Hey Mike, Is there any advantage to using this box? Are the ratios any good? I would be tempted to bid on this item but have no way of shipping it.

Sorry correction, just checked my Analytics stats it appears in the last month 30% of traffic to the site has signed into the forum at least once. Where as 70% has not, so yes there are lots of people watching what is going on.

Definitely, perhaps we could feature the car on the homepage of the site with a write up about the event and your win. Looks awesome and would make for a great read I am sure.

Yeah my web analytics shows me the distribution of members (people who sign in) vs new visitors who are not yet registered. Its pretty much half / half. You also note that many people who register often "confess" to trolling for a while before taking the plunge to get involved with the community. Anyway im up for a laugh as much as anyone, but I did suspect it must have been some kind of joke when I first saw it. It was simply too cheap! Funny though you used to be able to find bargains like this some years back.

Incidentally this has got me thinking there should be a Television show for car owners. Kind of like "what not to wear" for fashion victims. Except of course its what not to do to your vehicle, we could go up to people on the street who put Altezza style rear lights on their car and ask them "what were you thinking?". I always feel sorry for guys who have spent loads of money on their import and then advertise it in on carsales, ebay etc.. Asking some ludacris price for something that looks absolutely hideous.

Sigh this is why I like the Z style left alone. Its perfect the way it is, of course I like the Gnose / Flare look with wide wheels, but trying to adapt different styles has always been off-putting to me. Its not an American Muscle car so stop trying to make it 1. I generally prefer the original set of tail lamps on the Zs although I don´t mind the 240K rear skyline lights and have seen it on Japanese Zs but I would only put them on my Z if I could easily swap them back out again and without cutting the body etc.. I guess I´ve seen my fare share of attempts at improving the Z over the years and the more I think about it the more I prefer them looking externally as close to stock or with factory option parts than anything else.

Hey Scoota awesome work, I love the Air Cleaner organge. Where did you get the paint colour from? Good to see the old girl getting resurrected. A shame about the accident but at least its getting the love now it needs. Keep her nice and original orange.

All I will say is that perhaps this thread should have waited for April 1st. I was going to post my own 240z for sale on April 1st just to cause a stir and see what interest there would have been but at the last minute decided not to. I guess we should be mindful of those who troll the forum looking for that bargain. Trust me there are plenty of them out there looking.

Agree I'm a bit far to check it out myself, but could be good. Looks like he has a potential Aladdin's cave over there. Looks like another 2 seater next to that 2+2 never know you could pick up a cheap 2 seater just by heading down for a look-see.

Man I feel your pain, same thing happened to me a few years back. The damage was more minimal but I was so upset and angry. I feel your rage, and I feel sorry for you. This is why I stopped driving my Z to university I was too worried about it.

The 77 model was probably fuel injected, as a result the L20A(E) rods (Like the L24E) are probably not what you want since these have a smaller journal from my understanding and can't be used with the L28 crank. I'm sure Nzeder will know better than I since they got the L20A motor in NZ.

Of course we would be happy to have a write up of it featured on this site too. Looks like its progressing along nicely, going be a rocket that's for sure.

Looks great, I'd say any parts for a Prince GTB would be impossible to find now. Do you know if Gavin Strongman ever made more of the Airboxes he put on his 260z?

No problem just hit the quote button on the post you want to reply to. Yes I've been looking for a drivers side 240z mirror for a RHD car for sometime and have heard they are NLA. As you say the LHD mirror is the only alternative most can come up with, which is not good enough for me. I do know of 1 very resourceful man who may be able to help. He is a member of this forum and pops in on occasion. Not sure I can help on the glass, other than to suggest looking on US eBay for it. However shipping would be risky, the 1/4 windows are pretty sturdy though but not sure about the left and right hand doors. I have a question for you though, can you get 240z door mirrors for a RHD vehicle? I've been searching for 1 of these for a while now.

It may sound obvious but don't try cutting or welding your old tank even if you think its empty. Fuel vapor in a confined space could still kill or mame you. If your fuel tank has rust its likely due to sitting for a long time. A fuel tank full of fuel is very unlikely to cause dramas the fuel prevents rust from starting. What carbs are you running? If they are 260z flat tops junk em' after you replace the fuel tank and get a set of 240z carbs and rebuild them. If you clogged up your fuel lines with rust and other junk. Your carbs could also have been contaminated and inhibit your flaots, needles and nozzles or even block your float chamber. Hopefully not for you sake, but if she runs like crap after replacing the tank and fuel lines / filters well you know where to look next.

I can't believe I missed this post before. It looks great the difference between new and old. I got the Just SU's video from www.ztherapy.com and have been watching it, only got through 2 of the 4 hours so far, but the information is fantastic and will certainly help you get SU's running correctly. So how is the car running now, did you notice a huge difference? I'm guessing just getting the floats right will help get the car running better. My 240z runs ok, but now I've seen this I'm going to pull my carbs apart and inspect them properly. I have a spare set of good condition 240z carbs that I can rebuild on the bench.

Great to see another update. I guess you are keeping the colour a surprise until its done? I'm sure you picked a great colour and can't wait to see it with a lick of paint on it. Bodywork looks amazing so far.
