I'm more worried that he will try to get Edd to add some tasteless mods, just like the FD they did.

It was on a couple of weeks ago.  They did a reasonable job on what looked to be a pretty straight 240.  They did find that it was using a replaceable cartridge oil filter - using a toilet roll as the filter!

They really only gave it a clean, a tune, put some new seats in it and few bits and pieces that the owner had laying around.  they put new wheels on it and when he held the bare wheel up to the studs, the rim hit the spring perch - duh!

Actually I might have the wrong show.  That show had a small group of mobile mechanics that helped out - a bit like Pimp My Ride - but they don't fit playStations in the car.  I think it was Garage Squad.

Haha that was great who made it? Looks genuine also with the watermark on it and all.

I really hope they don't spout any of that nonsense I'll be eased if they don't. Bloody Ladyboy Z enthusiasts, too darn picky.

They appear to be in the "fixing" phase of the 240Z.

While I agree some of the stuff they do is really lacking in taste/boy racer but I think that's pretty consistent with what I see with most modified cars in the UK (google paints a painful picture). At the end of the day it will probably still be fixed/modified to a higher standard than the majority of old Datsuns have been in the past.

Good work sourcing those original hub-caps  ::)

Introduced in 1969, the Datsun 240z was an instant success in the sports car market. With its E-Type inspired body styling and powerful 2.4ltr overhead cam inline 6 engine, the 240z developed a cult following and spawned several generations of iconic Japanese sports cars that have enjoyed huge success around the world.

We are pleased to present for sale this 1972 Datsun 240z.

The car will feature in the new series of Wheeler Dealers, and will be shown worldwide on Discovery & Velocity channels

The car is fitted with the later Nissan 280ZX manual 5 speed transmission for increased performance and more comfortable highway driving. It boasts refurbished carburettors, new rocker cover, poly bushed suspension and refreshed interior. It benefits from ice-cold factory air conditioning too

The bodywork is painted in a fantastic retro shade of factory 112 Yellow and in excellent overall condition. This car offers the rare benefit of being totally rust free, having spent it's whole life in Southern California.

This car has had a great deal of tine and attention lavished on it, not only by us, but throughout it's life. With the tasteful range of modifications, increase in performance and A/C blowing cold, this really is a classic car you could use every day.

Clock reads 69,000 miles. Unverified

Values on the Z cars, especially the sought-after 240 are consistently rising, and with a truly rust-free car, you'll be making a sound investment at a very reasonable price

Located in Huntington Beach, California, we welcome serious enquiries and viewings. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions, or would like to view the car.

Please note a condition of sale. You would be happy to buy the car on camera for series 12 of ‘Wheeler Dealers’ at our studio in Huntington Beach, California. You will need to be available to film with our presenter. Cost of travel and/or shipping is not included in the sale.

PLEASE ONLY BID OR ENQUIRE IF YOU HAVE A GENUINE INTEREST IN OWNING THIS VEHICLE

They didn't mention you'd have to shake Mike Brewers hand, that's a pretty big commitment.  8) "Hold out yer hand fella, cause you just got a crackin' deal".

Isn't that what John DeLorean used to say!

I wonder what he said when he made a Gold Delorean? Even though they were not that great I still want 1.

This was a good segment and gives some of the history on the company and the man.

Hmmm, the hubcaps...I think they are off an American 280Z; quite different to our contemporary 260's.

Those hubcaps are horrid compared to the 260z style mags. They remind me of trash can lids. Case in point.

I'll bet my socks, that Mike Brewer bought a polished valve cover off eBay and when it's installed he will exclaim to Ed China "Wow that really makes the engine bay pop, yerrr much better than that dull cover. Ed you are a master mechaNICK (sic)".

Mike Brewer is annoying, but the shows cool......

I must confess that I do enjoy watching a few episodes when nothing else is on.
