Reeeeeeeeeeeeeepost.

It's probably a good thing you can't afford a Zed if your still on your P's...

Buy a S13 or Skyline or something.

It Might be Silly I agree, But having seen some of the cars my mates drive, / How, I Actually Fell more In control/Safe In the zed then i do in any other car I've Driven, Not saying im Overconfident ie hoon, Just i know if im sitting on 100 and an accident happens on the road right infront of me i Know That ive got as good a chance of avoiding it if not better then most cars on the road, May be completely Misguided , But thats how i feel, Being my zeds so stiff, I dunno anyway just the way it is, I Say hey, Buy a zed if you can dude, Just realise it is something Different And theres not many left so take care of it mate ^^

By the way if Speed is an Issue, A Stroker L28 is always going to be fast enough :P

To be honest i dont really like s13's and skylines for a good one costs too much, what drew me to the zed in the first place was that it had a clean yet beautiful body shape and it is a cheap yet good project car.

Oh and sorry about the re post hadn't checked here in a few days since people don't post much in this thread

I wouldn't say a 240z is a cheap project car and if you do get one cheap you can almost guarantee you will have to spend quite a bit to get it up to standard. I fluked getting a good cheap 240z this year but even if another one came up cheap there will probably be 40 others trying to get that same bargain so you gotta be lucky too ;)

Up for auction is  my much loved series one 240z chassis No.00212 yes thats right build number 212. Australian compliance date is12/1970  so I would assume this vehicle was built either late 1969 or early 1970. It is now painted in a Honda metallic green with the original cream vinyl roof, it started out in life as the pale green datsun colour with the vinyl roof. This a matching series one No's vehicle, E31 head, choke and throttle control on centre console, speedo starts at 20mph, will be supplied with original steering wheel, gear shift knob and am stereo, vents on the rear hatch.

$18,000 buy it now

Just curious - how do you get the grey stuff off the roof?

More the point - which bastard put it on there in the 1st place???  Was this factory fitted, an Aussie dealer option or a previous owner with questionable judgement?  Are there any other zeds out there with vinyl?  (I've never seen one.)

If it wasn't for the vinyl & the green paint I would probably already be $18k poorer...

Check out the sellers updated comments and Q&A section. I'm now wondering what the other questions were that made him laugh.

Interesting he got so much interest in the car its good to see there is plenty of demand. I wonder if he had kept the paint the original green when it was resprayed if that would have changed anything?

Also anyone else think those rear guards have been massaged? Might be the photo but it looks like they may have been lipped a little?

I'd say that Vinyl roof is dealer fitted and I don't mind it too much in my opinion but would prefer it without it.

Hope he gets asking price.

This car (hs30 212) was for sale on ebay about 2 to 3 years ago in Brisbane.

From memory it sold for about 2-3K , and took about 3 listings to sell!

How the times have changed.

Looks like the seller has only given it a quick tidy up and reg .

The only reason I did not buy it was the rear arch's and that bad roof.

Yeah looks familiar, but I think it had more than just a quick clean up. From memory it looked pretty rough in the old pics and rusty too! Looks like rust has been treated since then.

Now here is a 280zx worth checking out. Just read the description.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-280ZX-1983-2-2-T-Bar-Roof-Low-Reserve_W0QQitemZ330337542376QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item4ce9a6e0e8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

Item ID: 330337542376

The car is painted in Benson & Hedges Gold and is possibly the only surviving (of three) original prize cars given by Datsun to the World Series Cricket.

This car was presented to Viv Richards for "International Cricketer of the Year" at the MCG in the last one-day game of the 1983-4 season.

i have seen this car in person and i can say it is the best 280zx i have ever seen.

The engine bay has been highly detailed the interior is awesome.

If only i had the room

john will vouch for it  ;)

It sure seems to be doing alright in the bidding stakes. It said there were originally 3 Benson and Hegdes cars? I might paint mine gold and it will sell!  ;)
