  1. HS30 01562 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/?p=178681 Perhaps 1 of the last HS30's to get the early style console and 71A gearbox? Judging by the bent shifter the gearbox hole is further back than the later cars.
  2. Sorry I'm all out, but they are crap anyway as Jason said they fall off! My 73 240z had the same problem, rear part fell off.. That's why I went for internally oil cam + towers..
  3. The member signed up here and made a couple of posts. Will need to find the thread.
  4. For those looking at modifying an airbox for triples. A good example can be found in this build thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11421-a-lime-240z-spruce-up/?p=178531

  7. A few craigslist potential gems. Searching across Craigslist can be a pain.. http://www.searchcraigslist.org/- Seems to work ok.. Original Safari Gold car. Asking $39,995 http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/ctd/5598644144.html Kalahari Tan. Asking $25000 http://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/5545672830.html Original Brown car. Asking: $18000 http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/5565234057.html 72 in red. Asking $11,800 https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5624813065.html
  8. Only problem is that's a 240z (or early S30Z) tail light surround in your photo..
  9. Send a PM to Cam. He has a bunch of 280zx parts. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/user/101783-dattocam/
  10. This is why S30Z values are going up. http://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hsx/2015/12/Pictures-Don-t-Lie---1971-Datsun-240Z/3749199.html#PhotoSwipe1465356967112 Great story and great car! That mustard colour . Yep and that's why they are so hard to find now!
  11. Attached is a photo of my wiring harness from HS30 00150. (rear tail light harnesses) It looks like September 1970. The car was compliance dated as November 1970. So that leaves a 2 month lag period from when the car was produced to being imported. All the various checks I've done seem to indicate an August/September build period for #150.
  12. Reminds me of the Sydney housing market.

Must see photos, is it blue?
  14. The consensus here is that they won't work too well with a larger displacement motor. You'll have to invest more in set up and getting the tune right. Also factor in import duties for anything over $1000 AUD. Sound is amazeballs though! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1OcrvsAGGU
  15. Sorry my mistake, yes it's a 72. It's a higher number than my 72. Not sure why I made that mistake first time around but rather than fix it in the post above I'll correct it here. I agree, the hard part is knowing how good the job done. I do wonder what number early car gave up it's rear end for this car though! Not sure if continuation of joke here or actually going senile? .
  16. Hah, I missed this thread - must have been busy doing something else when it was put up. I chose Steely Dan because they elicit a love / hate relationship. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Why+do+people+hate+steely+dan&oq=Why+do+people+hate+steely+dan For those that don't know there was a few previous posts on Facebook re: help me find my old S30Z and they were cars with some abhorrent modifications done on them. It's funny because some people thought I was serious about it. There is also quite a few folks on those groups claiming some clean original S30Z's are overpriced, they think you should be able to find good ones for $10K no questions asked because they bought a run down Z on Craigslist 5 years ago for that much. So yeah a bit of tongue in cheek . The problem with Facebook and this may be by design (on behalf of Facebook) is that all discussions are ephemeral and vapid, meaning sometimes good information is posted but it's lost under the weight of never ending news cycles and therefore it's actually a little pointless at times...
  17. A good article discussing the same thing really.. https://capitalistexploits.at/2016/06/trouble-brewing-australia/
  18. A few brake places in here might be able to help? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13147-early-model-260z-rear-drum-brake-cylinder-right-side/ http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/4219-240z-wheel-cylinders/
  19. For those who want to replicate the original box, this is what they look like deconstructed. I'm going to have a go at making 1, helps that I have my own as a reference though. You can also see some really rough measurements here: https://goo.gl/photos/3hMH4ukKzE6Fqm2v8
  20. Agree, but from the photos it looks like it could be a good example.
  21. Sell MOAR of those Oscillator boxes then! . Or send your old 1 to Alexandria radiator service to be rebuilt. That's what I plan to do. @YellowRX - are the stainless gutter trims for a 2+2 or 2 seater? Any dents or damage?
  22. Yep the chassis number on the silver car doesn't match the rear floor. So probably 2 cars used to make 1 car. Depends on what you would want to use it for, would be ok as a race car. The red car is probably the better restoration candidate - even though it looks like the Silver car has had all the work done on it. Worth asking price for parts alone.
  23. Yes love the airbox also, looks fantastic. I'd be interested in what you are using for filters and how you cut the inner plate(s) for the Triples. Are you still running air horns on the triples? How is the sound with the airbox on? Still get that nice induction noise? Oh and where did you source that airbox clip?
  24. Tell me about it, it's like a time warp. Stuck in 1995 some of that lot. Willing to pay over the odds for Rocket Bunny kits but wouldn't know what to do with a Rally Clock, I suspect some of them would try blowing on it.
