  1. Hey Vince, Thanks for that, I'll send you a PM. I hope you're well yourself with everything going on.
  2. Haha, that was actually a joke to go with Achilles. The godfather said it to stir me, but I actually liked the name Achilles. We've gone with the name Ryan, middle name still not settled yet.
  3. Believe me I'm done with collecting. Gotta build a proper garage to store them all in!
  4. I believe all the 2 seaters are private imports. I'd be surprised if there was more than 20 here to be honest. Only 1 I ever saw in person was Simon's black car that sold recently.
  5. I'm glad, I was a bit worried. Ha. But someone has to inherit all my JDMs in future. May swap you a 2 seater for that 2+2! But my Rx7 had rear seats but I out the storage bins and Recaros on it. So I'll need to swap back to the recliner seats and rear buckets. That should work for a small boy until age 10 maybe. Also got the Stagea we can enjoy as a family. I will probably keep the white 240z automatic so the wife can drive it with the little 1 riding shot gun and I can take another Z out and go to club meetings or drive days together. Hopefully the little guy likes cars as much as me.
  6. I saved the images for posterity. It was a little rough alright. Despite being stored under cover. 904 white with red interior car. Looks like it was a hoarders lot. Wonder if it indeed sold? And how much?
  7. Is it the 71a 5 speed box? I know that Fairlady Z-S likely got a 4 speed box where as Z-L probsbly got the early 71a 5 speed like AU market cars.
  8. True, but that's why we need a halo version of a Z. Something higher priced with premium fit and finish but also performance.
  9. There is just something special about a GTR. Even my Nissan Stagea feels special when I drive it. The Rb26 etc.. when I got into an R34 GTR I just felt like this is fantastic, this is truly special. Same when I drove my FD RX7. I don't get that excited with the 350/370z platform. It just feels generic. It's a bit like Seinfeld, not particularly funny but everyone can watch it and get some mild laughs. The GTR really appeals to part of your brain that appreciates exceptional engineering and a package that is well put together. I just wish they would make the Z feel special. The way my old 240z's feel special. I know it's not easy to replicate that feeling, but the modern Z's are all so toned down, and the silhouettes of the current proposed car just oozes more blandness. I really hope I'm wrong.
  10. Blue interior seats for sale. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brigadoon/other-parts-accessories/240z-seats/1253918700?utm_source=messenger&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=android_VIP_sticky Same seller is selling #501 so this could be the original seats from the car. Indicating an original blue interior car. I sent the seller a message to see if I can confirm.
  11. Look at it this way, if it was absolutely perfect I'd be thinking of which 240z to sell to buy it. So if it's another generic 350z/370z type deal, I won't be tempted to sell anything.. I just wish Nissan did justice to the S30Z the same they do for GTRs, I mean every GTR has been a success and become a legend, but I feel they get soft on the Z. They should go back to the S30Z concept, have a simple reliable and powerful engine in the budget version, but create a halo version that shares the same engine as the GTR with similar peformance.
  12. Beautiful R100 restoration.
  13. AU $7,500.00 (0 Bids) End Date: Sunday Aug-9-2020 11:18:43 EST Bid now | Add to watch list View This Ad
  14. All that chum you're throwing in the water. You're gonna need a bigger boat.
  15. This is probably just bait. But I can't help myself.. since I love a good game of tennis. Spare a thought for us long term enthusiasts a minute, every other day some flat brimmed hat wearing, vape smoking, soy latte drinking, YOLO kid, joins up looking for a 240z/260z (2seaters ONLY PLEASE)* and hoping they will get a rust free, straight, RB25 400HP + conversion car, fully engineered, DID I SAY rust free car? for $20k? Oh and they have been looking for 6 months and have got sick of looking in the classifieds and want it all spoon fed to them. But first they want to offer their doomsday example of an S13 coupe which has been put into every wall at the drift track with a massive dildo gearknob pic as 1 of the key selling points. * Oh btw 2+2's are a strict no no, because it won't score you enough instagram internet points when slammed on its guts with massive flares, cheap eBay fender mirrors, LED tail lamps, massive bright red Recaro's and a straight pipe exhaust affectionately known as "blast pipes". But of course we the owners are the "wankers". :). According to Hayden's book of collectible sports cars from the 60's/70's and 80's? Someone paid $300k for an old Ford Falcon covered in Chicken Shite. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-30/rare-ford-falcon-sells-for-300k-after-30-years-in-shed/12503282 And you're complaining about S30Z prices? LOL, ok good luck with that. I actually really hope you get a good car. But let me just say I've seen a lot of these HLS30's in the flesh. They are often in far worse shape than HS30s but look "good in photos". In person it's another deal all together. Prices in the US have been rising and a car that cheap is unlikely to be any good. Plus it's resale value in this part of the world will be lower. Not really, when you consider there is none on the market anymore. In terms of classic cars compared to many of their peers they still represent good buying. Whilst central banks keep printing money (they call this stimulus) it will just keep inflating asset prices (seen the price of gold or BTC lately?). What about real estate? They are viewed as a bit of a safe haven asset. Unlike that Mustang you crowed about which is a depreciating asset at this point in the cycle. You can also buy a Z34 for $20k now, but nobody seems to want those, despite probably being better than an early Z at everything. Except turning heads. :). I like it when the new guys make an effort to fit in. :). I can understand the sentiment if you've missed out on the price boom. I am still upset I didn't jump on a GTR (R32/R33 or R34 in particular). I thought R34 GTRs were expensive at $40k back in 2012 odd. I was like I'll wait a bit longer and prices will come down a bit more. Never happened though! Now I kick myself lol. Such is life.
  16. Thanks Cheeky, if you can share the VIN #, I'd appreciate it. I like to keep track of these cars. The same way you keep track of Real Estate sales :).

  18. I've learnt that you really need to see these cars in person. It may photograph well, but it may have a lot of flaws that show up in person. I personally think it was purchased under valued. I would have thought closer to $50k maybe $55k, but I suspect those who saw it in person could see more work to be done.
  19. Wheeling and dealing in S30z parts.. https://www.hagerty.com/media/opinion/keep-sell-or-toss-thinning-the-parts-stockpile-is-like-prepping-for-a-garage-sale/
  20. Awesome, even though I've been working on Mikuni / Solex and read a lot of literature I've already learnt something from it. Nice video.
  21. Welcome Tim, Good work on the Z.
  22. And people accuse me of stoking S30z prices!
  23. If you're asking about the red 73 at the auction house, it could be 110 red but the colour looks very different in different lighting situations. Sometimes it looks a blood orange sometimes red. Again I can't tell from those photos due to the studio / bright lighting. But my guess is that it isn't 110 red and is another aftermarket red. It looks darker than the factory red for a 73.
  24. The Rb26 car? I don't think so. But with white it's hard to know. I don't think the paint code is 904 white however. Looks a different shade.
