  1. Yep.....most likely my fault ..... that was out the back of Broken Hill...and I do remember on that trip while sliding through a mud hole the floor plugs came out and made pretty red patterns on the roof lining.... but I wish now I didn't have to sell it when I did.. wonder where it is now......it was in very good condition when I sold it in 1977 regardless of a few dirt road trips.
  2. They are a bit special these days I guess.....the things we did when they were just another car in the '70's
  3. getting a bit off the track here but... Mine is doing OK ..not too sure about yours .... just finishing some other parts to go to the plater's with them
  4. The one that you have for sale Mike is the same as my 1973 car. According to the parts book the 240Z changed in July 1972 and the later 240Z part number continued on into the 260Z .

What's the time where you are George tooth hurty ?? sorry. Is this info any good for a start Top of glass is straight, sides are parallel , the corner radius varies ( not sure if the glass is genuine or after market ) bottom right R45 bottom left R38 top both sides R20. Should be able to read the sizes from the photo. The outside vertical dimensions are measured at 65mm form outer edges. all dimensions are in millimeters. can't help with measurement inside the rubber at the moment.
  6. Good luck with your search Bobby ...I spent about eighteen months looking....all the cars that I looked at had non original engines in them...the first one I found that was original I bought...it was a one owner 1973 car with original engine, wheels , hubcaps , steering wheel, radio etc etc. The down side is it was an auto but at that point I decided to do a manual conversion on it and the body, while honest, needs work. I also got with the car a lot of panels and gearbox, R200 diff etc. For what it matters I paid $9000 for the car and extra parts and have spent a bit more than that on new parts ...trim, suspension parts etc mostly from the US when our dollar was very strong and at this point I have an almost bare body shell. The cars like the one you are looking for are about but increasing in price. There was a very original Jap import car from the '70's sold from near me last year and I think it went for somewhere in the 30 kilodollars so just keep looking. The reason that I sent you a private message with a link to the advert was so that only you would see it at this stage. ...... pity I used my phone and didn't see that the add was a year old . now ...just where I did I leave my seniors card?? I'm retired also so I understand what you are saying about the money side of things thanks to dat2Kman for the heads up on the tunnel....I knew about the plate attached under cut out (photo attached ) and also that they don't have the clutch pedal stop.
  7. Hi Gav.....can you tell what the difference in transmission tunnels is between the autos and manuals?
  8. In my friends case it was the way to fit power steering to a manual steering F100 it seems that they fit easily.
  9. Early F100's as well I believe ...I was on the hunt for one for a friend last year...he found a good one at about that money..... good luck
  10. Hi Bobby...last time I was at Zac Smith's place he had quite a few cars there ..... 240Z and 260Z... does he have any for sale now ?
  11. And that would be a surprise .... Because if I knew you were coming I'd have forgotten by the time you got here
  12. Looks great Peter you must be very proud, pleased, relieved , tired ( at your age) Great job
  13. Rhino tools must wonder what has happened...Mine arrived on Thursday.... 45 years in the fitting and machining trade and the only JIS I had heard of was hydraulic fittings. Now that we know how to remove and refit fit them without hurting them...does any one know where you can get the original carbie float bowl screws..... Phillips head are easy to find but not the " cross head " type. I've tried my Nissan dealer but no go.
  14. WOW..as you know Peter, I worked on F5000's in the '70's..... John Goss won the AGP there in 1976 in a Matich car that I had a big hand in building...as I remember it was the old shorter track...around 60 seconds dead lap record. At about that time Springvale council made us all run mufflers on the cars.... Good bye Warwick Farm ..Oran Park.... Amaroo Park...and all the ones before my time...
  15. I'll do it now so I don't forget in the morning RH one is marked RH80 and has two dimples...LH one is marked LH20 and has three dimples
  16. Howdy Peter and ditto from me....driver's side has full travel and passenger's is limited about three notches short... maybe short is the reason.....passengers not being able to put their feet on the firewall. I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can see what they have done.
  17. I'm talking about a standard cast iron manifold..
  18. Hi Richard I can't help you with a manifold but I had a look a spare one I have here....it is in the same way....does any one know if " warping " like that is a common problem or is it, at least in part, just poor matching from the factory? Pete
  19. http://zzxdatsun.com/catSoftTrim.php Mike McGinnis at Banzai motor works has one but its LHD only and not at all like my original
  20. The clips as shown.... the backing material is good old fashioned "gorilla hair" , faced with a heavy rubber like material . The facing is 2mm thick and the backing about 10mm.
  21. Hi Aircobra The firewall insulation is in three pieces...even has the cut outs for the air conditioner hoses.... it's out of a 9th month 1973 car. I'll draw it full size on CAD and print off a template...I'll let you know when I've done it. Pete
  22. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic01a/30-2341A OK ...... all the ones that I have seen for sale don't have it....I'll find the one I have and maybe you can get your sample from it....happy to lend ...but I don't want to sell it Pete
  23. My car had one side with and one without.... I bought new ones and they don't have the rubber...not that this helps you but I'm not sure if they are needed I might still have the one with...if I can find it I'll let you know.
