Administrators gav240z Posted November 22, 2013 Administrators Posted November 22, 2013 Can't go wrong with Work Meisters. But can we have a lairy centre colour again? :-) Quote
Stivva Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Can anyone tell me why the wheel on my passenger side rear would have more poke than on the drivers side? Chassis out of line? I was doing my measurements for the adjustments and the rear left pokes 5mm more past the fender than the right. Quote
Retro Z Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Steve. I had the same issue. It came down to the topstage flares. One side was wider than the other. Once i removed the flair the poke was symmetrical. Quote
Stivva Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Interesting... Any suggestions to fix it? Wide rear flares perhaps? Quote
Retro Z Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Yeah mine was off 5-10mm. Could be the way they were trimmed or even the mold. I only realised once i took them off. Yeah i ordered wide zg's last week from jdmflares.com for $300usd for set of 4 delivered. Oscar is very prompt with emails etc and got it despatched quickly. I havent recieved it yet but according to tracking i should recieve it late this week. Apparently 1.25 inches wider. You could always chop and extend yours. Just in case put a tape measure over yours and double check as it could have just been mine. Quote
Stivva Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 New spoiler is fitted, but I need paint now! Quote
George Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Are you pleased with the fit? Was it difficult? Quote
Stivva Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Spoiler is a great fit... it was very difficult to fit though because of the location of the bolts. Quote
Brabham Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Where did you get the rear spoiler from and how much was it? Cheers Quote
Stivva Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Got it from Japan, the link is here; http://home.att.ne.jp/sky/FairladyZ/Body/3Pspoiler/3pspoiler1.htm The one pictured on the website is the basic model, the deluxe is nearly solid the way through. It was $500 or so landed. Quote
CroS13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Did you go through jesse streeter for it? Rudolf. Quote
CroS13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 That's a fair price considering i dare say near half the price would be shipping due to size, or does it go on weight? my fujitsubo exhaust was about $300 in postage alone.... Your car is one of my favorite cars on here, love me some JDM style tuning, and when i think it cant look any better... well, i stand corrected! Meisters look real fat on it. Me Rikey! Rudolf. Quote
Stivva Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 This is the template for the speaker bracket thats modified to suit a 6-6.5" speaker. You should be able to download it and print it out at 100% to copy onto steel. I used a pair of tin snips and a hole saw to cut it out. Quote

Stivva Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Just dropped the car off at the paint shop! Woohoo! Quote
Stivva Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Need to raise the car a little bit, hopefully I will get time this weekend, but I suspect I will be busy with a baby!!! Quote
420BRB Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 looks sweet! btw, are those bolted in? im contemplating drilling into my boot.. i really dont want to.. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 20, 2013 Administrators Posted December 20, 2013 Lookin' the goods mate. I have a pair of 240z style rear lights - actually I have a few. All very very average though mate. I'll dig out pics of them when I'm at my parents place around Christmas. However I'd probably just keep the 260z lenses. I heard in the 70s many 240z owners were converting their cars to 260z style using 260z turn signals and lights. Sounds pretty funny now doesn't it? Then again I converted my FD RX-7 from the earlier style to later style. So I guess I can understand it. Quote

I think there is a bit of a trend in most car owners to want the newest model when the car is relatively new. For example VX tail lights in a VT commodore. But as the car becomes a lot older there is the desire to revert it back to the most desirable form... stock or in my case an earlier model. Would appreciate photos! Quote
Riceburner Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Yep bolted in. Holes can always be welded up. +1 I was reluctant to drill holes but it's pretty much the only way to mount this type of spoiler. Looks good Stiv, Is that rubber on the rims? Hehe, looks like the sidewalls are shaved a little. Quote
Stivva Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Yeah, totally had an issue. But it seems better now. Quote
