  3. Welcome. Photos would be good!

  5. It's certainly a good lesson in what not to do in order to achieve top price. Photos I've saved here from previous auction. https://goo.gl/photos/KByRfi3z6Brmgs1d8 Previous auction here: https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/nissan/240z/1972/386360 Looking at the photos, it certainly looks like the floors have been patched up, but the rail on the passenger side has rust holes in it. I'd say this car would be an interesting car to strip back to find the nature of previous work / repairs carried out. The sale price was around $60k AUD, which is certainly high end of our market for sales here for regular garden variety HS30's. So it's not cheap, but then again not too expensive for an HS30-H, but I think the car could easily cost you a fortune to restore properly and buying a good HS30-H that's been properly restored would probably be a better investment long term. I'm also not a fan of the wheel sizes and fitment on it.
  6. Great color combo, and I hope he gets asking price! That should help boost white/blue combo's even more
  7. There was someone making some here a while ago.
  8. And I don't see Z33s getting more expensive in the next few years. Probsbly the opposite. Z34s are dropping nicely also. Seeing a few in the low 20s now. Personally I never much liked the 350z styling. The 370z is nicer, but not exotic looking enough for me. They do look better with some subtle mods. In a few years they will be even cheaper. Obviously more tired also however. I like the 86 suggestion, they are common so parts will be cheap and the higher spec ones have nicer interiors. They are a newer MX5 with a hard top.
  9. https://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Datsun-240K-1973/OAG-AD-16340330/?Cr=0 $67,888 for a Datsun 240K coupe. This looks like a car from Heartbeat Cars on Parramatta Rd.
  10. Excuse the dog noises and my talking, I didn't think it would be recording my voice.
  11. Me, I have to give @Lurch a few lashings now in public. Hehe.
  12. The Fairlady 240ZG sold for $47.500 USD. Cheap in my opinion.
  13. Yes and asking a forum about P plate exemption laws seems like the wrong Avenue for advice. Possibly talk to the RTA to get their feedback on exemptions etc..
  14. I don't get the BMW Alpina Roadsters and their values. $360K USD + commission for a car that barely made any waves upon release.
  15. Visited meca today for Bolwell Enthusiasts.
  16. $21,455,000 achieved for Aston Martin DP215...
  17. I like how it now lives in the living room.
  18. I can take measurements of both.
  19. Sold for $37,500 USD.
  20. At first glance this 1 looks nice, but I'd personally avoid it.. details to come. CURRENT BID: $17,500 ENDS IN: 4 days. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-26/ Not a huge fan of the rear valance section repair.. The original piece was quite rusty on the sides. But the profile of the replacement piece (sourced via the same place I got mine in Canada) is definitely the wrong profile to begin with and needs reworking to curve correctly. The only reason I noticed is that I've been paying attention to that area on my own car, but I guess some will mind more than others. However the rest of the car has rust coming through in some critical areas like the lower strut towers in the engine bay, floor etc.. I think the 73 that just sold was a far better deal. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-67/
  21. Tattoo's aren't my thing, so never felt compelled to get 1. I know some rotards with rotary engine tattoo's though. Always found it a bit strange myself.
  22. Maybe it's different in NSW but you can't have a 350z on P plates here. According to the search tool. If we are making suggestions I would say an early MX5 is a great choice and at 17 you won't have enough skill to really get the most out of it with spirited driving. If I had the power of a 350z at 17-18 I'd hate to see the trouble I would have gotten into. MX5, s2000, early Mazda Rx7s would be my choice although rotary fuel economy isn't good, especially the turbo's.
  23. Do you think it's the same as an S30z koito lamp? I need 1 for my white 240z.
