  1. Personally I'm buying mine to have a spare set, just in case I ever need them. Not sure how easy it will be to get Mr Nato to make another pair in future.
  2. Just looking at the JDM legends website. http://www.jdmlegends.com/?p=6407 It appears to be the same 432 "Edward Scissorhands Lee" was talking about importing. I'm glad to it went over there, than into the hands of Mr Lee. Think it sold around $80k at the time, but that looks like a steal now.
  3. Maybe next time I'm in Melbourne with my red 72 240z I'll do a buyers guide video using my car. I can go into a lot more detail than the Hagerty Video.
  4. Hey Matt, It has been a while, I've just been transferring all my domains from GoDaddy who I've been with FOR YEARS! So I was curious when I first registered Viczcar.com turns out it was 11 years and 1 month ago... I think you've been around since the start no? Or at least very early on. It's good to see you still have the passion for the car, you should post a link to your blog also. Which shows all the work you did many years ago.
  5. That orange one looks nice but how does it look without photoshop.
  6. This looks more appealing to me. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-260Z-1975/SSE-AD-3269743/?Cr=3 I could potentially be persuaded to check it out, but time is money and I have little time at the moment.
  7. The 432-R didn't have these standard. So it's purely for aesthetics.
  8. Hey mate, Are you still doing lower radiator support pieces? If so at what price?
  9. You might like this then. http://brusselsoldtimers.com/datsun-240z-autumn-corner-2/ Although a little 'over' cooked in my opinion. Still gives a good sense of how good the gold can look. Serving suggestion, while looking at those photos you can play the soundtrack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSq8ZBdSxNU
  10. I do wonder if that car belonged to an elderly gentlemen who used to drive it to a Bowling Club in Caulfield? He had a Golden Retriever or Labrador in the front seat sometimes. It looks awfully like a car I saw about 12-13 years ago in Caulfield. I remember 1 day driving my 260z 2+2 and we were next to each other at a set of lights and I realised that I preferred the stock look compared to my modified 260z. We smiled and chatted briefly at the lights. I remember the paint colour because I don't think it was a factory colour on the 2+2s? I also remember the white wall tires, I wonder if they are the same ones still fitted? But thought it looked good with the factory wheels. I remember it being a clean car, although that car almost looks brownish... I recall it being more gunmetal..Hmmm.
  11. Value is subjective to different people, and what the person buying the car wants to pay for it. That's why I have this thread and try to record asking prices so people can cross reference and form their own opinions. Personally I think all S30z's have been undervalued for ages, especially compared with say a Porsche 911 of the same era, but that is my opinion and it is subjective, the consensus so far seems to disagree with me. It's a double-edged sword, seeing values rise (for existing cars) means parts costs go up as more people looks to 'restore', 'maintain' or get into an S30z and cost of restoration also goes up with increase demand particularly for 'rare' parts. We should all be careful what we wish for .
  12. Tomas see this thread here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,13971.0.html
  13. Maybe confused with Coca Cola and what Warren Buffett said about buying their stocks in the 1920s? http://theconservativeincomeinvestor.com/2013/07/14/warren-buffetts-1993-lesson-on-coca-cola-stock/
  14. Do you mean $10K? I think you've got your wires crossed. $1000 worth of Apple stock is probably worth about $4,500 now. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=apple+stocks&oq=apple+stocks&aqs=chrome..69i57.1832j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=119&ie=UTF-8 Not to mention capital gains tax you have to pay when selling them. I'm sure they were good buying when John Sculley was flushing them down the toilet or just after the Newton when the company was about to go bankrupt. Don't be fooled, apart from rust repair an S30z with a L-series is pretty cheap to maintain and run. I have a mate with an S14a and he's got lots of issues with it. Good thing he enjoys fixing it.
  15. You just don't understand post-modern art....hand brushed increases value.
  16. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2630.msg146423.html#msg146423 February 2014 it was on Gumtree. Looks like current owner thought about doing work for a year before deciding it was all too much. I can't recall price back then... Current price: $6,000.00 Negotiable

  18. Hi guys, I bought an early 240z hitachi head unit from Dimitri recently (thanks) and he included this faceplate but it's actually off a 260z not the early style Hitachi / 240z style head unit with the vertical antenna switch. Example photo of 260z/280z style head unit: Photos of faceplate I've got: I'm sure someone has the head unit itself but not the cover. So I thought I'd list it as it's no use to me. Price $30 + postage or make a donation to the site.
  19. Yeah I love 302 Green, saw it on a mint 2+2 many years ago and it's a fantastic colour. Could almost make you forget you're looking at a 2+2 .
  20. Bring A Trailer featured early 240z http://bringatrailer.com/2015/04/21/early-details-1970-datsun-240z-project/ Listed on Craigslist. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4986248021.html Blue Interior is awesome.
  21. Thanks for the info Pete, with the $AUD vs $USD on the fritz local options are the best! Also your price is more than fair compared to wha I've seen on eBay at $130 USD +. If you make more in future I'll take 2 sets (1 for each Z).
  22. I don't think there is any external trick, I've only heard rumors. I asked Stewart Wilkins but he said they can be all over the place. So I take his word for it, as someone who has tested quite a few blocks in the past.
  23. Captain Obvious here, but have you not tried to ask for such information on Classizcars.com? You could sweeten the deal by doing something for them in return? They always want AU market parts... for example. Even though they call them 'euro' spec.
  24. I would think Carl Beck of Zhome.com would know a lot about US market cars and dealer fitted options.
