  1. Thanks for that Yamahacam - they look good.
  2. I think it has been mentioned here somewhere before. I think it is one of the worst things anybody has ever done to a Z. It reminds me of the E-type hearse from the movie "Harold and Maude"
  3. Does anyone still use/trust the LENGINE.EXE software from the Sydney Z Car Club?
  4. Congratulations to you George and Kylie!! And welcome to the Z world Benjamin. Guess what daddy is going to have ready for your 21st birthday present?

  7. 240Z Datsun 1972 Complete Needs Full Restoration But it now price $10,000 Brisbane eBay item number:141939881199 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141939881199 What the ad says - "1972 Datsun/Nissan 240z restoration project. Car is 99% complete and a good solid body. Floors are mint. Has some rust but not very much at all. Motor is stripped down and looks good. Head is reconditioned seats are nice. Saying that, the car does need a full restoration. 240z are going up world wide. Inspection welcome at Waterford near Beenleigh Qld" What the ad does NOT say - Left hand drive Automatic
  8. The seller also has an RX-3 for sale - the listing says "Car Based in the uk can be shipped anywhere" - "Viewing welcome serious buyers only!" - serious enough to fly to the UK?
  9. One flat top and one round top - that's a first!
  10. It looks like your car is missing the hand brake boot too. Some suppliers sell the gear lever and handbrake boots together. Both boots can be found in vinyl (as original) or leather.
  11. I went with Lurch's recommendation of Superpro brand. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/3308-suspension-upgrade/
  12. Thanks - it was probably on the same ship as mine then (HS30 103724).
  13. Hello Emir, The car looks very nice indeed. You may be interested to know that Goes260 alerted us to your car on this site on the 22nd of January - we don't miss much! Would you mind telling us what the chassis number is? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/page-182 post #3639

What's the situation regarding rust? What interior trim is missing? Is this an original 2 seater coupe not 2+2 A: gday body work is great. could do with some dedicated time to align some panels perfectly currently looks great but would need some TLC for concourse stuff no rust moisture under paint on some panels from bad prep originally by spray painter no plastic trim to rear of car, does have original rear carpet. i have laid some carpet to front ( not professionally) yes the 240Z shell with the factory upgrades that then got designated 260z definitely 2 seater only"
  17. I assume you mean rotors and lines. As far as I know, if you want a full kit, you will need to look at US suppliers eg.; Silvermine Motors http://www.silverminemotors.com/featured/240z-260z-280z-rear-brake-upgrade-disk-conversion-kit The Z Store http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic21m/24-5583 or California Datsun https://www.californiadatsun.com/brakes/brake-conversion-upgrade-kits/ You can expect to pay an additional $200 - $300 for shipping.

  19. Hello Classicman, These wheels are currently for sale on eBay UK for a 'buy it now' price of £85.00 (~AU$160). It might be worth contacting the seller to see how much shipping would cost. DATSUN 240Z Steel Wheels (Original NISSAN) set of 4 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DATSUN-240Z-Steel-Wheels-Original-NISSAN-set-of-4-/182055519860?hash=item2a635ac674:g:IxMAAOSwmmxW6A1c EDIT - they have now been sold
  20. The door trims look the same as Aussie versions as far as I can tell. Out of interest - does the car have hazard lights? On US 240Z's, the hazard switch was located below the cigarette lighter. The pic below shows a 73 model pull/push switch - earlier cars had a toggle switch.
  21. None of the Australian delivered 240Z's had speedos in km/h - they were all in mph. You are correct about the mirrors being fitted on top of the front fenders on JDM cars. The most likely explanation for this mirror placement is that a part of the calculation of the registration costs for cars in Japan was overall width, and this allowed them to be slightly narrower. Genuine fender mirrors are very difficult and expensive to source. I also noticed the double switch in one of your photos (shown below). Is this for individual left/right side parking lights - or is it for left/right hazard lights (which would be weird!)? Neither of these were fitted to any of the Australian delivered 240Z's. The seat upholstery in your car has vertical/longitudinal panels versus the horizontal panels found in 240Z's in all other countries (as far as I know).
  22. A pic of the chassis number engraved into the firewall would be great too, if you don't mind.
  23. The plot thickens - its like CSI S30 now.
  24. Hello Michael, it looks like you have two very nice Nissans/Datsuns there. Why do you believe that the Fairlady Z is a 1972 model? I know there is some confusion about build numbers versus dates etc., but if it is HS30-103679, then I would have thought it was a 1973 model. My 9/73 compliance-plated 240z has a very close serial number of HS30-103724 - only 45 higher than yours.
  25. The Australian 20th Anniversary Z Car Nationals was held in 1990 (since the 240Z didn't arrive here until 1970) - so I assume that the 50th would be in 2020.
