  1. I saw that HS30 00859 on eBay has steel wheels and caps with these Bridgestone B series B249 tyres. https://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/au/bridgestone/b_series/b249#available-sizes_rimdiameter=14 They are a slightly different aspect ratio however: 185/75R14 But have a clean 'period' look that works for 14" Topy's.
  2. HS30 00859 is for sale. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185834580486
  3. Yes, from 1972 onwards. Same as LHD style mirror found in North American cars but the stalk is slightly different angle.
  4. Hi Dennis, First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. If you want rust repair done right, the best place to go is @C.A.R. https://www.facebook.com/ClassicAutomotiveRestorations/ Although there may be a wait list at this point.
  5. Sorted, thanks everyone!
  6. Quick bump before I'm forced to use EvilBay?
  7. I was gonna ask about which borescope, I've seen several cheap ones but was wondering how good they were. Does this connect to your smart phone?
  8. I normally wouldn't allow such blatant advertorial, but in this case I'll approve this post.
  9. Japanese Commodore or BMW M3. :). I actually was looking at these too recently. Seem like good value for money and a bit under the radar.
  10. That's not usually how it works.
  11. Probably can't count this 1, because it was a charity / money raising auction. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-229/ $124,000 USD. ~$188,192.44 AUD at today's exchange rate (thanks RBA).
  12. Hi guys, Due to me doing something stupid when fitting the firewall rubber grommet (I popped off the bell crank, non adjustable end). I've ruined the linkage that goes between the accelerator and the first turn buckle as shown in the photos. Does anyone have this spare part (the rod assembly)? I believe 240z/260z/2+2 etc.. should all be the same in this part of the accelerator linkage set up. Found a couple on eBay (where the photo with the accelerator is from) but would prefer to buy local and save on the $60-70 USD shipping cost if possible. Thanks, Gavin.
  13. Plenty of S30z's have been selling for $100k plus well before Covid. The Japanese market 432 and 240ZG's for example. But even in North America the earliest cars have been getting 6 figures for a while. I don't know if this car is 'mint', but it is nice. $160,000 USD. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-101/ But different markets of classic cars are doing different things at the moment. The 90s JDM bubble appears to be popping. Just as night follows day, there is still a lot of those cars out there. Unlike S30z's which are quite rare by comparison these days and often require a lot of cash to restore the bodies on. Which I think will help them maintain values over the 90s stuff in the short term. Longer term the 90s stuff will come back again, but not before everyone goes broke first due to a global recession.
  14. Ask a blind woman/man who is used to reading in braille to help find the dots?
  15. I'm loving the rear quarter panel repair work.
  16. I bought a carcoon and it's very expensive for what it is, but breathes and protects the car from the elements and keeps it trickle charged. If the car is in a carport you can get a drive in carport version which just zips up. I would like to get 1 myself. I have an outdoor version but it's a pain to take the car out and put cover back on when done. Just takes time and a bit of faffing about. The drive in version would be much easier to live with, but I suspect requires a carport because it has tent like metal bars to give it shape so perhaps in wind the concern is that it may hit into the body of the car. Where as the outdoor version has no supports and just inflates.
  17. Good to know, I had a cheeky bid on these last night. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e1081298317 but I was a bit nervous about corrosion around the the brake line thread and figured a rebuild won't be a cheap exercise anyway. Plus I was a bit anxious about Australian customs and having used brake pads imported (for asbestos reasons). So let it slide for now.

  19. HS30 11243 More photos of it in the registry/gallery. Bonnet has definitely had a love tap at some point, leading edge looks "thicker" than factory steel, suggesting a bit of nikki (body filler).
  20. Probably but we are an Australian site mostly. So not sure on UK tax laws for imported classic cars. We do have a couple of UK members who may be able to clarify or help if they see this post.
  21. So it appears that it's a 4 speed box (if it's come from an HLS30), therefore I'll keep looking. Thanks anyway, really appreciate the offer all the same.
