adam Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 So it's your Z I see at DT Panels! I look forward to seeing it completed! Quote
Corsa224 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Hi Saxon, seems like were both doing the same colour with the same car as inspiration. That orange 240z has a ZG front which is kind of different. Good luck with the build Quote
mossy Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Looking good there Saxon so many nice builds going on at the moment Quote
saxon Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Thanks guys Hi Saxon, seems like were both doing the same colour with the same car as inspiration. That orange 240z has a ZG front which is kind of different. Good luck with the build My inspiration for the colour was this golf, Vu from DT's found the Lamborghini orange colour which was pretty similar so going with that. Which is the ZG zed that's inspired you? Quote
Corsa224 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I'm basing my build on the orange zed that you posted. Mines Porsche gt3 orange with satin gray flairs, spoiler, bonnet vents and front spoiler. I've matched the trim stitching to the orange of the car which out being too tacky. The wheels are 17" rota rbx's in shadow chrome with polished lip. Quote
saxon Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 sounds awesome. Yeah I changed my mind at the last minute, not going the same orange as that car from hybridz. I think the Porsche ft3 orange will look awesome, and the satin grey with it will look tough. Will be great to see it when it's done! Quote
mossy Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Mines Porsche signal orange, seems like orange is the in colour at the moment Quote
Agno Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I'm guessing the orange Work Wheels promo car. The one with Meister CR01s on it Quote
fluegel Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Hi guys, After a little bit of a search, I have bought my 2 seater '75 260z! I am so friggen over the moon right now!!! Even now in its unkempt and unmodified appearance, it still looks bad ass. Can't wait til i start fixing it up a bit. I heard that only about 150 2 seater 260z were imported into australia so it is quite rare if this is true. Quote
saxon Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Yeah orange looks awesome on zeds, the more the better! Hi guys, After a little bit of a search, I have bought my 2 seater '75 260z! I am so friggen over the moon right now!!! Even now in its unkempt and unmodified appearance, it still looks bad ass. Can't wait til i start fixing it up a bit. I heard that only about 150 2 seater 260z were imported into australia so it is quite rare if this is true. I don't know much about it but that number would surprise me as I know quite a few 260z 2 seaters in Aus. Quote
260Coupe Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Records are scarce however the number of 260z 2 seaters sold from '74 to '78 was around 650......info came from my sister who worked at Nissan in the mid eighties and did some reearch collating import numbers. Al. Quote
luvemfast Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Looking good Hamish I love the contrast of bright paint in a spay booth Quote
fluegel Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Alrighty, paint is going on Were those large rectangular holes on the back hatch behind the cardboard cover sealed with neoprene? sheet they are on the 2+2 hatch although it has different holes. When I made sure the holes were covered it more or less cured the exhaust gas smell problem Quote
saxon Posted November 17, 2012 Author Posted November 17, 2012 I dunno I never noticed the exhaust smell, maybe cause I'm a smoker though and lost my sense of smell a long time ago Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Fark...! Did the painters have any issues with the body repairs, Hamish? Quote
saxon Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 Nah Lurch no issues there They had issues with the paint though, they had to go back to bare metal as there were chemical reactions going on so it all had to go. Quote
