Stivva Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 Rear view mirrors just haven't been put back on yet. But there are lots of elements yet to be reinstalled. Totally decided against the g-nose. I want my car to be a little more unique. Quote
d3c0y Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 How did the paint blending go on the C-pillar? I'm just about to have my whole car resprayed due to the panel beater not wanting to blend sliver there. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 13, 2014 Administrators Posted October 13, 2014 How did the paint blending go on the C-pillar? I'm just about to have my whole car resprayed due to the panel beater not wanting to blend sliver there. I'm sure you know this already, but Silver is notoriously difficult to blend. Hence the reason your panel beater probably doesn't want to blend it. It will always look 2 tone otherwise. Quote
d3c0y Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He did say that, but now i hear you say it i accept it haha. Now to what colour i paint it... i hate this part. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I have to say that I am look forward to seeing this in the flesh at last here in Melbourne. :) Quote
Stivva Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Hi guys, more progress today. I picked up the new rear tyres, 275s. So, the current rear tyres (245s) will go on the fronts and the 275s on the back. And then I have to raise the rear to accommodate the wider rubber. Yeah, @d3c0y no problem blending the paint, but silver is horrible, i have been told that by about elevenitybillion painters, the gunmetal grey is a bit easier apparently. @Lightmaster240z I live not that far from Leongatha so an hour from you... feel free to come round. Quote
Stivva Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 All back together and out of the panel shop and straight into the tyre shop. The 275s will go on the rear, the 245s up front and new springs to raise it up have to go in. All in all I am happy with the work that has been done, but it makes me find other things that now have to be done. Quote
Stivva Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 The car is now back home riding on 275s up the back, I haven't finished up the front fitment yet, but I will be sending the front wheels off for an offset change and will have to get the angle grinder out to remove unwanted inner guard that the wheels will foul on. But one step at a time these days. Quote
Stivva Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 I haven't had the offset changed in the front wheels yet, but soon! Quote
garvice Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Looking good! They are some big flares. Quote
dat240z Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Yeah well done mate, something different to the usual Z's you see in Aus Quote
reverendzed Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Looks great Stiv! You've continued to customise it or personally tune it to your own dream - well done! Quote
Stivva Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Cheers guys, I think I will now order the front lip to pair with my flares, but it will have to be modified as it is too suit the g nose. And one day I would like to buy new chrome bumpers. Quote
d3c0y Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I didnt know you could order that, everyone i talked to said they are custom. Quote
Stivva Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Its an off the shelf part for a g nose, no problems! But its a pricey part just for a skirt lol. Quote
d3c0y Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Yeah i know for teh G-nose but you arent doing a nose on it are you? Are you planning on cutting the sides off? Quote
Stivva Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Oh yeah, custom as it comes. Cutting down the restored carbon fibre airdam and cutting and shutting the skirt. Quote
Stivva Posted July 4, 2015 Author Posted July 4, 2015 Well, thats another little bit done now, coil overs are next, if you guys caught my thread in the suspension area. But my list of things I want to do is getting bigger and bigger. Quote
Stivva Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 I have had my car in workshops all this week. Had some new brake lines installed because the old ones had just about given up. We got them made an inch longer because the car was lowered. It also spent some time at the auto elecs getting an overhaul. Relays put in for the headlights elec. Taillights got an over haul also. Dash lights are brighter and everything is stable. I havent seen the car yet, so i am not sure of the results yet but i hope they are fresh as a new car because they charged my a small fortune lol. In other news that kind of excites me, my subaru hit 350000kms! Quote

George Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I love your car and your dedication so don't take this the wrong way but those flares to me look like a boob job gone wrong on a 50 year old. My taste says the proportions are all out of whack. Just as well it's your car and your taste and as long as you're happy with it then I respect that and I encourage you 100%. Quote
zzzzed Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I agree with you George. But if we all had the same taste the world would be a boring place. Quote
George Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I agree with you George. But if we all had the same taste the world would be a boring place. That's exactly right. I love the variety of styles and appreciate them all regardless if I would do it to my car or not. Quote
