  1. And it's congrats from me too..... I don't know you George but I have had dealings with the old Peter Allen... all good ... albeit 40 y/o race car stuff ........ I became a Grand father for the second time a week ago....little overalls....little spanners ...just beware of the little angle grinder .....
  2. I bought new flywheel bolts from my local Nissan dealer. They are 25 mm long and the part number is 12315-42L11 they were just under $8 each list and they charged me about $30 for 6, if that helps at all
  3. I have two gearboxes here on the floor. They both do what yours is doing....I think you'll find it's just normal play in the selectors.

    Oil Cap O-Ring

Hi John...how did you go with the oil cap seal?
  6. love the "oilo" on the guage.... I remember seeing that on filler caps on Alfa's....seem to recall seeing " benzina " somewhere on them as well...
  7. You might need a toolmaker Peter.... cheers old fart number 3
  8. You're quite right Gav....not for a resto...I had the dash and console done by Dash original in Adelaide. I was more comfortable with them regading fitting the instruments...they had my spare set and returned the dash with them fitted and instructions not to remove them until I was putting the good ones back in. The console was broken in the usual place near the choke lever. They also wanted the glove box lid to fit and recolour. They were dearer than some of the others but I'm very happy with the work. All good Mitch thanks for the enquiry.
  9. this is th way i received it.....bare patch on the gel coat....the right rear side has a bow in it ...it needs finishing of some kind ...I was going to tidy it up and trim it in leather.... but that's all changed now
  10. I'll do that tonight for you...... if you look at topstage website you'll see it there as well they are in melbourne
  11. I have a topstage fiberglass console That I won't now be using. It's as it came to me, smooth black gelcoat finish. I bought it as on option to use in my car but since then I have had my original one repaired and had a skin put on it when I had my dash done and I have also found another original one in good condition. If any one is interested let me know and we can talk about price. Cheers Pete
  12. another one .....from a long time ago.... car dealers in Brookvale..... I commented on some repair work on a used car...the reply was "yeah it got hit be the southern aurora".... two car yards up the road same quote....obviously all drank together at the Brookvale pub.
  13. I looked at 240Z in Canberra...the sellers father had the car to show me....." all rust has been dealt with" the add read .....and while we were in the car...amidst gearbox grinding noises and banging from the diff area with every gear change, he said it really turns head...i said " yes I can see why "

    Oil Cap O-Ring

The guys here have been good ...but have come to dead end with a lot of NLA parts..... drivers door mirror ....gear knob.... etc etc.... but they did find a new flywheel and a timing cover. Warren has been good at Hornsby..... as well as other suppliers

    Oil Cap O-Ring

Did you quote that part number? The parts guy here gave a disc with the old parts list. I think he got sick of me bothering him. He looks after me price wise but when I gave him the number he put it in the system and said " yep that's still good".

    Oil Cap O-Ring

Do you want some good news??? I just had rang my local nissan dealer and part no, 15270-78500, packing - oil filler cap, is in stock in aus. I was quoted " about $6.50 " and most likely over night to Tamworth. The complete cap is still available ex Japan. Good luck
  17. I hope this helps. The bolt spacings in the photo are, from left to right, centre to centre of the bolts. 157mm,155mm,158mm I know that sounds odd but I measured them with vernier calipers ( real ones not digital or dial ) There may be a bit srink or stretch in the rubber but it fitted my 1973 bar without any stretching. That part number is listed as fitting 240z 260z right hand drive. Pete
  18. It might be tomorrow before I can do it.
  19. Are you looking at sites in the US ? I think they changed over there about that time. I have a 73 bumper that has been rechromed and rubbers that I bought ( early type ) Happy to measure the bolt spacings and give you the Datsun part numbers if you like.
  20. M4 X 10mm long
  21. 1.25 is vary coarse for M4 . 0.7 mm is the standard coarse pitch for M4 I can measure mine when I get home on Sarurday if that's any good to you.
  22. Does any one out there have the need for a factory RX2 workshop manual? This covers the engine only. I've had it for 45 years and I haven't used it since I traded the RX2 on a 240Z in 1973. It is complete with the covers damaged and a few loose pages.
  23. Yep.......I should have waited until after my mid morning, pre lunchtime nap so I was more alert...
  24. That has pretty well answered my question..... the ones that are not on my car ( came off a 260Z ) weigh 4.3 kgs. completely bare and blasted free of paint etc.( my scales could be a bit out ) I looked through the link that you posted ( don't know why I didn't find it myself ) and it covers what I wanted to know. Thanks for your help
