  1. If you want an early car, maybe give this person a call? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/minchinbury/cars-vans-utes/1971-datsun-240z-not-260z-240k-matching-numbers-low-chassis-7-/1076154561 Doesn't seem that motivated to sell...
  2. We briefly discussed it here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2630.msg167476.html#msg167476 Good luck with the sale.
  3. By the way I see the 240z on your facebook page has the dreaded moon roof!
  4. Thanks for posting and the donation also! As mentioned in our initial correspondance I think there is a gap in the market for Roof Turrets Rear Valance Sections / Beaver Panels 2+2 door skins, sills, dog leg sections etc.. 260z floor pans (different pressing to 240z) Seat Mounts might be another popular option for those with rusted floors Fuel filler 1/4 panel area (these rust out where the fuel filler neck is) which extends around the area. Of course having local options for Rocker Panels Door skins Lower fender sections Rear slam panels etc.. Would be helpful but duplicating what already exists through the likes of rare spares.
  5. Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend a place to get panels dipped to remove rust in places that can't be easily accessed and primed at the same time to prevent surface rust etc..? I hear some people don't recommend acid dipping, so any suggestions on best way to handle this, I'm specifically looking at my rear hatch in this instance so feedback on best way to approach it is welcome. See thread here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15125.0.html
  6. Looks like Type 1 version. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/106542-hks-type-1-surge-tank/
  7. Thread revival, how much do you want to spend? I may be able to help you source this part. Although the tank I'm looking at, says HKS turbo in a smaller type face. Tank shape looks a bit different though.
  8. Generally yes, but due to casting differences they can be all over the place. Doesn't matter if F54 or N42 really. The big problem is you can go through several blocks trying to find a suitable candidate for overbore to 89mm. Pain in the butt..
  9. Nice looking original 71 240z in the best colour of all time 920 Safari Gold . Current bid:US $13,900.00 (5 days to go) http://www.ebay.com/itm/171756863400
  10. Thanks yeah I think that rough translation said something along those lines. I just couldn't place it, or recall seeing it. But it has been about 12 years since I removed an S30z dash. I guess the different resistance values provide different fan speeds.
  11. Quite different at the rear of the roof huh? Interesting water trap. Thanks for sharing (2+0 owner).
  12. I've got 1 in NSW that I'd part with. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,15730.0.html But not sure if freight would make it worth your while?

Contact Jesse Streeter, have the carbs shipped to him. He will charge a fee, but good to deal with.
  15. Can anyone tell me what this is? http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d164641972 Don't think I've seen it on an S30z before? Maybe it's part of something that our market didn't get? Part no. 27077 N3100

Any reason why he won't ship to Australia? Is that what he told you or what his eBay store says? There is ways around this.

Think I need to put mine (44s) in a safety deposit box. I have seen this guy in Japan selling them on eBay US. http://www.gl2007.com/usa_product.html Disclaimer, I've not had personal experience dealing with this seller. But just listen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FqYkdliZFE
  18. Ughhh now I remember why I haven't fixed this. PayPal's documentation is hopelessly out of date and not very clear around this. Going to put this here for now as a bookmark to come back to it. http://www.geekality.net/2010/10/19/php-tutorial-paypal-payment-data-transfers-pdt/
  19. Good to know Peter and when the time comes I'll be doing something like that with mine.
  20. Ahh yeah, but alloy ones stick out like dogs bollocks in your engine bay if you're wanting to stay 'original' looking. Anyway to improve the originals / reco / increase core size whilst maintaining the original look?
  21. Different cars, the original link has a 260z style dashboard. The 1 you posted from Shannon's is definitely a 240z dash. Different motors also, I doubt they are the same car, although not impossible.

Whilst I somewhat agree with the sentiment, we have to be realistic and acknowledge that supply an demand is driving some prices up! Of course there is OER as an alternative and they are much cheaper. But people want the 'period' correct parts. I'm sure you understand though George, you are after all restoring HS30 00019. Yep +1. I see it all the time, chrome trim headlight covers? $700-$1000 USD now. Long stalk fender mirrors are $600 AU + (complete), Broken, not working and incomplete Rally Clock? $700 AU+ Prices for hard to find parts are becoming a bit like telephone numbers to paraphrase Tiff Needell,
  23. Did you end up selling that front lip spoiler? I sold mine to someone who desperately wanted 1 and having a hard time sourcing another.
  24. Yeah I thought about that, the only trouble is it's a manual process to update member status. There is a built in donation function in the forum software but it's not nearly as easy to find and it does automatically upgrade you to donating member and more importantly 'expire'. But it's not very user friendly I'm afraid. I could probably run a database query to speed it up.
  25. Yeah sorry about that, it's been happening for ages. It doesn't impact the actual donation going through. Rather it's an error due to a change PayPal made a while ago and I didn't update the website. It' simply to do with the return URL from PayPal. I used to capture donation information (as a transaction) in the web analytics software (long story short, but I did this for testing purposes more than anything else as my day job is web analytics support) but yeah I should fix it. It's like that leaky gasket, 10 mins job but you put it off haha. Working on this site is like a mechanic who never finishes his own projects, by the time at night you get home you're over IT related work and fixing problems .
