I wanted to ask for recommendations for a spare wheel option for my 240Z. I now have 15 inch Konig wheels on the car, and am looking for a suitable 15 in wheel to use as the spare. I originally picked up a TRX rim and tyre, but it is too large (high) to sit in the wheel well with the cover on, and there is no way you can use the original clamp to secure the wheel. I looked through the technical forum and read where the 280ZX or 300 (4 wheel stud) space saver wheels may be an option, but before I go searching for this I would like to see what practical solutions other members may have come up with. I live in country NSW so I would feel more comfortable having a spare - long distance between tyre repair shops. Should I go for the space saver, or are there other rims that would meet my requirement? If anyone has a suitable option for sale, would be happy to hear from them. Thanks for that Peter, I will follow this topic with interest. I received an email back from the supplier - Autometer is the best option. They will fit inside the stock 240Z bezel, you just need to dissemble the trim ring and it slips right inside the factory case. Any autometer 5" tachometer will work. California Datsun

No - not even close to that PV. My background is Defence (Army). I am going on advice from Datsun Parts LLC when I purchased an Electronic Distributor from them a year or so back. It reads in part: "A stock tachometer will not work with this setup because its inductive pickup isn't compatible with the signal from the E12-80. There are two solutions - replace it with a 75-78 280Z tachometer and connect the tachometer sensor lug to the terminal on the E12-80 module. Has anyone found a workable replacement piece for the trim cap at the front of the rear deck? They are available at MSA but are US$85 plus freight. I was hoping someone had located a suitable substitute during their travels. Many thanks, Paul V

Greetings everyone, I was wondering if any of the old hands could give me some advice please on unbolting the retaining nuts on the half shafts at the inner (differential) end. I would like to replace the universal joints while overhauling the rear suspension (LCAs) with the diff still in place. As you know, there is not much space, and when I attempted to use an open ended spanner they were difficult to budge and started to round out. Is the solution a narrow bodied 14mm socket? I have a full weatherstrip kit excess to requirements that someone may care to purchase. The story is that last year I made enquiries for a kit to Motorsport Auto who advised that there was a delay in supply. I then went to Black Dragon automotive who had a kit which I purchased. Some months later Motorsport actioned the original order, and I ended up with two kits. I have fitted the Motorsports kit which I am very pleased with, but still have the Black Dragon kit in its shipping box, unopened.
