Yes, that's normal and the orifice is smaller I guess to help keep fuel pressure up? I believe you'll only see fuel come back that way if the float chamber is full and fuel backs up. It's probably worth about $10k more now that it runs and isn't covered in chicken shit.

I think I left mine behind somewhere in Sydney and need 1 in Melbourne. Looking for 1 in good-ish shape in Melbourne for cheapish price... Otherwise it's buy new!

We don't support video uploads here due to size mostly, but if you upload to Youtube then copy the embed URL here it will work fine.

Yeah I've had the same problem on #150..The only solutions are modify the support section so it sits higher or file the headlight bucket hole (elongate it) to allow you to put the bolt through it. The other thing you can do is check squareness of the front of the car and compare the non-hit side with the side you repaired. Basically there is no easy solution here that I've found. Other than a lot of messing about.

Then again the above could be: 611 Wine Red Metallic - I honestly have never seen this "purple" colour. That I've seen referenced.
-
Not sure if this link will work? https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheZGang/permalink/1861340270567769/ I believe that "purple" is the wine red colour, which I've also seen on 2+2's here. @Léon had a 260z 2+2 in that shade many years ago. I test drove 1 with a black vinyl roof in the late 90s, didn't buy it because I didn't like the vinyl roof, despite having a blast going for a drive in it. Now I wish I had it!

High quality work for sure.

Hey Guys, Actually mostly my fault at this point, the short version is 27th of October I'm getting married and as you can imagine that's expensive. :). But also I was worried these panels would arrive in Sydney while I was away in October in Melbourne and you end up paying storage costs when they sit in a warehouse. A few weeks of that would be enough to kill any profit margin. A while back I imported 2 rear 1/4 panels and for a while I wasn't sure there was going to be demand to import panels as they were not selling, but then a couple of weeks back I sold them, along with a pair of Z-therapy SU's I had rebuilt. So that's given me the confidence to import more. Just have to be prepared to leave capital tied up for a bit. However a couple of things to keep in mind. 1. $AUD is weak vs $USD and 240z parts are going up in price in the US. I know some people are desperate for sections either way. 2. I have a NOS rear 1/4 panel (both sides) but 1 side is in NL (Europe) along with a rear valance section (again NOS). Before I install these on my car I'd like to get them scanned or examined. I am contemplating investing in reproduction panels for S30Z's. Best time to do that is with the panels off the car (not installed on #51). I think the big market will be the US and I know there is a couple of companies locally that may be able to help out. Since bonnets are available, I think rear 1/4 panels could save a lot of cars (make them viable for restoration), and rear valance / beaver panels is another impossible to find section (as you know!). The other section I think worth investing in in roof skins. Door skins, front wings, bonnets, lower valance (front), dog legs, rockers, floor pans already exist as reproduction items. I am heading to the US early Nov (right after my wedding actually) but I don't think I'll get time to go from San Francisco down to Crow in LA. I would like to, but I never have enough time. Sorry for the lack of updates guys. I've had a few people asking, but not an easy task to sort with all my work commitments on top also.

What @gilltech said, sometimes in hindsight we look back and think I should have bought that 1... I know I did that with a rare special edition FD Rx7 I looked at when living in Europe. I've been collecting data on these cars for some time. 2 things stand out to me in the data and from the photos I've seen of what's out there. 1. More cars have survived than I thought! 2. The cars that have survived are often in a sad state of repairs. Very few good original cars out there. Lots and lots of cars in need of serious money thrown at them. Many many years ago now, 1998 or so. I spoke to a fella in Sale by the name of Shane. Some here will have bought spoilers off him. When I told him I'd bought a 240z (I had called about a 260z 2+2 for sale), he said if you find a 240z in good shape you hang onto it. I took his advice to heart. Although I did end up selling that 240z to buy my 72 240z. I still regret selling the first 1 all these years later.

What's wrong with the original spindle pins? Damage them getting them out?
-
Granny spec is right up my alley, if anyone has an original muffler for sale like above. I'd be keen. I've got a 71 240z that is in need ;).
-
Convoy it with the white 240z down? I will really have to push myself to get it ready however.. Otherwise I'd love to be there in my red 240z. It's the best event of the year for S30Z owners in Straya!

Honestly in my experience with cars, spend a bit more money up front. Even if you have a borrow a bit more and get a good solid car that needs minor work, vs buying a project. You'll always always always always spend more on project cars getting them up to similar specification. After all these years I always under estimate the costs of restoring items. And I usually over-estimate to be on the safe side. Therefore I recommend if you have limited tools, skills and expertise to buy a good solid car to start with. Not only can you enjoy it right away, but you'll be able to do incremental improvements to it over time. As a side note, I never take my own advice and always get excited about potential projects... I guess I prefer to build it to specification I want, than buy someone else's vision etc.. PS: Some owners here would have more than $35k in rust work and body repairs / repaint jobs alone... Not that they would admit it in most cases. :). That's why I think the 260z is good buying. PPS: I have not seen the Green 260z in person, it could be a basket case. Best to buy a plane ticket and go view it or ask Curtis for more photos of underside / common rust traps etc..

Having the part no. will go a long way with Nissan Dealers. (Too lazy to look up stuff in the old manuals). https://www.ebay.com.au/i/192670592140?chn=ps https://www.ebay.com.au/p/Datsun-240z-Engine-Mount-260z-280z-Genuine-Nissan-1970-1978/1211252407?iid=152632609556&chn=ps Part no. 11220-N3300 Amazon has them at $57 each.. https://www.amazon.com/Nissan-11220-N3300-Insulator-Mount-replaces-11220-E4100/dp/B00TNKO5RM I usually try to order genuine parts when I have the part no. via this site. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/11220n3300 But they have none listed... I suspect shipping will be the expensive bit. https://www.courtesyparts.com/oem-parts/nissan-insulator-mount-11220n3300
