  1. No, there is no time frame on this event. So it can be planned not to clash with any other forum or ZCCQ events as best as possible. Jason you could pick a date for this if you wish. But you better be there on the day to show us what we are doing wrong or what the right way to do things is. If an invitation is extended to the ZCCQ by the forum members then I feel there are better authorized forum members than me to take up that challenge as I am only a rank and file member of the ZCCQ .
  2. Title says it all. Queensland Raceways hold a breakfast or Lunch event at their circuits on request. Cost is $25 for a hot breakfast and $35 for a hot Lunch. Although prices may go up a little for 2013 but this is not confirmed at present .ZCCQ held one of the breakfast's in 2011 and anyone who attended that event was very happy with the food and how it was presented. Also Included in the cost is ½ hour of track time . This is done behind a pace vehicle at HWY speed limits. There is no racing! This is track time only. So this means you are able to take passengers with you , you do not need a helmet, you do not need any other licence or learners permit than a civil one. All insurances you have on your car should extend to this event but you will need to check with your provider to be sure. It is an opportunity to learn lines and have an experienced driver in your car with you to give advice if we can get them to join in. But we would have to have a least 30 people booked for it to proceed . That's people not cars . Queensland raceways require a deposit of ½ cost a week before the due date of the event. The earliest that this event could take place is late February or early March. The Skyline Forum members seem to do this thing from time to time. So is anyone interested in giving up a few hours of their Sunday or Saturday to have a good time.
  3. It looks ready for the track Zac . But my Daughter thinks she could beat you round Lakeside in her Hyundai . So what do think Zac ,you can keep up with an old bloke on the road in the 280 . Can you keep up with someone who delivers pizza's in a Crown?
  4. Got me Zac That's what it was !!!! A few others have shown interest in a day at the track. But around April ,May if we go as a group.
  5. [b"]STOLEN " What was stolen ? I only bottomed out twice and that is because the settings were on super soft and I was slow .I also didn't want Shaun impaling his head on his camera . But if you enjoyed that drive then you need to have a look at the LAPZ 2010 video of our day at Lakeside it has more than 30 Z's on it and is 45 minutes long. That has some driving on it.
  6. Your not looking to get a parts car are you Zac ? Finding it hard to get parts to fix the front bumper? If that is the case I may have an answer for you . But that is only a may be able to help.I know someone who has a couple of 280ZX's sitting around. PM me
  7. You are right .You will never be 100% happy with a club( any club for that matter) . But what puts a smile on my face about my club is they had the balls to back my idea of a Z national event some 22 years ago. Contacted other clubs to sell the idea and the ball was rolling .It then picked up speed to become the NDN events. One of which is only months away. Now they are looking forward to the next one ( NDN15) and at the moment they are at the bottom of the hill looking up . This time around it seems a lot steeper to them than last time. But I believe the concept will stay alive. Yes they can piss you off some times , there will always be a difference of opinion ,some times very heated. But then they can do something brilliant like this. Nissan Datsun Nationals
  8. I haven't seen anyone so passionate about starting a car club as you are for many years now. But what I was referring to is that each state has different club plate laws and how they can be used.If your trying to start a club using the forum to over come these requirements and possibility CAMS membership you will find it very differcult to bundle it all together and have it work.I will give you an example of how QLD works:The weekend just gone was our Christmas get together and cruze .On average it is the only organised event the forum does for its members in QLD each year. Someone has to work out a course go over it at least twice ,find a venue ,make sure there room to park , post all information work out times do bookings make sure it not expensive and pray everyone will be happy with it. Some will show up at the start with no idea where to go and will need to be provide with information in hard copy. You get the picture. But if you have club plates in QLD you have to belong to a INC club and only attend events organised by an INC club. The Forum is not a INC club and as such any one with club plates attending a forum organised event is technicality breaking the law. I can except an repremand from the ZCCQ over this. But I had a great day and it would be worth it . If you plan to form a Club separate it from the forum , it will be easier on everone and not have conflict with other state clubs or laws of the other states. Z Car Club Vic Inc sounds good
  9. interesting thread this one. I see all points of view having formed a Z club in QLD . filled all committee positions at one time or another and been a member of this forum for 4 years. But I feel not all argument's have been put forward at this time as I have heard all these arguements and more before. If the perpose of a club is for legal reasons only then this forum should not be pulled into this argument. If you plan to form a club to meet members needs in VIC .Then I wish you luck and success for your venture. Alan ,the QLD Club has been electronic newsletter for years now. Its getting an editor to do the job that is the problem . The club to the best of my knowledge did not ask the membership if they wanted hard copy or email . But if they want hard copy they may have to pay for it, but Iam not sure on this. The cost for email is editors time only
  10. Well that day went better than I had hopped for .That camera of yours Shaun needs to be looked at , for some reason I look fat in all those photos . I will actknowledge I was in the presents of greatness. Anyone who can down 8 pieces of pizza at once and take on 23 donuts in a row, I tip my hat too. That's 9 Cornetto's you have to down and no water. I don't know what you are worried about Zak, your car was up and running again in less than 10 minutes. Peter you look naked without that fuzz round your face. Thanks to everyone for making the day a total success. Aub
  11. Merry Christmas to all the VIC members and hope you have a great day .Some of us QLD's will see you lot at Easter . Best wishes Aub I don't know if the other States are having get togethers but Merry Christmas to them as well
  12. We are booked in under AUSZCAR party from 12.00 noon on the 2 December at Blue Anchorage Restaurant. As I don't know what numbers there will be I picked 20. You pay as you order. There are minor road works at Mt Mee but nothing that would worry a lowered Z. I would recommend everyone coming on the cruze check your brakes as there are some step down hill moments.Keep an eye out for the boy's in blue if you don't want a photo of your car sent to you in six weeks time and for the boys on 2 wheels. Put some yellow koni's in the 260 and checked to make sure the exhaust can not not fall off this year. See everyone next Sunday.
  13. meeting at 9.00am depart 9.15 if we are lucky. All details on the thread http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=11898.msg122955#new
  14. Hi Lee Good to see another Queenslander . I agree the sound of a Z with triples is hard to beat. If you're not busy on the 2 December some of us will be at Bribie Island for the QLD AUSZCAR X-MAS thing . Join us
  15. For those who want to know where we will be going on the cruze it will include part of the same course we used on one of the forum run's some years ago. We will start on Gympie rd turning left into Linkfield rd and turn right onto Eatons Crossing rd. Follow to Samford rd and turn right and on to Dayboro. At Dayboro turn into William st and then left into Mt Mee rd. Follow to D'aguilar and turn right onto the D'aguilar HWY (85). Follow signs to M1 BUT DO NOT GO ONTO THE M1 and follow signs to Bribie Island turnoff. Follow to Bribie Island bridge and cross to the first round about and back to the bridge to turn off onto Welsby Parade (waterfront)and down to First Ave opposite the jetty.Total distance is 119klm and will take 2 hours if we stop for a photo break. Possible change of venue to the Blue Anchorage restaurant. This place is under cover and serves more than just seafood. Every thing from fish and chips , burgers to Lobster if you want it . But we need to book. So I have made a tentative booking for 20 and will pay the deposit of $50 by Wednesday if we want it.This place even if it is raining with its view will be better than your best day at work ever. Although knocking back a few setting under the mast on the Sea Witch running in a new motor by going up to the Story Bridge then back to the Bay and then over to the Port Authority does come close as a good day at work for me. If we take this up I will change the booking to AUSZCAR party
  16. Fish&chips it is then.On Sunday DECEMBER 2 I will set out a cruize of about 90 minutes on the north side of Brisbane. The start will be at the Caltex servo on Gympie road (map 109 h 14 UBD) CARSELDINE. Meeting time to be around 9.00am for a 9.15 depart. The finish will be at Bongaree(SAVIGES) Fish&chips on First Avenue at Bribie Island (map 53 C 20 UBD) It is a side walk shop with seating and they feel that will be able to look after us as I said there may be 20. Plenty to have a look at as well with antique shops, bakery if you don't like seafood or burgers and enough ice cream outlets to sink a (battleship) , beach, jetty and a pub. We can stop for photos along the way.But we will need to be there by 11.30 am if we wish to park all together and that was recommended by SAVIGES SEAFOOD where we will be eating. Numbers do not mater but if you intend on coming along please let us know. You don't need a Z to be part of this . We could turn this into a fuel economy run if there was an interest? Can we collect a donation for the forum?
  17. It sounds as if Sunday 2 Dec will be the day and on the North side of Brissy. I can set out a run of about 1 and a half hours long same as I did last year.I would recommend finishing in a park or near a dam and not the beach .Although there is nothing wrong with both Coast destinations (camped at both many a time)it will be the start of school holidays for some and be crowded. Besides trust me when I tell you ,you don't want to see this at a beach. I put fellow competitors off there game at sprints by changing out in the open. Richard I'm sure you can bum a ride with someone. If most are happy with that I can post details in a week's time and it should be a byo affair. I think we should raise a donation to the forum to help cover running costs as we did last year.
  18. It looks as if the Vic boys have there Christmas thing well under way . Do we in the Sunshine State want to do the same as last year . I remember Peter T putting his hand up again to host a BBQ this year and that was about a month ago. So it is not to far away now and a day like last year requires a small amount of planning and a time frame to work to for who ever does it. So thoughts People? What are we doing.

