Personally, I wouldn't use a sealant on it unless it is totally necessary. Maybe just a little around the bolt holes? It just makes a messy job later on down the track when you change your mind about that spoiler or it gets damaged....etc. And try getting it all off the spoiler and bootlid without damaging paint! Saying that, you could use a mastic silicone that does not harden or maybe even some windscreen sealant?

I guess it comes down to how much you've spent and how much more you are willing to spend on it. Might as well have a go at it yourself since you have already spent some time stripping it down to bare metal and if all else fails just fill it with bog and do a rattle can paint job on it.

I have the exact same gauges and all mine came aligned perfectly at 0. If the plastic cover has come off for any reason, the gauge face can move a little and then not align properly. Ask how I know this

Looking good. You should align the needles on your gauges to sit at 0 before you "lock it in Eddie" cause that looks like you are already idling at 500rpm and travelling at 10 kmh while standing still.

I reckon they'd look pretty sweet! Are tyres even supplied? I think it would be a pretty hard sell finding a buyer for these with such a 'rare' offset and at that price range. Who did the widening on them? When and if you are ready to entertain lowball offers, I might be interested

I think it could be done without having them but saying that, I would not attempt it without having them if that makes any sense. I still have the metal pieces that I cut out of my guards so I could give you a few measurements if you want to go down that route. I think your best chance would be to ask if someone near you has a set they let you try one to mark out.

Just about anything can be done over the internet these days and even more so if you have a wireless dongle!

Nice build. You're lucky you get to build/do what you love for a living. The exhaust looks good, not really a 'mandrel' but! I'd ditch or reinforce that gearbox mount though. those mckinney mounts leave a lot to be desired IMO.

Looks good, hopefully the issue with the clear coat isn't too bad. Did you fly up to see the car or buy it sight unseen? In regards to the powersteering, I find that once the front end bushings are changed and shocks/springs are in good condition, the steering isn't very hard at all. And as the speed increases, the steering becomes even lighter so I guess the answer is to just drive faster

Sorry to hijack the thread but that place where you got the sump from always seem to come up with the lamest excuses as to why things are late.

She looks to be in pretty good nik. When you say 'adjustment of most of the wheel bearings' what does this mean? I didn't think you could actually do anything to 'adjust' these. They either work or they don't. EMPRACING, I have a sump that will bolt up to an rb25 and fit an s30 I could let you have for a good price if you are interested.

1st one has been acid dipped so it is back to bare metal and comes with the plastic vents as well. There is a small chip in plastic on one of the vents but nothing some filler can't fix. (see red circle in pic) This bonnet is very straight around the edges and the front edge is true as well. It has a couple of minor dings in it which should be a piece of cake to fill for someone with the knowledge. $250 for this one. The second one is still painted and you can see where the panel beater has picked at it to see the amount of bog applied and has marked where all the imperfections lie. it does have bog along the front edge and some on the sides as well. Again, fixable for someone with the appropriate skills. $180 for this one. Pickup from Thomastown, Vic or I can deliver in Melbourne for an added fee depending on location.

"Last needed seal" Is that how Heidi Klum refers to her x-husband? Do you mean the metal/rubber backed piece that screws onto the front part of the quarter window? I think they might be the same as the 2 seater models as well? If so, they can be bought from black dragon in the US. I think around $50 each though. I have a pair of second hand-reasonable condition ones if you are desperate.

Paper rock scissors? Or in this case 2+2, 260z, 280zx. I'd go the 260z since it is already a rolling shell. Still not a simple drop in job though. Bit of fabricating and money needed to make it all come together.

Sounds good in theory but I reckon would be too hard to manage. Everyone would need their own caged? Or walled off area with workspace and power etc.etc. Not to mention the fights over usage of the hoist and tools/parts maybe even cars, going M.I.A. Then there's the liability/insurances... Add this to the fun task of having to chase everyone for their share of the rent.... Good fun! Yes there would be many positives like having people around to help, chew the fat and getting advice from different sources in the one spot but the negatives would outweigh the positives for me.

My opinion is, these cars are just getting to a point where they are not feasible to restore as labour costs just start to get astronomical and when you add this to the fact that you can buy a lot better, modern cars for the same money invested, well you can see why there are a lot of z's out there that will just sit there waiting for a revival. That's not to say people won't restore them as a labour of love, but unless you can do (or learn to do) a lot of the work yourself, then be prepared to pay to play so to speak.

That would be a fair hike to work everyday. He already lives in a town with population of about 10 (and a few cows/chickens). Need to move to somewhere that have buildings taller than a double story home.
