  1. Hi Zoe, welcome. We do cater to 280zx but members are not as active. Probably because there is less ZX's around now than say 5 years ago. Your biggest issue will be rust. Since it gets very expensive to repair. But it will be a good learning experience and mechanically these cars are nice to work on (provided not all the bolts are rusty). And spares are still accessible given the engine's were fitted to many older Datsuns of the era. Good luck.
  2. You unscrew the screws on the side of the ashtray and then put the lid in place and retighten the screws into place locking the lid in. Did you make the 3D piece or have someone scan and make you 1? If so what does it cost?
  3. Fair warning they will cost you much more to restore in the long run than a good example. I personally look at those cars and question if they are worth it? Since they are not early 240z's, having said that I'm sure 260z 2 seaters will increase in value going forward but you can save yourself a lot of headaches buying better examples.
  4. No spares I'm afraid, but I was considering purchasing this.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-240Z-Harada-Power-Antenna-Genuine-OEM-260Z-280Z/203038904381?hash=item2f460fd03d:g:2PUAAOSwmyle9lSG Go halves? I'm still persisting with trying to take mine apart carefully. Really don't want to break anything unnecessarily.
  5. I thought the same thing about Real Estate for ages. Still hasn't happened. Whilst central banks are printing trillions of dollars and devaluing currency it's hard to see how it's all gonna pan out. I personally would rather hold assets whilst this insane money experiment pans out.

  7. Did someone make an offer outside of eBay? If so, can I ask what it sold for? I like to keep track of values.
  8. Did it sell in the end? I see the listing was removed?
  9. I think Castlemaine Road shop offered engine mounts for RB conversions. You'll want a forward facing plenum also. To do away with the over valve cover jobby on the Rb25. Weigh up the cost of conversion vs a Les Collins built L-series. You could make some good power out of an L-series with $15-20k thrown at it. https://www.rodshop.com.au/datsun/240z-260z/em081-nissan-engine-mounts.html

  12. So I managed to get the antenna out. I sprayed some of this.. Into the channel here. Where I'm pointing. This part was catching so I had to use a screw driver to push it down into the channel and thread it past. You can see it apart here. But I couldn't get all antenna extensions to extend. I sprayed a lot of the liquid wrench into the antenna tip and have let it soak. I used a propane torch to lightly heat it up, but still wouldn't budge. So I may soak it in oil or similar.. but need to be very gentle since these are so easy to snap / break otherwise. I also cannot yet separate the long antenna mast tube from the body of the assembly. It's like an interference fit. Also tried heat here to no avail yet.
  13. Good luck, even rusty / projects are now minimum $15k+ it would appear. There is 1 on Gumtree and another on eBay at the minute. Under $20k.

  18. 2+2s have been increasing in price due to supply drying up. $5k is not a lot for an S30z chassis.(I've seen worse sell for more). But 2+2s are a little trickier to restore due to most parts being reproduced aimed at 2 seat cars. I would go look at it and inspect the rust and straightness of the shell. If you're gonna restore a 2+2 start with a relatively solid / straight 1. A rough 1 will cost a lot more to restore long term and you won't get the money back within the next 5 years, maybe in 10. Good luck..
  19. List a price please.
  20. I'd go Rb25 NEO bang for buck. If doing a motor swap. 20b would be awesome but incredibly expensive. Sr20 doesn't sound right and 2JZ is also expensive. Although a great engine.
  21. Provided those rust spots are all you find when you strip it back. I'd say that's a reasonable figure. But be prepared for snags along the way.
  22. For $5k seems very fair price wise, considering condition and work required to get it back on the road.
  23. Just saw another box on YAJ! https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/c830343618 Bad translation here: https://www.vintagecraft-e-za.com/
  24. Probably unlikely, but speak with the RMS in NSW about it.
  25. I have 1 spare somewhere, but have to dig it out.
