KatoKid Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Anyone going to this: http://www.classicjapan.org.au/ I've entered so would be cool to get a few Z's together David Quote
my_mad_z Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I'm going; do you have a meeting place in mind? Quote
KatoKid Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Not as yet. Lets see who else is entered and fix a mutually agreeable spot a couple of days out. Quote
Wayne Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Feeling ashamed that I didn't make it to the BBQ 'cause it was (almost) snowing at my place. Looked like a great day was had by all that were brave enough. Would love to meet up for the trip in to "Classic". Quote
KatoKid Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Sounds good. Marc, you're in the west? Quote
Gordo Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 The Weather forcast isn't what we where hoping for. It's a shame we won't get to see some of the new builds if the rain comes. Wayne 1 Quote
KatoKid Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 Yep, pretty confident it will be a wash out. Quote
C.A.R. Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I was going to head along with my Brotato in his VR4 Galant, but with the weather turning foul, I'm out. OdinZ 1 Quote
my_mad_z Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 There's 3 days in the entire year that we hope for good weather; 1. Christmas BBQ at Gordo's, 2. Datsun Day, and 3. Classic Japan.... all too much for Melbourne this year to grant us good weather As long as hail isn't forecast, I think I'm still in... Gordo and Wayne 2 Quote
zedls1 Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I'm hoping to make it, zedless still, be great to see you guy's. John Quote
Gordo Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Looking at the forcast now, looks as though you guys could have half a day. Depending on how much it dumps down tonight. Quote
OdinZ Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Time change for those still going. Bump in: 10-11am Finish: 3pm Quote
KatoKid Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 May get there for a look but no Z OdinZ 1 Quote
GregTas Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) I was in Melbourne for the weekend and lucky enough to get there. About 350 cars there covering two paddocks. A some very nice zeds there. My_mad_z What size are the rear wheel on your car? I'm very surprised the rears fit under the guards with so much offset. They look really good. driventhreads Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 I was there...third last pic is mine. The Cosmo and the Hakosukas were my highlights. Quote
Agno Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 That white car is so similar to mine! The owner clearly has excellent taste I got down there just as things were wrapping up. It was good to see so many cars (of a very high standard) even with the threat of inclement weather. Quote
my_mad_z Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I was in Melbourne for the weekend and lucky enough to get there. About 350 cars there covering two paddocks. A some very nice zeds there. My_mad_z What size are the rear wheel on your car? I'm very surprised the rears fit under the guards with so much offset. They look really good. Hi Greg, They're 8.5" with a +4 offset. I've shortened my struts and re positioned the spring perch to get more clearance; I doubt they would fit on a 240Z with standard suspension. Also, my rear wheel arches are off a 260Z so they have a little more clearance... wasn't by choice, at the time of doing the rust repairs, I though I was given a 240Z replacement but as it turned out it was off a 260Z which meant I ended up having to replace the other side as well because he didn't have anymore 240Z's at the time. GregTas Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Thanks for the info. I'm just deciding on wheels for mine. I have 2 1/2" ID coil overs and my struts will be sectioned. I was gong to go 16x8 with +4. That means my wheels would sit only 6.35mm further in than yours. People say the 8"+4 should fit and not rub, but must be close. I noticed your front wheels are narrow. What size and offset are they? Quote
my_mad_z Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 No worries. The fronts are Rota RB, 7.5" +20 offset. ROTA have recently added another option of 7.5" +15 offset which would be a better fit for the front of my car but that option wasn't available at the time I bought the wheels. Pretty sure Wayne (A240Z) has 16x8" +4 all round on his Z and it's a nice fit; I can't recall if he's running coil overs or not? Quote
Wayne Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Hi Marc and Greg. Yep, my Rota RB's are all 16x8" +4, coil overs all round and had to roll the inner lip on the guards. Quote
GregTas Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Thanks Wayne. Just ordered mine today. Same size as yours. Wayne 1 Quote
