  1. I am not sure if I can help here Matty , but I do have a dizzy which looks the same as yours (came from a turbo 2.4 R30 skyline) and an old 260 dizzy with a number of coils hiding round the place. Your welcome to swap them around to see if they make any difference if you like. Cheers Aub
  2. Can you give us some photos Matty , so we got some idea of what we are dealing with . There would be a good chance someone close may have something you need to get it going or be able to pin point whats missing from the photos.
  3. I wasn't happy with the engine in mine Peter so I put in a V12.
  4. We will need a bit more information . 1. Do plan to use your 260 as a daily? 2. Do you wish to use it as a weekend warrior car 3 . Perhaps as a candy car for shows. 4. Do you want club rego and insurance for your Z 5. competition car That sort of thing has a big impact on how much money you will need to spend or time it will take . But 10 should get you a basic car for all groups except number five if you want to be competitive. But you may spend some time looking.
  5. Great night guys Thanks for the BBQ Jason good luck with the turbo project Lee. I think it will be a problem to keep tuned but if you can get it together it will be a show stopper.
  6. Does he have the slightest idea of what will be install for him as your "PIT BITCH" for a weekend at Warwick?
  7. Talk about hijacking a thread. This is about RACQ CANDY SHOWS. I don't have any love for RACQ especially when they treated me and my family so badly on home insurances. But when people 3000 years from now find this thread as the only evidence as electronic communications between people of this time. They will assume and we all know what assume means that we loved highly prized cars . That we showed and raced at the same venue which had homosexual overtures. Not that there is anything wrong with that if that is the kind of thing your into. Thank you Shannons for coming to my rescue on insurance .
  8. ( a few cold beverages are definitely owed there Now that sounds like a plan and I will take you up on that . Perhaps at Jason's BBQ if you can make it or at Christmas time when we have an annual run .Toowoomba would be a nice place to have it this year.If you have any trouble with the triple carbs drop me note and I will see if I can be of any help.
  9. Word has it this Spaming organisation becomes very offend when you refuse their generous offer. To the point where they may send a Representative (well dressed I might add) to your home to follow up on the offer at hand . Continued refusal of said offer may result in a revised cost(always more expensive) of said photo . Not to worry ,I also believe a alliterative accommodation deal will also be offered as part of developing process of said photo. Strange the process should take so long. So I would pay the first offer no matter how bad the print is.
  10. CHALLENGE you Zac ! Not on public roads . We as a organisation have an excellent record for outings and we need to keep that in tact. So as for the track, Well after the last track day flogging I took .I doubt I would be much of a threat to you. So it will have to wait for another time.
  11. Once again you have out done your self Shaun . Excellent job on the pics. Flyer's about the event did do out to ZCCQ members and it was mentioned at the meeting in May . But getting the Club Marque tent to the grounds seemed to be a sticking point. Lets see you follow me now over Mt Mee without bottoming out Zac.
  12. Perhaps Shaun (if he plans to be there ) or James could send out an invite to QLD based or Brisvegasions (is that a word) of how to get to your place and what time.
  13. You have missed something on your list . There seems to be nothing for your wife . You will have to come up with some kind of sweetener for her. You will know that I mean when the time comes. The triple carbs will make such an improvement over what you have on now and In 20 years time that same baby will want to take that Z out for a spin, be ready for that.
  14. Yeah ,Matty is a volatile one. Got to keep a leach on him . Good thing no Porsche owners showed up and started slacking off on our cars . Matty would have been all over them like a rabid dog.
  15. Thank you Peter for putting on a magnificent day . The drive up was excellent with the road mostly to ourselves. The stop over to view the restoration work on the bikes was interesting .But I enjoyed the range of metal working machinery your friend owned and the custom parts he is able to make. "WOW" never tasted sausages like what were on displayed and for all to sample with drinks. Please pass on my thanks for the hospitality your company offered to our group. Great to meet you Matty .I hope you have your Z going soon and a thanks to Allan for stopping to make sure I was OK on the trip home . The rain was was just a little to heavy for semi-slick tyres to handle and I decide to let the shower of rain past before continuing on. Sorry for upsetting the judging process.
  16. As you have a points dizzy ,you might want to check the condenser (small cylinder thing with a wire out one end and bolted to the dizzy). They don't last for ever and when they fail there will be no spark.
  17. Sounds like it will be a great run . I hope the MG's can keep up with us. I will mention the run at Thursday's(30th May) ZCCQ general meeting. There may be a couple of Z's that may wish to join us and I think I will have one non Z join us. I also believe that there is a hobby expo on at the show grounds in Toowoomba on the same day.
  18. Greetings to another Queenslander and south of the river to boot. There are two opportunities for you to catch with other QLD members with a run to Toowoomba on 2 June and possible BBQ on the 11July just check the qld section of the forum for details.
  19. BBQ Thursday 11th July sounds good . I don't think it would clash with anything ZCCQ is doing but 260DET might have a better idea of what's on their calendar for that time of year. So do we chip in some coin or bring your own along?
  20. Come on Jason Your no stranger to having a heap of Z's at your place and we haven't had a BBQ for a long time. What do you say?

You got some very good photos on the day Matty. Thank you Unfortunately due to over heating problems, I had to withdraw after the second run . From there things didn't improve and the trip home was one I wish to forget. But I was surprised at the Drivers briefing when the track owners came out with a statement and I quote:Lakeside is the highest agerage speed circut in Australia , making reference to both Bathurst and Phillip Island . I was waiting for howls of protest from any southerners but the room was silent . Must have been full of QLD'ers only.

no last minute changes to our afternoon at Lakeside is there. Are we able to park as a group in the pits or will we be all over the place?
  23. I could do with a great day out . Count me in.
  24. To nights ZCCQ meeting has been postponed till May 30th. All above information remains the same . However there is the All Japanese Day at Banyo (hosted by the Seven of Clubs Mazda organisation) which is the big one for Jap cars Queensland on Sunday 9th June .
