    Drive day

There are people up and awake before 7.30am on Sunday mornings? A whole other world out there, there must be!
  3. I have for sale this Suspension Techniques rear sway bar for 260z. It is new, never used and is the 7/8 inch or 23mm thick one. In the second pic you can see the comparison between standard and ST one. It is powdercoated and comes with new end links/bushings etc as seen in the pic. I bought this from summit but can't find the actual listing atm for the 260z one but the link below shows the 240z one (19mm thick). http://www.summitracing.com/parts/stq-51075/overview/make/nissan You would be looking at over $100 to bring one in from the US and I am asking $240.00 for it. Pick up available from northern Suburbs of Melbourne or can post at buyers expense.
  4. It pisses me off that this type of bs still happens in this day and age. I guess you can sleep well knowing that your wheel nuts were tightened by the torque master system. What a relief.
  5. $900 for a radiator? Many more things on that list are iffy. The office person had to be paid 3k just to come up with (and type) all that. They must have a copy and paste invoice system that they just supply to every customer and take out the parts they think they won't get away with?

  7. Convertible and towbar, I wonder what's been done underneath to strengthen it.
  8. I have driven this thing a few times now and it's pretty much what I expected. Bordering on crazy (crazy fun that is). At the moment it's on some 235x60 102H (suv) tyres which doesn't help in getting traction to the road but will see how this thing hooks up once some decent wheels/tyres are on.
  9. I have seen the demo ones in the radum showroom and i have bought a few of their items (engine crane, shop press, sandblaster.....etc) and I think a lot of their stuff is good value for money.
  10. You looking for brand new or a second hand one? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-280Z-CENTER-CONSOLE-GENUINE-NISSAN-OEM-/251178573090?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7b68dd22 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-280Z-Brand-New-Factory-Nissan-Center-Console-/360122722357?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53d8fca835 I have a second hand one I could sell cheap cheap if interested. It has a couple cracks in it though.
  11. Hi Brett. I don't think most of the people here mind if you post lots of pics (maybe make them a bit smaller though?). You could make a thread in members rides if you wanted to post heaps of pics on your build (the car that is) Oh btw, my car is actually named after a bloke. A bit weird? Maybe!
  12. If you get stuck and can't find one, I have one I can sell to you. It is the precision branded aftermarket one that I think pretty much everyone sells. Came in the kit I bought but I don't need it. MSA lists them for $70 plus post. I can sell you this for $50 plus post if interested.
  13. Maybe he just had a very large workload at the time, maybe he didn't like what I was planning on doing, I don't know but I'm fine with that. I did not go with who he recommended. I ended up going to see Kevin Williams in Plenty. We sat down and had a long discussion about what I was planning on doing and he told me what I should look out for and things to avoid. He seems pretty down to earth and doesn't want to bust your balls as long as you go in there with a clear plan and list of what you want to do. Mind you, I have gone a 'little' over my original plan so we shall see how I go.
  14. The aluminium radiator was from ebay for an r32 gtst/gtr with twin thermos and shroud. All I had to do was grind a little off the welds on the end tanks and it slipped right in between the frame rails on the zed. Have to be careful doing this as the first time I grinded a little too much weld off and a pinhole came out (chinese welds ftw!) but it was easy enough to weld it shut again. It is a perfect fit and it has the inlet/outlet right where I needed them. Obviously the mounting tabs need to be moved to suit the zeds radiator mounting position too. As per all cheaper chinese items, you have to be prepared to do some mods and swear a bit if things don't line up where they should. The shroud tabs did not line up with the radiator mount so had to weld new ones in and there was nothing holding the shroud to the bottom of the radiator so it sort just flapped in the breeze so had to weld a bracket there to make it right.
  15. Hey John, Yes, can't believe it's been a year since that day already. I never ended up going with Bottomley. I dropped in to visit him to talk about the build but he didn't seem interested at all and palmed me off to someone else. Might have just been a busy time for him or he just didn't like the look of me (I don't blame him). Anyway, here is a short walkaround vid of the car.
  16. In that case then just go to a bolt store as suggested and grab some M8 bolts in chrome plated or stainless steel. By memory I think they are about 30mm long. Get some washers to go on them too.
  17. The 26 animated episodes of the same name are actually pretty cool. oppa wangan style!
  18. How many miles on her? Got service books? Will ring later to arrange 'test drive'
  19. The ones that go in the hatch or the ones that go in the roof?
  20. Found it. I can give you the whole setup attached to the bracket or take off the part you need. It's up to you. Let me know if you want post or pickup.
  21. I will look around for it later. You can have it for postage or if you are down in Melbourne, you can pick it up.
  22. This part?
  23. Try typing "plastic J channel" in google and see what comes up. Lots of options I think that could work in stainless steel, chrome or plastic etc. Or you could use aluminium extruded drip rails or carpet retainers I think. Something like in the pic below could work too.
