like my pictures with a darker contrast than normal, but you can tell alot of detail has been lost. however as an effect and a way to save otherwise unusable pics it doesn't look half bad! ...y can't they just give me the 370z instead of crushing it!?! :'(
  8. what version was the 370z? i'm assuming just the normal as it doesn't have the forged rays wheels the ones overseas seem to b getting? and no riced gold calipers? or is it not an option in australia? nice photos, it will be interesting to see what nissan ends up using from their stash! surly_z, did you adjust the hell out of the levels in your pics, or something else? ie y's it so black and white in this pic edit: who has the NEO in their car?
  9. hope you have an amazing time guys!
  10. thanks for the kind words guys, down in tassie two weeks ago was the first time i'd tried this kind of photography, and this meet was the first time on cars - there's really nothing to it, except for playing around with the merging of the photos, but its not really any different skill wise to adjusting the levels/saturation in photoshop. you just have to have a camera that will do exposure bracketing (trying to decide which camera i want buy is what spurred me to give it a shot), and a tripod ideally. but i was using my brothers canon 300D with a fixed lense to let as much light in as possible, as i didn't have a tripod with me this limited the photos i could take a fair bit, specially as it got darker. i only really took pics of cars that didn't have another car next to it, so i dont have any of yours sorry rev, except for the engine bay one. pm me your email address's if you want the pics, i'll get round to sending them within a few days. how much do you charge for all you do gav? i'd be happy to take photos for whatever, i'm hoping to give the style my mate does a shot (http://www.tangcla.com/photos/eurotrash_081025/index.htm) as i reakon they look cool, and wouldnt' mind building up a rig for that moving style of shot.
  11. hehe, its the only one where its one car by itself - was trying to name them ambiguously if only i had a tripod and knew how to use the camera properally, but these ones came out alright and they are fun to process! 2 more of the rb26 beast. so how many core is the radiator again? if anyone wants high res versions of their car just let me know, particually Sinisha as i have quite a collection of his, lol
  12. last ones, with the maximum HDR effect in the last photo, along with the normal exposure of the same image
  13. 1 more then some HDR's
  14. here are some normal shots
  15. i was the dag walking around with the camera and lying on the ground! i talked to your son for a bit
  16. here's the only photo i've processed so far, i needed to bring a tripod, way to many blurry ones - but my bro had left them in at his work awesome car by the way, if you want the full res image let me know
  17. here's a couple of pics from my recent holiday in tassie using my bro's DSLR. I was mainly interested in playing with exposure bracketing, and had my first shot of playing with HDR software, and tried to keep the photos looking realistic (boatshed and the sunset)
  18. i'm pretty sure i have a pair of koni's sitting here, not sure if they are the front or back though, and they might need a rebuild...which is a couple of hundred from memory was the local distrubtor toperformance in vermont? coz they are the australian importer so they should b the cheapest
  19. ...wanna swap? what sort of 1/4 mile times have you previously run? and what modifications have you made to the fuel tank/system?
  20. I think differnt yr 25 are different, some are push, some are pull, atleast from reading stuff on hybridz it's the impression I get, a fair few ppl have put 25 gearbox's onto 26's, and it's what I hope to do when I can justify wasting the cash
  21. one of the things I liked about the sounds of rust bullet over por is the lack of preparation, meaning they can't blame it being done 'incorrectly' as the reason for the product not working. In regards to bog, I'd go get some epoxy resin filler from a marine supplier as they as made for areas below the water line, so do not absorb moisture, and have the added bonus of being less brittle. Then in this case there is no need to por over the top of the bog (logically, and as far as I'm aware)
  22. u could get spares of the air vents and modify them (I don't feel air out of them anyway) or make up a rectangular plate you can shove in there? I think they come withsome mounting hardware so u could just screw into the inside of the dash inside the vent? In terms of wiring I think u can just give them the front signal from the headunit, but just ask jb hifi when u go to buy them. I think the key is to buy decent tweeters, I was surprised (the first time) when I found out it was all they were running
  23. starting to hear bad stories about distant family friends etc, worst has been people who evacutaed to a safe house only to be trapt and die there... I'm down in tassie atm but it will be weird coming back and seeing it all, specially since we have been discussing that our family should move to panton hill/kinglake over the last few months
  24. 240z and 260z door trims look slightly different and have different handles, but I'm interested to know if the physical shapes will fit on each others doors Regarding the inner door skins needing to be cut, it would depend on the depth of the speaker and how bit the pod is you use to space it off the door (and angle it up to your ears) as there is metal directly behind the trim - I stupidly just realized one of the rust free doors I bought for my car has an extra hole cut in it for a speaker, so I can only assume this was done to make the speaker sit flush so not to impose on leg room Since it's only the high frequencies which have trouble when not in line of sight I think tweaters up the front behind the airvents would work well, I haven't tried it in the zed but the vents r ment to simply pull out, and a couple of my mates had 6x9's with tweeters up the front in their cars and it fixed the sound coming from behind feeling quite alot, and tweeters are cheapish anyway! (unless titanium etc lol)
  25. Depending on the 'pod' u use to mount them they might impose on leg room? and in order for them to sit flush on the door you have to cut into the inner door skin I think some tweeters mounted behind the airvents on the sides of the dash might fill the gap nicely Anyone know if 240z panels fit onto 260z doors? As the carbon ones made by the person in America are dam sexy, and if the AUD and postage didn't suck they would b nice
