  1. It wasn't the only one! Another white one up here in Brisbane, ended up the same. The illiterate owner refused all advice, and hacked it up. It was a nice early car, well setup, until the rice rice boy did his thing.
  2. Aahhh, excellent! 2nd o/r. Those reverse grid races are fun hey! That yellow Evo X Lancer is a worry. I can see/hear where the 4.375 is "holding" you. A few extra 300-400 rpm will load the turbo and get it working. Any ability to increase tyre diameter?
  3. Nah, A chessboard, start with just 1cent on one square, then double it the next, double that the next, and keep doubling up, all 64 squares. Remember, just 1cent only, to start with! ( no not serious!)
  4. The R31 Skyli rims are at 35 mm pis offset, they will foul the spring perches/struts. Look for something in a 15" with around 15-20mm ffset pisitive, or a backspace ( no hub adaptor or spacers) of 100 to 110mm
  5. Let your engineer know, these Datsun S30 cars ( 240/260Z) were sold brand new in the domestic USA market as a Scarab, fitted with a V8 engine. That should account for the "more than 10%" thing. As a 280Z ( no not a ZX) they were fitted with a 2.8 litre with fuel injection.
  6. The original sports car! Been quite a few selling at $40,000 to $45,000 AUD A few being taken back to Japan too. I have, sitting tucked under blankets, a very complete,, original, 1968 car, that i could be persuaded to part with. It is four numbers away from the race car.
  7. Did have, but some bloke with an old quick Datsun is in dscussion with me?!?!?! They don't come up very often, in R200 Sort of like 4.375's in the R180, a Sports Option catalogue part, the rally lads love those!
  8. He's gonna! With a 4.1 r200 !
  9. Be aware, the VASS guy may take pictures of the car, and keep detailed records. If you then, after his sign off, further modify or change, ie refit the hub adaptors, and, there are future queries, or worse, an accident, which may get investigated, the VASS guy may be approched to verify what he approved/inspected. Fit the rims that are acceptable and approvable. The hub adaptors/spacers are for the ricer/flatbrim brigade, sell them off. There are plenty rims in 15" at close to 0 offset that will fit with no issue.
  10. Irish Murphy says to keep the rear tail lghts and headlamps.
  11. It wasn't a CAMS event! They rely on the entrant to tick boxes on a form, and the assumption that being street registered, it is standard. Lee, your list of queries/ideas/thoughts/on other engine bays, is a,,,,, comprehensive!
  12. You gonna actually contribute anything,,,, Or just continue doing what you have always done.
  13. More than welcome to stay here. If needing a Brisb base or workshop.

  15. By time you buy a rb20 box, cond "unknown" get it pulled apart, re-bearinged and seals, parts, labour, cost of box, you're gonna be at around $1500 Get Lurch's, or pull yours out, get it rebuilt. The innards are all the same rb's and sr's can also whine and pigroot.
  16. Dont overcomplicate. Where is the 4" long bit of thin wall pipe that is supposed to stick out of the block? When you get a bit of straight pipe shoved in, the nside end needs a couple of holes in the end, a piece of hose in an upward slope, to go into a metal catch can, use a rectangular olive oil can, spray paint it black, for secrecy. And then run another hose from rocker cover breather, into can. Then drill half dozen holes on top, to vent the lot. Bring car, can, hose, bit of pipe clamps around, look at all mine to get idea, and fit yours. You dont want it drained back in, it will have moisture condensation in it, the top breather is sucked into airfilter, the bottom breather goes into intake mani. Dirty air, not good for engine. The small ebay things, if you really want one, i have some here, are a bit small, and useless.

  20. Thats it. I use that, the O bit is about 4 mm diameter. To make it curve, cut slits in the flat bit, or cut out triangles of the flat bit.
  21. Undo the nut, pull out the washer that has the flat bit on the inside, remove the hub/bearings/disc as one, Clean off the stub threads, inspect closely. Your report of "hitting it with a hammer to get it on" is rather worrying. Trial fit the flat washer and the nut, f it does not screw on, get a very fine triangular file and start gently filing the V's of the thread back straight. Also make sure the flat bit inside the washer prevents the washer from rotating.
  22. Coach builders, Motor body builders, Vintage car restorers, should be able to point you, if Clark rubber doesnt come through. We used to have a business in Qld Qld Rubber Supplies, ?, that had full kits for all kinds of cars, now no longer. Also try Rare Spares?
  23. You may need to source one of these out of the USA. Fairly uncommon here. Or convert it to a slot drive type dizzy, and buy a ZX Turbo slot drive oil pump, which i have a few of.
  24. Hey Singhy, if you aren't going to go ahead with this, flick me a pm with the details, where, who, ph number, how much etc. I got enough bits and pieces to put a L or SR series and a big five link diff into it. In meantime, it'd prob??, make an ok daily for my yougest kid.
  25. Lee Look for a site called "Natsoft" their race timing page, times are in there! You got a very good day in, so many laps, all good experience! Ah, the pensioner trolls! Yes yes,we all know Nev's Falcsun/Datscon isnt really a 260Z, but a 410Z, and lots of torque. McKeons is all Datsun, 'cept for the screw adjustable Autronic. 3.2 L Marque Sports vs 4.1L Sports Sedan No substitute for cubes, hows that 6.7 litre LS3 conversion, that should do 1.40's at The Island, very easily. Slicks or semi slicks, they are that close in capabilities, the semis are just way cheaper, and almost as good. McKeons been doing 59-61's out there for the last few meetings, you have'nt been around much. Troll away.
