S130 two seater deserves better than an L series lump whatever the spec, you leave the S30 fanboys to play around with them. Ooops, did I really say that, yes and delete is failing :D

hahhah don't pick on the l28 they are very fast when you give them some love  8) and they sound incredable with triple carbs

and i have found some rods for you Simon, hope maxspeed take the rods back..

hmm 140mm rods with 22mm pin = FJ20 rod :D

So sounds like you needed a custom rod not one of their already in production FJ20 item :'(

On the money  ;)

Custom pistons to suit the STD rod. Epic fail

We'll see hey mate.

As previously mentioned.

I'm in the middle of a dispute with Max Speeding Rods

http://www.maxspeedingrods.com/

The con rods supplied are incorrect and they are not showing any signs of honouring their mistake.

The pin diameter in the rods supplied are Ø21mm when they should be Ø22mm.

This wouldn't really be a problem since I had custom pistons made to suit an FJ20 rod. I would just get the pistons made with a Ø21mm pin in them.

Problem is, all the specs call for a Ø22mm pin.

See here

http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-info/conrod-specs

http://www.fj20.com/

So what would you do?

I have emailed them only to be told-

"If you can not  believe you are wrong about the pin diameter, please put your thought on the forum, we let the FJ20 specialist to judge."

Problem is, Peter is building it. The last time he brought his FJ20ET powered Z to a club dyno day, he blew everyone away with, well, alot of killer wasps. I wonder if he knows anything about FJ20's? or L series? hmmmmmmmmm

That shows me that they are not interested at all.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but running out of reasons why.

HELP  :-\

I'll give you $400 for those MS rods, Simon.

Cheers Lurch.

Peter said that you'd be interested to use them and I'll just buy some new Spool ones.

My loss is your gain  ::)

Cliche much?

I re-read your post - so you needed a stock FJ20 rod which is common knowledge have 140mm c to c lenght and a 22mm pin. But Max have supplied a custom item that is 140mm long with a 21mm pin.

So yes Epic fail.

Yes you are right.

My bad, I meant STD FJ20 rod.

Because he is using FJ20 rods in L28 engine. That is why he need 22mm pin diameter.

Are you illiterate as well as dense? Your comment above makes NO SENSE whatsoever...!

FACTORY FJ20et rods have 22mm gudgon pin diamater.

YOU are selling a 140mm custom rod with a 21mm pin, and ADVERTISING them as H-beam FJ20et rods -

WHICH THEY ARE NOT!!!

Either change your decription about the rods or change your product!

The L28 part is irrelevant he wanted/needed 1 1/2 sets of standard FJ20 rods. FJ20 rods are 140mm centre to centre and have a standard pin size of 22mm this is well documented and well known that the FJ20 have a 22mm pin. What was supplied is not standard FJ20 rods but a custom rod with the correct lenght of 140mm centre to centre but with a smaller 21mm pin which might be correct for the L28 but not what he wanted or needed. He needed 6 x standard FJ20 rods.

This is what I've been dealing with.

Jim at Max Speeding Rods clearly cannot understand nor comprehend that they could have possibly made a mistake. His big come back is I'm not using them in an FJ20 and that Kameari rods have 21mm pins. Even though he told me earlier they are OEM.  ??? I don't think he knows what he is on about.

HI simon

i started the head today thort i would post some picks

Looking great mate  ;D

I used spool Australia when purchasing my rods, found them to be great.

Max Speeding Rods will come up online for potential customers searching info and with the shocking service

and incorrect supply of parts shown here, I'll bet customers will look elsewhere.

Another porting masterpiece on it's way, with a 76 cam this should be a monster!

I think there is something to be said about buying locally, rather than trying to cut costs and import from companies that you cannot hold accountable!

Spools have come down in price since I bought the Max rods, otherwise I would have just done that from the get go. But even if they were more expensive, they are a known and trusted company.

Don't blame me for your messy house mate  :P

Update with Sir Max a Wrong.

Afte much pushing and negotiations.

They have agreed to refund my money, less postage.

So it's good to know they will stand by their product and take ownership of problems.

In the meantime, looking forwards to watching Peter's hard work  ;D
