  1. When we started the Auszcar cruises in Victoria we sometimes would have 4-5 cars maybe show. As time went by though we started to get more and more involved. If you need help promoting events on the front page please let me know.
  2. What a shame, I think its worse when you built the car yourself rather than bought it if you know what I mean. All that time effort and pride and some looser comes along and thinks he'll do something constructive. When that happens I just wish I could catch them in the act. I have had my 240z reversed into twice and damaged the front end, no note just drove off. Then my step father didn't install garage lights properly and one fell on my Z causing a huge dent down the front left fender. I almost exploded with anger, but try and look on the bright side at least it is repairable (hopefully not from your pocket) and it wasn't a write off or anything like that. If insurance won't cover it let us know what the damage is (value wise), maybe we can start a donation to Rev pool to help you out with the cost. I'd be willing to send you $10 or something to help out.

Nice seats, for a second I thought this was the new Z34 interior .
  4. Awesome Zed, one of the best race cars I've seen. I'm digging the L-series engine build that's for sure. The translation made me laugh though.
  5. A good project car from the looks of it. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-260Z-2-2_W0QQitemZ180331321600QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item180331321600&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A16|39%3A1|240%3A1318
  6. This one? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-280ZX-COMPLETE-DRIVABLE-SER-II-240Z-260Z-DATSUN_W0QQitemZ260364350907QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item260364350907&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A16|39%3A1|240%3A1318
  7. I'm sure I saw it on Zhome http://www2.zhome.com:81/History/history.html Mentions crash tests. Avert your eyes children! Good thread on Classiczcars.com http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9346&highlight=crash+tests
  8. Unfortunately it seems everyone is selling their toys right now. Be patient the right buyer will come along .
  9. I'd also like to thank Craig for organising the event I know he put alot of time and effort into planning and preparing everything. Great to see the 370z with all the other Zeds, looks like we were missing a 280zx and 300zx (Z32) to complete the whole set of the series.
  10. Yeah just saw the pics, wish I could have been there. Looks like a good turnout.

That's quite a line up of Zeds there. How many showed up?
  12. This topic has been moved to Triple Carbuerettors. [iurl]http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=3364.0[/iurl]
  13. I'm a big fan of SU's as I've seen how good they can work on a well sorted L28. I bought triple Mikuni's myself but haven't put them on yet. They cost me $1000 AU landed from the US, but the linkages don't look that flash to me. I know by the time I get it tuned to my motor with the right jets / venturi's / linkages and maybe even a new manifold (US manifold has a bend in it to allow for MC clearance), not to mention dyno time it will be an easy $2000 AU invested. I'm tempted to ditch the set up and possibly consider EFI. It might cost a bit more but I think it would be great. Of course old school carbs do have a certain exotic sound about them.
  14. Next time let me know in advance and I'll put a link on the front page for you . Hope its a good day for you.
  15. I asked him if we could feature his cars on the website. He sounded happy to do it, but perhaps forgot to send through the details. I'll have to follow up again and ask him. It would be really cool I think. Do you have his contact details still?
  16. Wow, that's exactly what I wanted to do here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3710.0.html Love the Enkei style rims.
  17. Hey man, what's going on here? Why did you end up selling the race car after all that work? Did you end up selling it?
  18. Its a foot rest not another pedal. I like the wheels, anyone know what type they are?
  19. Welcome, please have a gander through this guide to posting in the classifieds. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,1449.0.html
  20. Agreed Redbook probably values a 240z at $12k still for concourse condition. At least I know several sites were still putting a concourse 240z at that value. 260z 2+2's are still relatively common compared to a 240z or 260z 2 seater. The problem with the 2+2's is that so many are badly neglected that finding a good condition one is difficult. Because most 2+2's seem to be in relatively the same condition the pricing of them seems to have stalled. As more and more end up in the crusher (unfortunately) they will become rarer and more expensive.
  21. Someone do me a favour and take a spare distributor. The 1 and only time my 240z has over broken down was due to a Distributor. If you don't take a whole distributor at least take the dizzy module E12 (I think they are) as a spare.
  22. Would be interested, just need to wait for my tax return to go into my Australian account. (Currently overseas) If you don't sell it before then, which is probably a week or so away send me a PM as a reminder.
  23. I've always admired this Zcar, I think the Flares are perfect. Dare I say it, I think I prefer them to the ZG style as they are so smooth and don't interupt the perfect lines of the 240z. On this page. http://www.zparts.com/indexes/inprogress.html Might be worth getting in contact with Eric the sites owner and asking him about the Flare specs I'm sure plenty of other owners would love a set (myself included). eric (at) zparts.com
  24. Awesome Evan, what are the Camera specs? Are you studying photography? Would be great if you could photo all our feature cars for the front page like that? Sinisha, fancy doing a front page article on your Zed, Evan seems to have already taken a handful of shots for it lol. How much do you charge Evan?
  25. A machine shop should know how much meat to take off it. They basically carve the center of it out. It will make a big difference to how the car revs (faster, but revs drop quicker too), take in your harmonic balancer with it as they will need to match the assembly. Your harmonic balancer might be stuffed (all original zed ones deteriorate over the years). If it is stuffed you can destroy your bottom end bearings in the motor, so its worth fixing the old one or replacing it with an aftermarket one. I noticed my engine was alot snappier when I changed the flywheel, it really revved quickly and the curved electronic distrbutor really made it a beast, can't wait to put a huge cam in it and triple mikuni's. Depends on what you want honestly, the more I think about the L31 build the less I think its actually neccessary for a good L28. That is LD28 crank and overbore. You could take it out to 2.9ltr if you want. For a budget build, I'd consider an L28 crank with L24 rods and shorter pistons (depends on CR ratio though). L24 rods are better as they are longer and the rod / crank ratio is better = better revving engine. I would probably invest my money in port work for the E88 and pay special attention to the valve areas. That's just my opinion though, I'm not an engine building expert. What camshaft have you got in it?
