  1. RHD early Fairlady Z for sale in the US. Questionable parts fitted. https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1970/datsun/240z/101387025
  2. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1971-datsun-240z-manual/SSE-AD-7122646 #409 has come a long way. Car is in the registry already. Asking $150k. No doubt that will stir a few up.
  3. I've always liked the little 1200 Coupes, but more so in recent years. Unfortunately prices have climbed a lot so they are less accessible than they were. Like everything I suppose.
  4. I also like the period correct look of this... https://dsportmag.com/the-cars/features/vintage-datsun-sunny-dominates/
  5. Did anyone catch where this 240z ended up? http://automotoclassicsale.com/node/10388
  6. Carby turbo 260z 2+2 in NZ https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/nissan/listing/3014886356?tm=email&et=45&mt=7F1F0D31-C106-4483-BC9A-C7464ADF110F&bof=2MdHIiAZ $40,000 NZD
  7. RB26 swapped example. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-168/ SOLD FOR $70,500 ON 3/15/21 In my humble opinion some of the photos in the listing indicate the car wasn't perfect by any means. So take that and make of it what you will. It does look effective however.
  8. When do we get the gender colour reveal party?
  9. Which company('s) did you use to import the car? Would you recommend dealing with them? Did the owner drop the car and parts at the local port for shipping or did you need to ship it across land to get to a sea port? (can make a difference as to the costs).
  10. Also I know of many vintage cars that have looked fantastic in photos and when they get blasted back to bare metal all is revealed and often like an S30Z they look far worse for wear once all the bog and rust is revealed. The other thing I'll add is that it still rains in California (I know recently it's been in drought) but these cars still rust in those states. Just less badly. I definitely considered importing a few HLS30's at 1 point, but after seeing a few of the "cheap" ones in person I realised it was a huge gamble if you couldn't inspect each car in person. Even if you rely on someone else who sort of knows these cars well, you can easily still get caught out.
  11. Not bad considering. To make it worthwhile I think you need to be importing a rust free example. Or dry state car at least.

  13. Thanks @ptZcar and @Enzo for recent donations. Much appreciated.
  14. That's amazing, hardly any mess too. I wonder what it costs?
  15. I ran into an issue with migrating images to Amazon AWS a while back. The image is usually there but I need to update the URL it points to. Seems to have impacted some of the build threads sadly. I could probably fix it easily enough with the right SQL query too if I could find the time.
  16. Got a link to an example post?
  17. Hey Scotty, do you know what brand of catch can that is? I need 2 inputs and the little breather on top is probably sufficient for me. Would keep it neat.
  18. I missed this 1, but sold for $67,000 USD (73 model) HLS30 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-152/ Exchange rate probably works in our favour at the moment. ~$86,867.44 AUD
  19. I doubt it, OP is about 10 years ago.

If I come across engine no's that I suspect are out of an S30Z I try and post them here.
  21. Huzzah, it's back? https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/west-ryde/cars-vans-utes/1977-datsun-260z-burgundy-manual/ Have to take screenshots of these things because Mr Lee's gets happy with the delete key. He also appears to be NOT selling a 510 coupe https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/west-ryde/cars-vans-utes/1971-datsun-bluebird-sss-1971-coupe-1800-coupe-white-manual-coupe/1269462857?ea=11034243&utm_source=trigger&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=saved_search Perhaps Mr Lees should review the following ACCC guidelines? https://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Pricing Manual for the motor vehicle industry.pdf Perhaps someone may be motivated to give them a call? 22. Hi Everyone, Since I converted to Triple Mikuni's I lost my PCV valve on my intake manifold and my block ventilation (crank case) also has nowhere to plumb to. I'm keen on plumbing both points to an oil catch can, if not for any other reason than to stop getting oily residue in my engine bay, but also there does seem to be some benefit to running them in general. (See video) below. I'm just looking for feedback / photos on how you mounted yours and if you bought 1 that worked well? I was going to fabricate 1, but given how cheap some of them are, it seems worth selecting something off the shelf, but it would be nice if it looked in keeping with the engine bay and time period also (bit of an ask I know). I'm thinking of mounting mine below the ignition coil area and utilising existing threads/holes in the engine bay (not wanting to drill new ones). Be nice if it was easy to clean/empty without making a mess too. Oh and I tend to like the clean PVC hose look too! hah. A few ideas to kick things off. https://jdmlegends.com/products/1973-240z https://www.zcarblog.com/tag/rocketbunny https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55185-lets-see-your-catch-can/
  23. Best I can ascertain is that my car HS30 00051 has a build date around June 1970. But it has no compliance plate. The owner is HS30 00030 told me he has done date stamp checks on various components for his car with the help of @HS30-Hdecoding them and they put that cars build date around April 1970. So it seems some of the very early cars were built in the earlier half of 1970 and sold / imported in the later half. I suspect that many of the low VIN # cars were dealer demo cars that were not sold to the general public until later (once they had been used up as demo cars).
  24. Thanks I've updated the subject of this post to: FAJS - Weber Carburettor tuning issues. - since that will help us find it in future or anyone else who's having issues tuning these things. Sure they look shiny, but sounds like quality is poor.
  25. Any photos of the knock off ones? Any way to tell genuine from Chinese copies?
