  1. The early 240z's had the clear lenses then in 73 they changed to the split amber / clear indicator style. In the US they had the amber style, so maybe that's why they are under the impression they are not road legal. In Australia However they should be fine, since my Z has the clear ones and I had no problems getting a RWC.

    Awesome L series

s20 motor so not the same as l6 donk
  3. Hmm I might have to get the original mirrors reproduced. I have 2 bullet mirrors but I changed my mind on them. They are nice but I like my zeds original.
  4. I'll be in San fransisco next month and might be able to take a look if its not too far from there.
  5. I got a second hand console from the US, it was carefully packed and made it in 1 piece. Has some minor cracks but I will eventually get it professionally repaired. My old 1 was split in 2 pieces. I got it off E-bay can't recall how much for I think like $30 USD, but shipping added a bit more (maybe $30 AU?) I don't know for sure now. If I had a spare console I'd swap you for that mirror. I really need a mirror for my 240z . You can buy the console brand new but it will cost you a fair bit I think (edit: 286.95 US). http://www.datsunrestore.com/catalog.html I'm 95% sure the LHD and RHD cars had the same console. Maybe someone with a parts catalogue can confirm.
  6. I'd consider paying $150 for a mirror not a problem. I can't even find 1 though.
  7. C'mon give it up. I need 1 myself, so any leads or help you can give us would be great.
  8. Still looking for one myself, very hard to find for a RHD car. Best of luck if you find 1 let me know.
  9. here is a good demonstration of using a spot welder.
  10. So a small update. Some may have noticed I have been making changes to the Member Rides section of the site. Most are template changes, when I moved from our last content management system it was easier at the time to just have 1 image per featured ride. Now its possible to have an unlimited (but I stick to 6 for now). I haven't finished converting all member rides to the new format, but the ones I've done so far exist under this URL: http://www.viczcar.com/member-rides Which is alot friendly than the older: http://www.viczcar.com/taxonomy/term/11 I've got the process down to a point where its pretty straight forward to publish a new member ride on the site. The most time consuming part of this process is getting content. That is getting you guys to send me details and photos . I have a car lined up for February, but don't let that put you off submitting details. I'd rather have to catch up with all your submissions than chase you guys up . Thanks and hope you enjoy member rides.
  11. Happy Birthday mate, you're only as feel as your old
  12. That's not very nice Lurch, poor guy is gutted he bought a lemon.
  13. Found a burgundy 240z on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/240z-datsun_W0QQitemZ140377150025QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars Seems like they are all coming out of hiding lately. Must be a wife's New Years resolution, "sell that bloody Z".
  14. Never been, but I am over that side of the world I guess. It would be good to see it.
  15. Touche! How did I miss that opportunity to poke the bear?
  16. I was going to mention the same thing, but I guess the ad spoke for itself. Nice car as stated but certainly not concourse condition.
  17. A 71 240z on Carsales.com.au. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=8193121 Asking close to 30k....
  18. Oh and I do recall another Red Silvia (repainted) being sold on an Australian Datsun forum. The tail lights were replaced with Datsun 1200 coupe lights. Not sure where she is now either.
  19. Not sure if I saw the same 1, I distinctively remember it was a Brown colour though and the boot lid was dented inward in a triangle fashion. The steering wheel was no longer original replaced with a SAAS item from memory (8 years ago this was) and I don't think it had the standard wheels anymore. I recall it being parked near my high school which was in Caulfield (Glen Eira College) and I later saw it being driven in a Chadstone car park. I remember dragging my mates outside of school boundaries to go see it, I'm glad I did that now. I've never seen another 1 in person. I remember speaking to Warren at Zworx about it, he mentioned the owner wasn't selling it. So I figure it may have been the same car. I do wonder where it is now, I only hope it wasn't scrapped.
  20. Bumpity Bump.... I still need details for a January Member Ride on the homepage. Feel free to shoot me the details...
  21. haha, at $1,800 AU there all yours . I got mine into Australia for about $1100 all up. But I labelled them as Motorcycle parts because car parts attract import tax . So it would have cost more than that.
  22. Lower it on its arse by a ridiculous amount and put some fender flares on it and hey presto you might get covered in every car blog on the Internets.
  23. Or you can just connect through a proxy server . So obviously IP address isn't fool proof, but most scammers are too lazy to cover their tracks. Take half the spammers from Russia who used to have spam bots register on the forum. I just looked in the server logs and saw all their IP's and blocked them. Since doing that its been pretty spam bot free (hold my breathe on that) but, in most circumstances it works pretty well.
  24. I love to hate Facetube. I like it because I can keep in contact with my friends back in Australia and they can see photos of where I've been. I hate it because everytime I sign in I find myself doing nothing useful, so its a big waste of time.
  25. Hey Paul, I think it was more that your first post on the forum was about selling your Z and from an overseas country. Since the forum is mostly Australian members. Usually people introduce themselves, but I guess under your circumstance you were looking to sell it as soon as possible. Often we have spam and scammers register on the forum and post gobbledegook about sending them money via paypal or other kinds of scams. So it was more the vagueness of your post that got people suspicious than anything else. All the best and after your wedding perhaps you will get into a 240/260 again.
