I saw a couple of old photo's taken years ago at a Sandown race meet and was wondering if we should try and see if we can get more than 11 Zeds in a row for a photo shoot. Would be a good excuse for everyone to get together to beat this attached photo.

Craig what a great idea!  What about us trying to do something for a Christmas get together?  I'd be happy to help organize something.

Perhaps a Zed owner who is also a Uni student can apply for a state goverment grant and we could call it art. The Ballarat City Council recently funded a project to "Mow" three platipy into the grassy, dry area of Lake Wendouree. The cost $25000 :P

Sounds great! if we can find a centralized venue that is a reasonable distance for most it would be great....any ideas?  Would be good to include families and I can supply a huge jumping castle for the kids.  I'll work on some suggested dates and see if we can find a date that gets good buy in.  bring on the suggestions and it would be good if someone else wants to put up their hand to help.

It sounds as if the interest is there, so I'll start putting some ideas together and get some consensus on dates, sounds like fun!

How about making this a nation wide thing?

Every state tries to get together as many zeds as possible for a photo shoot. We can post all the pics in our gallery / front page for a Merry Christmas message :).

If we got really enthusiastic we could try and get the US and Canada in on it. See how many Zeds can get together in one place for a photo shoot.

Maybe turn it into a 2009 Z Calendar. Call it Zeds around the world.

What do others think?

Well how about then Melbourne, Sydney and Can(t)berra meet up in Holbrook, it's around half way for those that don't know, we could get one with the submarine in the background. The streets are plenty wide to even run them two in a row if we need to, but where else in the world (well Oz anyway) can you get a photo of so many Zeds in front of a sub sunk in dirt??

The added bonus is the long drive and the fact that we could catch up with at least some of the interstaters, leave around 7am to get their just before lunch, have a BBQ and a general street show.  If we organize it around Jan/Feb would also be daylight savings time so could sit around much longer and not really have to set off till maybe around 4:30-5:00.

If we organize it through the local council and police we may even be able to get the cars in the grounds, have kind of like a Tri-State Z meet/greet/show, possibly even do this annually if it we get enough interest and support from the locals. This could be a bit of a tourist boost for them so maybe we could put it that way in a proposal to the local council.

It's just a thought, big one I know the brain is quite sore especially this early in the day, but one that could really turn into something big.

Think a tri state meet is an awesome idea and would be great to pursue for 2009, but for reality sake I think a state Christmas meet is probably more achievable at this late notice, especially if we are trying to make it a family event.

Well it would be great if we could take over a big park somewhere but that might be a bit of organising. If you want a casual thing my brother is on 5 acres of land in Wandin North (near Lilydale). He has a vacant block next to him (his 2.5 acres) He could mow that and we could get all the cars parked on there for the photo shoot. Then we would also have amenities for a BBQ lunch etc. Plenty of room for kids to run around. I think some of you have been there before. He has a couple of nice Zeds we could add to the list as well. Just an idea if we can all make it out that far. Then we could even go for a drive afterwards.

I reckon we could get maybe 20 Zeds. That would be pretty impressive.

I personally think we could do a National thing at Threadbo. Pretty central to NSW & ACT but I am really not sure how much interest we could generate. But I would be willing to drive there in a seperate event around Feb.
