  1. G'day Gav , turns out the re bushed arms are not brass but are definitely sinter'd composition material . The machine shop guy that did them for me said that they are the best non wearing bushes available. I had two sets done & cost me $100 . The spigot balls in the arms are in good condition as well. Curious to know why they can't just switch the left arms over to right hand set up. You can have the lot for $50 , when do you want them by mate as I will be down your way on the 26th of this month & can drop them off for you but if you want them sooner I might be able to sought something out for you. Also whats the best sealant to use on breather plate that fits up inside the tappet cover. Regards : Alan .
  2. G'day Gav , if you are after the arms by themselves have a pr spare . Also have a pr of wiper blade pivot units with brand new sinter'd brass bushes fitted. Regards : Alan.
  3. From the few times that I've sneeked it around the block , they have good feel , not rock hard & wont put you thru the windscreen . I'm happy with them , remembering I have a big 280ZX motor in. Regards : Alan .
  4. The 280ZX is a bigger unit 9" as opposed to the smaller 260Z from memory but same bolt pattern as 260Z . I bought a second hand one then took it to Penrith brake & clutch who repaired it for $200 , I used a 1" brake unit which all bolts up the same. Also fitted the Hilux front brakes but not the vented type as I didn't like using the washers you have to use to get them to fit correctly . The rotors I fitted were the drilled & slotted units . Regards : Alan .
  5. "Carbuilders" , great product & relatively easy to work with . You wont beat the price anywhere . Apart from the "Sound deadener one" they have an additional rubber water proof product that you can incorporate with it . Talk to Brendan at the suppliers he'l advise you . Regards : Alan .
  6. Great work Alex & congrats on your ingenuity mate ,very clever. Can't wait to see your handy work when I come over . Regards : Alan.
  7. G'day Linton, wouldn't it stand to reason that if you raise the spring on the strut that the car would be higher & a harder ride . I'm puzzled by the reasoning because from what I can gather they usually cut a couple of winds off the spring to lower it or have the springs compressed at a suspension place . Never mind mate it's all part of the learning curve .I have some 240Z tops but they are a smaller diameter spring so would be no good to you mate. Regards : Alan .
  8. Think the rears are the same size Linton . You know that if you fit 260S30 types to your 2+2 it will effectively lower your car mate from what I remember reading . Pretty sure Lurch knows whats what with them . Regards : Alan .
  9. Sorry Hemma already sold . Regards : Alan.
  10. Thanks for the heads up , but not really aiming to make money just a beer from each item or two . I just about have all the parts I need & just trying to help people out that were probably in the same boat as me originally . No point in me hoarding parts that can help someone get their Zed mobile , or finished better still . Regards : Alan. .
  11. Gav I'm going to Warrens All Z Parts soon & also to Carlos , so I'll give you a call with price mate should they have a good set & pick them up for you . Regards : Alan .
  12. Sorry Gav , should have nominated front , Alex grabbed them mate . Wiper actuators were an additional set I had made up with the intention of keeping them as spares , they cost me $40 but I can't see me ever needing them at my age . LOL. Regards : Alan .

  15. Thanks Peter , was aware of that one it's the larger headed unit that controls the fuel set up from the ECU .They have the originals in tn the states for $116 but it costs $60 pstge . Going to try & get one from Nissan spares or try the Nissan Maxima unit which might work . Regards : Alan
  16. After two new heat Temp/sensors for 280ZX motor that connect up to EFI, ECU/Harness. OEM preferred but generic brand OK . Regards : Alan .
  17. My delivery of them happens early next week Peter , if you look up Car Builders on the internet you can get a better idea than I can give you . Or better still ring Brendan on Mob #0425 839 011 he will be better able to inform you of its content . Tony Doherty used it on his 240Z , that's the car with the GT stripe on it he might also be able to enlighten you if he reads this. Regards : Alan
  18. Just bought some sound deadener from Car Builders , they are happy to offer discount to Forum members . The #1 sheets which measure 500mm X 300mm are $7.75 per sheet pstge free. They are advertised as a 12 pack but he will supply individual sheets as well. Contact Brendan on Mob #0425 839 011 & mention Alan Stanton & Auzcar forum. Regards : Alan.
  19. Will have a look for you tomorrow mate , might have another spare somewhere . If you do make the plate up out of almnm it has to be slightly smaller in circumference than the two plates it fits between plus you need to cut out the section for the "Hall " system to work properly . I used three ball bearings from a push bike wheel for my rotating spacers & drilled quite a number of 1mm holes in the almnm plate to lighten it even more . It's a slow process but the finished product is well worth it as it will never stuff up . Regards : Alan .
  20. Think one is for Defogger switch & the other for Radio/Antenna . If you make up a test lamp you can establish exactly what they are for by turning ign switch to accessories position connect your light up to obtain a glow on it from the fitting you wish to identify then one by one remove a fuse from your fuse panel until temporary light goes out .Check this against your fuse cover & you will have your answers. Of course you will have one of your test lamp ends connected to a ground situation for it to function properly. Hope this makes sense to you . Regards : Alan .
  21. G'day Eric , trying to fathom what part you mean . The magnet you show is fastened to a base plate then between that & a base plate fits a plastic unit which is attached to the rod to the vacuum advance diaphragm . The plastic part becomes brittle over the years thru heat/age & that's why it disintegrates when you dismantle the dizzy. I made one up for my dizzy from 2mm aluminium sheet & it works super fine . By the way from memory there was a magnet included in the parts I sent you before ?. Regards : Alan .
  22. There is a guy up in Qnslnd who rebuilds them , I spoke with him sometime ago & he said he was quite happy to give Forum members a discount . From memory they were about $55.00 exchange plus pstge . Make sure that the one you send up is the same that matches your car as I've read that there are varying lengths for the advancement rod . They have a number stamped on the rod such as 82 or 83 , etc. Regards : Alan.
  23. G'day Mark . yours , PM sent .
  24. A pure delight to read & follow your " rebuild " it's one heck of a car . Where did you get the flares from , I think they look spot on with the red ,which is also the color of mine so you've made up my mind to fit them on mine . Regards : Alan .
  25. Have a cple of 260Z type if they are any good to you . Realized they are singles , sorry . Regards : Alan.