    RUN TO BUDERIM

Sorry Peter , can not make it not enough notice. There may be a lot of Z boys going to Morgan Park Warwick this weekend for the State Sprint Championships
  20. A friend sent me this for a Z432. AUS dollars is divide by 30 or 31 . My problem is no engine pics and I would have to live in it if I got it. http://www.taladrod.com/w20/Search/CarDet3.aspx?cib=925980

    Should I Retire?

What Rubbish You will never retire . We have to match Wilbur at least or never live it down . At least you can beat him round Lakeside . The rest of us have to put with the reticule of been beaten by a guy who needs a walking stick to get around. That's a good video perhaps I should put that in the upcoming QLD Z newsletter.
  22. This is the kind of talk that leads to a group booking at one of QR tracks. Fifteen cars at 10x normal entry fee . Lakeside would be better as it suits the Z better .Any Z for that matter. The GTR lift their inside wheels on some of the corners and upset there 4WD systems and they don't like off camber corners.Your mate may be happy to throw down a challenge to you . But how would he feel about 13 other Z's behind him who be more than happy to back up your claim?
  23. a 120Y with a RB26
  24. For those who were thinking of going to this event . You should have ! Wheather was ideal and the number of cars seem to increase each year . As stated your car does not need to be in show room condition . Mine is a perfect example of that and I didn't feel out of place as there were many cars on display sporting battle scares. Saw many familiar faces on the day but no cars to go with them , why was that? So here are a few pics of a number of cars
  25. Hail to the King ! Con grads Richard . Only problem with being at the top is there is only one direction to go.
