Hi The attached images show how the bracket and solenoids are mounted in my '77 2+2. The vacuum bottle in mine is near the chassis rail, but some cars have it near the strut, I suspect the fact that my car has charcoal canister is the reason for the bottle being down near the rail. I also have a copy od the vacuum line schematic if you need it. Cheers PB

Not sure how many folks would actually now what one is these days.I used one, or something very similar, years ago feeding a DD-17 (1049) The Chev runs happily on ULP these days.

Looks like the Old Chev will also be at my place on the weekend of the BBQ.

Finally got around to replacing the A/C fan in bus.Used the Kia fan referred to above, easy conversion and works well. I didn't realise just how noisy the old fan was until I replaced it. I now have nice quite comfy cabin. Time to sort out some tunes. Cheers PB

They are quite an experience, but not exactly a lazy drive, and definately avoid having to reverse the thing.One of the cars that is on my Lotto list.

There are hardly any left, they were not only popular as rally cars but also with young drivers - both activities that destroy a lot of cars.A couple of my mates "tried" rallying in them. I can't remember the last time I saw one on the road or for sale.

Gidday I remember when they were new, they were a very respectable vehicle. They drove better than the VL Commodore, real shame the RB30 deal with GMH meant the Skyline couldn't have the Turbo engine.

Maybe they could go in the compost ?)

Hi Another thing to consider is your diff ratio. As your is factory auto it will most likely have the 3.545:1 ratio diff. My car was originally L26 Auto with the 3.545 diff. I swapped to an L28 (EFI) with a 280ZX Manual box then changed the diff to a 3:9. Changing the diff ratio made a massive difference to how the car performed. The 3.9 is pretty good compromise, reasonably responsive but still able to cruise at 110+ without reving its head off. I don't think you should go to trouble of costly gearbox until you have the car on the road with the most suitable diff, for now just grab a 5 speed and see what you think. This is just my opinion. Hi I can't remember exactly who I got in from, but it was online about 12 montgs ago. Just did a google search for XXmm flexible ducting hose and went from there. Secured it with hose clamps (dodgy but it works) Cheers PB

Hi Spent a few hours working in the Bus today, knocked over a couple of those jobs that I have been meaning to do for months. - Sorted out the ducting for the A/C and ventilation, replaced the split hoses and secured those that were loose. - Swapped the very noisy fan for a Kia Sportage unit. This fan is heaps quieter. I am not convinced it is moving any additional air though. Than went for a run up the "Old Pac Hwy" and grabbed a beer at the Anglers Rest. All in all a good day.
