What Do People Think Of 904 White For A White Paint?

Hi,

 

I've decided to go white for my car (1971), but wasn't sure of what white to go with. The car was originally tan so the white does not have to be the 904 white, just a nice white that suits the car.

 

I had a car painted Honda Shetland white (1980 colour) some years back which I quite liked.

 

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I am not a fan of white cars as sports cars generally but I really like the white and blue combo on an early S30Z.

Trims will be black and so will the seats.

 

The car is getting done as a club day car and at the moment I'm thinking the BRE style but not red on top. Perhaps a nice dark blue on top and the bottom half of the stripes and the sill grey. Just a thought at the moment.

I really like the BRE colour schemes. But I also like Kalahari tan, if that's the tan you are referring to. Just to throw a spanner in the works. ?

My car is 904 white and while I am clearly biased I think it's a good colour.

The modern paints are lot better than the acrylics that were around in the '70's Steve from 240Z rubber parts told me that his car is 904 some nice photos in there of his restoration

904 Kilimanjaro White, great colour   mine has black interior but i reckon blue would look  great as well.

 

I might throw a set of black rims with polished outer on one day off another car, to see what i think, until then undecided on rim colour choice but i'm happy with the silver

904 Kilimanjaro White, definitely not an appliance colour its well off appliance white enough to be gorgeous and cool           if i can next time i get her out i will compare the 2 unless someone beats me to it

The red clashes with the black console and my car is RHD so that won't work.

 

Thanks evryone for all the comments and links. 

 

With the exception of one person saying my car will look like a washing machine no one has sad anything bad about 904 or suggested any other whites so I might just go with 904.

My 2 favourite whites are early 1970s jags with brittish antique white

And I also love 2008-2011 toyota Rav4 ZR models which had a very small amount of pearl in them.

I know the antique white the jags were. A nice classic colour.I'll keep my eye out for a white Toyota.

 

It's a pity you can't line up twenty different cars at the same time to compare.Computer screens are obviously no good for this sort of thing.

When I painted my car almost two years ago, I decided to keep the original 904 white.  

 

I bought the paint from a supplier at Girraween in Sydney, it appears that Infiniti is still using that colour but is now known as Moonstone.

A pristine sample of Appliance White   In real life it's a bit whiter and brighter than the pic shows.
