Yeah interesting, I think earlier ones will be more desired also.
I also wonder with FD RX-7's if early ones will be desirable. Since right now everyone wants the latest Spirit R and Type RZ, there is a lot of small differences on the earliest FD RX-7's (known as version 1) and so many have been given a hard life by now that finding an early car in original shape and not totally flogged out is very very hard...
But I think R32 GTRs and FD RX-7's are almost guaranteed to be classic cars. What I want to know is what is the currently neglected or overlooked car that will suddenly have appeal?
The thing with the C110 Skyline's is that for most of the 80s, 90s we didn't have access to the Internet, so a lot of car culture outside of our boarders was ignored. It is the Gen Y generation and the Internet that has put a light on Japanese car culture (for many Gen Y their first cars were old Japanese cars) and look at video games like Gran Turismo, or Speed Hunters website etc.. It's things like that, which are driving the Japanese car culture in my opinion.
What shocked me was that this GT500 sold for $137,000 USD recently.

Which I actually thought was cheap? Since C10 GTRs, PS30's and Mazda Cosmo's are reaching the 250K USD mark... Then you have the Toyota 2000GT at $1M mark...
I do wonder if it's all being driven by a demographic shift.
