  1. I think the Real Estate market recovery is a bit of a false dawn. Everyone is front-running the RBA re: dropping rates thinking prices will bounce/boom again. But I don't think inflation is anywhere near under control and I don't think the RBA is done raising rates - they should have gone hard, earlier and raised more quickly and more basis points, but they have jumped the shark on this 1 and now we are all experiencing more pain. Of course RBA are not the only ones to blame on this IMHO. Government could be doing more to moderate energy prices and not run such crazy immigration numbers which is putting rents higher (rents and energy go into CPI calculation). TL;DR - is more pain ahead.
  2. Think it's just timing, all indicators are that a recession is on the horizon. Not just S30Z's, but other Japanese classics are not really moving and piling up on the market. At least there is only a handful of Zeds on the market at any given time.
  3. It's crazy that it can't sell. But that is the current market we're in.
  4. Might have been a scammer account I deleted mate.
  5. Hi mate, Here is 1 that might be worth a punt. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d1091068228
  6. Just did another clean up of recent spammy looking joins. Also be wary I saw at least 1 other PM to a user that looked like an attempt to extract money out of our members and not deliver a product or service. Be wary scammers are back.

    Efi turbo L26

Is it the same diameter as the other coolant freeze plugs in the block?

    Efi turbo L26

https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/ The Stagea boys love running the OP6 high flow turbos. Make about 300kw. Plenty in a Z.

Are you running an L26? I believe 44mm valves in an L26 bore may require notching in the block to accommodate the larger valves. Since L24/L26 bores are the same, it's just that the L26 got the longer stroke crank (same as L28). https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/70734-notchingbevelingbutterfly-l24-block-for-valve-clearance/ EG: https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/70734-notchingbevelingbutterfly-l24-block-for-valve-clearance/?do=findComment&comment=672237
  10. I saw that HS30 00859 on eBay has steel wheels and caps with these Bridgestone B series B249 tyres. https://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/au/bridgestone/b_series/b249#available-sizes_rimdiameter=14 They are a slightly different aspect ratio however: 185/75R14 But have a clean 'period' look that works for 14" Topy's.
  11. HS30 00859 is for sale. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185834580486
  12. Yes, from 1972 onwards. Same as LHD style mirror found in North American cars but the stalk is slightly different angle.
  13. Hi Dennis, First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. If you want rust repair done right, the best place to go is @C.A.R. https://www.facebook.com/ClassicAutomotiveRestorations/ Although there may be a wait list at this point.
  14. Sorted, thanks everyone!
  15. Quick bump before I'm forced to use EvilBay?
  16. I was gonna ask about which borescope, I've seen several cheap ones but was wondering how good they were. Does this connect to your smart phone?
  17. I normally wouldn't allow such blatant advertorial, but in this case I'll approve this post.
  18. Japanese Commodore or BMW M3. :). I actually was looking at these too recently. Seem like good value for money and a bit under the radar.
  19. That's not usually how it works.
  20. Probably can't count this 1, because it was a charity / money raising auction. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-229/ $124,000 USD. ~$188,192.44 AUD at today's exchange rate (thanks RBA).
  21. Hi guys, Due to me doing something stupid when fitting the firewall rubber grommet (I popped off the bell crank, non adjustable end). I've ruined the linkage that goes between the accelerator and the first turn buckle as shown in the photos. Does anyone have this spare part (the rod assembly)? I believe 240z/260z/2+2 etc.. should all be the same in this part of the accelerator linkage set up. Found a couple on eBay (where the photo with the accelerator is from) but would prefer to buy local and save on the $60-70 USD shipping cost if possible. Thanks, Gavin.
  22. Plenty of S30z's have been selling for $100k plus well before Covid. The Japanese market 432 and 240ZG's for example. But even in North America the earliest cars have been getting 6 figures for a while. I don't know if this car is 'mint', but it is nice. $160,000 USD. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-101/ But different markets of classic cars are doing different things at the moment. The 90s JDM bubble appears to be popping. Just as night follows day, there is still a lot of those cars out there. Unlike S30z's which are quite rare by comparison these days and often require a lot of cash to restore the bodies on. Which I think will help them maintain values over the 90s stuff in the short term. Longer term the 90s stuff will come back again, but not before everyone goes broke first due to a global recession.
