WA240Z Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 That blue interior really works having the transmission tunnel carpeted in black. If the tunnel was covered in the original blue I think it would be too much. Beautiful car. Quote

Generally it's the early 70 models that are getting bigger coin in the US/Canada. Remember the North American market has always lagged the other global markets due to sheer number of cars available. HLS3095210 SUPER NICE 72 240Z . THIS IS AND OLDER RESTORATION AND HAS HELD UP VERY WELL. TWIN CARB, FRESH MOTOR AND FRESH TRANS. PAINT IS IN GREAT SHAPE ALONG WITH BODY AND INTERIOR. IT NEEDS A RADIO AND A GLOVE BOX LINER. DRIVER MIRRIOR CAP AND PLASTIC CAP FOR REAR STRUT ON LEFT REAR INSDE , OTHER THAN THAT ITS GOOD TO GO. THIS IS A GREAT CAR SERIOUS CALLS ONLY TO 205-356-6373 Maybe the auto holds back it's value? At US $8,700.00 with 14 hours to go... Sadly not enough info to know if it's got any structural rust. Perhaps that's the issue here? Quote
Riceburner Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 The silver one looks super tidy, That color combo even makes the standard hub caps look good! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 1, 2015 Author Administrators Posted June 1, 2015 Funny you mention the hubcaps they are not the correct version for a 70 model S30z. They are the later ones. I actually am not a huge fan of Silver used on early 240z's. My 72 240z was originally that colour and it just looks a bit too washed out. I have seen Silver 240z's look good though so I wonder if it's just the way the paint ages that doesn't help? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 4, 2015 Author Administrators Posted June 4, 2015 http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-5/ Sold for $18K USD. To quote myself. gav240z My feeling was that it was worth more than final sale price in terms of how it presented in the photos. But perhaps the non original radio set up, holes in door cards for speakers, tiny rust spots coming back, questionable accident history (in terms of how severe) and mechanical reported issues limited it’s overall sale-ability. Still a good price, but I think had those above issues been addressed it should have exceeded 20K but maybe later S30z’s are not quite there compared with earlier ones? The North American market is funny, still the cheapest place in the world to buy an S30z. Just check out prices in Japan or Europe. Prices in Australia vary but we rarely have cars of this calibre up for sale so difficult to say what it’s value is here. I suspect in a couple of years we’ll look back and think this was cheap though… Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted June 16, 2015 Author Administrators Posted June 16, 2015 Mint looking 280zx 2 seater in the US. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-280ZX-FLAWLESS-5-SPD-WITH-21K-ORIGINAL-MILES-/381294604730 Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree. West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional barn-fresh (garage really!) find of this rare original owner and fully loaded with factory options 1980 280ZX 2.8L Fuel Injected 6 cylinder OHC Coupe with its original and unique 'Thunder Black' color paint with Gold pin-striping, original 21K miles and loaded with factory options including: 2.8L OHC Fuel Injected 6 Cylinder Engine, 5 speed manual overdrive transmission, air conditioning ($635) with auto temperature feature ($70), genuine leather upholstery ($300), & the optional 'Grand Luxury Package' ($1,704) including; dual 6-way power seat with lumbar adjust, AM/FM stereo with four speakers & power antenna, aluminum alloy wheels with Gold color inserts and white letter Radial tires, power assisted 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, power windows, cruise control, rear window wiper/washer, computer sensor system, dual remote power mirrors, digital clock, lighted vanity mirrors etc and all in the highly desirable rare 2 seat (not 2+2) coupe body-style! The Datsun 280Z was built between the years 1975-78 and was the latest incarnation of the 240/260Z with the 240Z having been voted by 'Sports Car International' the number two car on the list of the 'Top Sports Cars of the 1970's'! One of the most appealing Japanese cars ever produced, unfortunately they have largely disappeared from the roads almost entirely due to insurmountable rust issues of all the Japanese cars of this era making this rare and most desirable last year 1980 model all the more rare and unusual in its completely rust free and original condition! The 260Z had a longer stroke of 2.6L from its predecessors and and this particular example is the 1980 280ZX 2 seat coupe version without the T-Tops, a notably different and more attractive roof-line from either the T-Top or the less desirable 2+2 models. This is a beautiful stock example with it's original engine with only 21K original miles and with all of it's original factory specifications and options intact including original 'Thunder Black' color paint and tan leather interior! Owned since new by only one mature and fastidious owner and always primarily serviced at either Nissan dealerships or 'Z' specialists since new with the original owners manual and service booklet, windows sticker and purchase order showing the car was purchased on 7/14/1980 at 'Anderson Datsun' of Loves Park, IL. The car has a razor straight body with gorgeous paint and the car has always been garaged and reportedly hardly ever seen rain and was definitely never left outside the garage overnight! The floor boards and trunk area are all remarkably completely original and solid and there are is no rust anywhere. The car has it's original factory tan leather interior which is also in remarkably immaculate and original condition throughout. The engine is extremely strong and the 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears, a simply lovely car to drive. This is a rare opportunity to own a very rare and internationally desirable 1980 legendary Datsun 280ZX 2 seat coupe model - owned by obviously only very mature driver/owner since new and with only 21K original miles with the highly desirable 5 speed manual transmission - we challenge you to find a finer example with lower miles or more highly and desirably optioned anywhere! For further information contact West Coast Classics through EBay or on 310-399-3990 during regular California business hours. Quote

Starting price: US $1,499.00 6 days to go. She's very rough, but well worth saving being such an early build date. Remember it was October 1969 that the S30z was displayed for the first time to the public. gas tank was removed due to fuel leaks; electrical wiring and harness need a lot of work. Will check for current mileage on the odometer, if installed. I gave my Dad this car back in the late 90s and he was unable to finish restoring the vehicle to its full glory days!! I have the title for the vehicle, in case anybody asks. The vehicle was manufactured back in November 1969 as listed in the manufacturer's plate that was pictured and attached to this listing. Please ask questions about the vehicle and I will try to answer them, if I know the answers. Please feel free to contact me at the following email address: arballo953@yahoo.com for questions and specific pictures about the vehicle. Thanks for your interest!! Quote

GBP 25,000.00 current asking price. ~50,000 AUD at current exchange rate. 1978 Datsun 260Z, in excellent show condition, probably one of the best standard unmolested 260Zs in the country. Original UK Righthand Drive car, with just 4 former keepers and only 34,000 miles under her tyres! Drives superb as expected of the mileage, I will get it MOT'ed, no miles since last MOT. Minor restoration underrtaken to bring everything to show condition, including full bare metal respray, new badges, door handles, bits and bobs, this was done just after I bought it in September 2011. Excellent condition underneath, prootected from new, floors, cills all superb. Fuel Tank powder coated, new sender unit and strap rubbers etc. Interior is mint, as you would expect from such a low mileage car. New roof lining (as original one had sagged), windscreen, new stainless bumpers front and back, new rare US Spec front indicators fitted, rechromed rear lights, new boot and footwell carpets, new tyres all round, refurbished original alloys, lots of minor parts plated / powder coated, simply superb. New Cibie lights, replated mounting plates and powder coated headlamp bowls, correct rubber Headlamp Seals. New Front Side Indicators. All new badges and door handles. New Window and Door Rubbers, Still sporting original rear window dealer sticker, box file full of history. Originally owned by a Football Pools Winner (remember them?) and rarely used as he was away at sea! Much rarer than 240Zs and overall a better car! This Z wants for nothing and is ready to show and enjoy, doubt you would find a better standard Z. Looking for an RS2000. Contact me on 07768 235767 to discuss, viewing welcome. Steve Quote
